I really liked Golden Living Center - Fresno. It's pretty nice. The room for Alzheimer's was upstairs and completely locked down, so my grandmother won't be able to get out, which I really liked. They had a garden area where she could go out and be with the other residents. The rooms were OK, pretty decent, big, and clean. They had an entertainment area and a pretty nice lunch room.

i visit my father approx 4 times a week if you get the right people things are ok at best but a lot of the helpers are rude lazy with a capitol l I find feces covered wash cloths in the sink I have found my fathers catheter so full it looked like a giant water balloon about to burst I have found feces on the sheets that he was using I have found blood in his catheter and the nurse said only the doctor can order tests but no one had notified the doctor I have many pictures of the conditions there so you don't have to believe me I can prove it pray that your loved ones don't end up in this facility the really sad thing is my father could get the care he needs at home for about 2/3rds the money this place is charging but the insurance wont pay for that only for the golden living center so if you don't have the cash to take care of your loved ones the state has a nice plan to give it to these people instead of where it can do the most good

This place is disgusting. The whole building smells like urine and feces. Half of the residents are confused and sick. My grandmother stayed here for three months and within that time she fell twice and ended up having bed sores. We had to hospitalize her after we found blood stains on her bed sheets and she was half naked in the hallway with a soaked diaper. I am disgusted and I wont rest until this place is shut down.

Golden Living Center in Fresno has a Five-Star Medicare rating for a reason. The facility is clean and nurtures a culture of innovation. They have a specialized program for congestive heart failure patients and their registered nurses are ACLS certified. This was the first time that I have encountered a skilled nursing facility that has profoundly elevated the standards of care. In addition, I also met the facility's executive director, Ms. Walters, whose door is always open to patients and staff members. I would recommend this skilled nursing facility to any family member who is seeking compassionate and competent nursing care. This facility is definitely a role model in the healthcare community.

Some staff at the lower level of this facility are rude and unprofessional. A cna took my mother's clothing and gave it to another patient to wear. All clothes must be labeled with patient's name. Other cnas complained that my mom was too big and heavy when I was right there in the room. Another cna used my mom's pillow for her room mate's buttocks. Cnas kept skipping my mom's shower days yet when Ombudsman came to investigate they claimed that she was getting showers six times a week. She didn't look sparkling clean when I visited her every week. Then after noticing that my mom was wearing the same outfit for four days I talked to the nurse and she said it was my mom's fault that she kept wearing dirty outfits left on her bed. This facility really needs to improve and train on better cna and nurse care as well as good manners. Families are checking up on you. Some nurses and cnas and staff are helpful. They have different activities for patients to do.

I like the cleanliness at Golden Living Center, and the staff was very well-versed. I saw the dining room, and I know that they have a dietician on duty that prepares the meals fresh every day, depending on the dietary needs of the patients. The room that I looked at was for a single, it seemed to be very adequate, and there was a nice patio at that particular unit that was very accessible. She gave me a month long list of different things that they had, a lot of them were memory quest trivia, and I thought that would be comfortable for dad. The executive director Peggy was absolutely wonderful, and most of the staff that I talked to have been there for four or five years, which is a great compliment to the company that’s running it. However, it is an older facility and needs updating.

I have come across Golden Livingcenter online. When you walk in, it smelled dirty, e.g., smelled of dirty diapers of feces and urine. There were a lot of elderly people in the hallways with dirty diapers. They weren't clean. People were not friendly. It was very uncomfortable. The rooms were very small. Where they're going to put my mother, there was a four-bedroom, it was dark -- no lighting -- and it smelled dirty. My husband and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. The dining room was very small with very low lighting. Regarding security, it was not very secure. It was right on the main street, and there was no gate or anything around it.

My mother received the best care while rehabilitating in this facility. Staff took very good care of her.

I went there to do a project for school and even though they had a busy schedule they made space to help me out with my project. I had been there in the past on Halloween and seen how nice and polite the staff is and how elders enjoy being there and participating. I thought that was very nice and sweet.

I think or hope that's it's the best facility we toured. The faculty seem to be so nice and enjoy taking care of the patients. When I visit, which is daily and sometimes twice a day. My mother is always clean and is being taken care of properly. The facility is always clean and smells fresher than some if the other facilities we visited. The office staff is always helpful with insurance billing and anything extra my mother wants, they make sure to call and let me know what she wants or needs.

This is a smaller skilled care facility offering short term, long term, and hospice care, but they have a waiting list. They offer lots of activities like bingo, bible study, stories, socials, and various ministries. I like that they have two resident cats inside the facility. The entrance is warm and cozy, with a real fireplace. It's an older facility, but it didn't smell and looked clean. The rooms are large to accommodate either two or three residents. Some of the patients were sitting in wheelchairs around the hallways, but most were sleeping. The kitchen I saw was clean, but it could use a cosmetic makeover and the food I saw was typical. They offer inpatient and outpatient therapy services with a focus on maintaining functionality and enhanced modalities.
