I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom moved to North Point Healthcare & Wellness Centre. I love the staff. They're very nice. They take good care of their patients. They have physical therapy and speech therapy. The facility was very clean. It's a shared room, and my mom has a roommate.

North Point Health & Wellness Center provides physical therapy to my husband. I had a little bit of difficulty in the very beginning, but those issues have been addressed and there haven't been any issues since then. Cleanliness seems to be good. It doesn't smell or anything. They have quite a few activities for those who could participate. They have ice cream socials, coffee klatch, sing-alongs, church services, and arts and crafts.

My wife and I have been at Northpointe for three months now and service has been good, comparing it to two hospitals I was in lately,My wife who needs constant care is adequately taken care off and my exercise program is Ok. The meals have been good, with only complaint that breakfast is usually cold.. the only complaint I have is that the coolers, are on more than I like, but this is a hospital and air conditioning is probably needed even in the fall. Nursing care, with very few exception is good and friendly after they get to know you.Yes there have been times when service was slow, but there were emergencies which could not be prevented. I wish everybody who reads this good health but in case something happens Northpointe is Ok

Lazy staff! Sometimes it took them six hours to answer call lights. Rude and disrespectful! SeeI. have half a mind not to pay my bill! I am a retired RN and fhey treated me like trash. Instead of helping me to the bathroom they just put on a diaper on me and told me to poop in my pants and pee in my pants!

I got my friend out of northpoint and brought him home. The people at northpoint was supposed to send someone to change the bandages on his leg. Nobody showed. The.next day i called again. Again they said they would send somebody, again nobody showed. So, i had to hire somebody to come and change his bandages. Now im trying again to get someone to come change his bandages. All im getting is the run around. Can i get the help he needs, and not the run around

My husband was in Northpointe Health and Wellness Center. I wasn't notified of different events, they didn't watch him carefully enough, they were over-medicating him immensely like an animal, I ended up with someone else's clothes when they handed a bag of clothes back to me; it was very pathetic. I heard over the phone, because one of the nurses didn't hang up, and they were arguing about what was done with my husband. I actually heard that yelling back and forth; very unprofessional. They need to improve their personal care, personal watching, realizing reading the chart, realizing what the man had when he came in there, don't be surprised he had dementia, don't be surprised he couldn't respond. I was ready to reach through the phone and choke somebody. It's very discouraging during this shutdown. If it's possible, I'd give them a zero.

I have a family member who is here and has been for the last few weeks. He is competent to make his own medical decisions and had voiced over and over that he wanted to leave. We have also called and stated this. Once they knew of the families wishes they would transfer our calls to staff that didn't answer, would never call us back and would hang up on us. We finally reached someone there and they agreed to let us come the following day for pick up. Well, the morning of pick up we received a call that his oxygen had dipped into the lower 90s which is still normal and therefore he had been sent to the hospital and picking him up wouldnt be an option. And that Once he was released he would return there. We have had to get very rough and threaten legal action to get him out. Per the hospital theres nothing wrong with him and he will be sent back to the facility and we are now going to pick him up. If you dont want a heck of a fight, don't put anyone you care about here. Its a slaughterhouse.

Was sent here after a hospital s tay. The doctor who was supposed to oversee my care was a no-show. I had a fall in the shower room when the shower chair broke. On that same day, got kicked by another patient, and then found a document in the TV room with the names of every patient in the facility, their room assignments, and who was paying for their care. I had to grab that and take it to the director of nursing before the housekeeper threw it out!

This is a horrible place and it should be shut down! They are mean to the patients. They don’t give the patients their proper medications or the proper dosages. The doctors are there to make money they really don’t do anything. They supposedly order tests but, the tests don’t ever get done! The patients get cold showers because the aides don’t have time to wait for the water to warm up! The food is cold and awful! The nurses and aides are always walking around and eating! The patients are constantly falling out of bed or wheelchairs. There are no rails on the beds! They need new beds! Guest chairs in the rooms would be nice too! Just don’t put a loved one in this place because they will die.

Great little facility. Clean, staff are helpful... Tho everything is not perfect they do act with urgency to correct a concern. Activities are fun, interactive and happen all throughout the day. Administrator is awesome. The back corridor is so nice, open and green... Nice space to have family over on a cool day... Single floor with 3 dining rooms. I would totally recommend

If you don’t have time to read this entire review, just do yourself and your loved ones a favor and stay away from this horrible facility. My 91 year old dad spent one terrible week here (Jan.2017) and he couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Now I know that his attitude may not have been stellar but he had given up hope on survival. Does that mean that the staff should treat him horribly? I only saw one smiling staff member, Rey, who was very nice and helpful to all of us. Thank you Rey. Otherwise the service is almost nonexistent. If we asked for anything, even water, it seemed like we were such an inconvenience for them. He arrived at the facility on a Friday afternoon and was not given dinner. On Sat morning he did not get breakfast or lunch until we questioned the staff. Someone told my sister that they didn’t know he was there. The food was horrible too. He asked to use the restroom and no one came to help him. 90 minutes passed before he was given any assistance. A staff member told my sister that they can not help someone with restroom needs during a meal so “they may just have to mess themselves and we will clean them later.” Very dignified. He rang his call button and no one appeared for at least 30 minutes. I timed it. This happened several times. He had been on oxygen in the hospital but there was no oxygen in sight until I asked for it 3 days later. Unbelievable. ?The director of social services and discharge planning was of no help to us. Veronica M. had a condescending attitude. She told us that even she would not put her parents at this facility and was aware of negative reviews. She didn’t seem to care about anything. (She planned an ambulance to help move my father to another facility for $650. I found another company to move him for $200.) Sadly my father did pass away a few days after leaving North Point, but my family and I are certain that North Point didn’t do anything to help make him comfortable in his last few days of his life.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was at North Point for a month, most of the aids were OK but some rude. Food wasn't good but on a rare occasion. Never had a blood draw though I had a serious problem and North Point changed some of my prescribed meds. The worst is that they required me to pay a co-pay even though I had supplemental policy. Just received my medical provider statement and NP was paid the same amount they required of me. This is not a legal practice and I will file a State complaint if I don't receive a full refund.

I only got my husband into one place, and that was called Northpointe. It was very clean, and everybody seemed to be very pleasant with everybody. His room got two beds, and it's very nice and clean. He had a nice window with a view of the outdoors. The staff during the tour were very personable and showed us the whole place and all the rooms. There was bingo, card games, and movies. The food was great. I enjoyed some of it myself. They were all very pleasant and nice to us.

I have been living in Northpointe for two months now. I have no complaints with the staff as they have been very friendly and they are doing what they're supposed to do. I chose this nursing home because it doesn't smell like one and their level of care is excellent. Their rooms need to be a little bigger but there is a home feel to it.

I would not put anyone in this place. My father was there doing okay until they were bought out by a big company who immediately started firing all the excellent workers and hiring people who had no training and of course were paid little. Then they told me my father had to leave because they were no longer going to be an Alzheimer's facility and the move (transfer trama) latterly shortened his life. The people had the "I could care less attitude". Enter at your loved one's own risk.

This facility is conveniently located near highway 41 in Fresno, California. The grounds and interior are well maintained and clean. Most rooms are shared by two or three patients, however there are private rooms available. The front door is monitored, with an automatic locking feature, and visitors and staff are "buzzed" in to enter. Visitors are required to sign in at the reception desk. Along with dining areas, physical therapy rooms, etc., there are sitting areas, and a television room with couches and visiting. There is also a courtyard area, and a large outside area in back that is fenced. There is grass, trees, benches and tables. The perimeter is well fenced for patient protection. Staff checks the area regularly, assuring that patients are safe. Certain patients are accompanied if they want to go out. In general, staff is kind and accommodating to both patients and visitors. We have found that staff is very thorough about observation, tracking and logging of medications, meals, personal habits, and any general day to day notes that help monitor patients. Although shared rooms are minimal, with only a small closet space, shared toilet room, and one nightstand, patients' families are allowed to provide TVs, radios, photos, a special bedspread/blanket, etc. Clothing is changed daily, or more often if required, and is kept laundered and clean. Bedding is likewise kept clean, and rooms in general are well maintained, neat and clean. There are a variety of meal options available, and each individual has his/her own meal "plan" for issues such as allergies, food textures, etc. Although the administration and staff strive to constantly improve, we did have a couple of situations in the past where we believe medications caused some difficulty on behalf of our family member. We understand that she can be difficult, and do not deny the need for certain medications. However in the process of "balancing" out medications, our family member did have some difficulty staying awake. This caused her to eat very little, and she lost weight that was cause for concern. In attempting to improve her dietary intake, she was placed on pureed food diet, which she doesn't like. Now that medications are balanced, and she has adjusted to living at a facility she is doing very well. She was still on puree though, and a request was made and subsequently granted to place her back on solid foods, which she seems very happy about. So a small amount of staff following up on those details would be nice, but this is also something that we, as family should expect to keep an eye on also. UTIs are an ongoing problem, but this was an issue before her living at Elim. Staff does a fairly good job monitoring this, and is pretty good at noticing changes in behavior that may indicate infection, and therefore testing is completed and meds administered if needed. As with any place (not just care facilities) some staff is better than others. While we haven't found any staff that is what we could consider "bad," or reckless, there are a few individuals who obviously care about the patients as individuals and go above and beyond. You can see that they have affection for the patients and truly care about their well being. In general, we have been very pleased with this facility. If we could have mom at home, we would. But because she gets combative and can be very difficult, we found the need to have her in a facility. Overall, we are very pleased with the level of care mom gets, and would recommend Elim to others.
