The Vineyards at The California Armenian Home (Formerly California Home For The Aged) is very well lit, very well taken care of, and it's pretty much brand new. My experience has been great. The staff is great. If I ask a question, they tell me what I should do. They guided me through the process. They keep my wife busy, keep her occupied, and keep her challenged. They have all sorts of activities from cards to activities that challenge your memory, to socialization, to music, to concerts, and to outdoor visitations. She has a private room with a shared bathroom. They're probably the best value price wise.

California Armenian Home was OK. They seemed to have everything that everybody needed. They have activities. It was clean and a pretty nice place. They have two to a room or one to a room. It was a moderate size; not really big but not small either. It’s clean, the help seemed very helpful, and they have activities. There’s a large ground area, and the prices were very economical.

We visited California Armenian Home for my mother. It looked very nice. It seemed like they have good management. Clients who live there seemed satisfied and contented. It seemed like they're receiving good service. I think it would have been a nice place to place my mother, but she elected to stay at home. Otherwise it would have been a good selection the way the facility is operated. The room was very clean. The room where they have the eating facilities looked very clean and attractive. The facility is somewhat dated; it is not a new facility. It is not really pristine in terms of the latest and greatest in room arrangements and the facilities that folk would be living in, but otherwise, the management was good, and it was clean.

The facility is very clean whenever I go to visit there. The nurses are nice, but sometimes my grandma complains about them because I have noticed that they sometimes take their time to attend to her. There is a director of the facility who is there very often and interacts with the residents in a pleasant way. This living facility is a minimum care facility, but it is also attached to a nursing home. The dining room has somewhat fancy furniture and the food is good there. They have daily exercise and fun activities, including ice cream socials. About once a month they take everyone to an outside activity, like shopping or luncheons at a church. They have a chapel with two church services every sunday. My grandma has her own bedroom, living room, and bathroom but some of the residents share a bathroom. There is a common area with a fish tank and television where people congregate throughout the day. Overall, I think my grandma is happy and well taken care of at this facility.

Overall it was a nice looking facility very expensive looking though I'm not sure what there costs are exactly. I think residents have a choice of apartments or the hospital bed area. There were lots of activities for seniors to participate in and the community was fairly small which is nice. The landscaping was great everything was clean. The nurses we're all very nice and the place doesn't have that sterile feel that a lot of assisted living place have; it seemed home like. A lot of the staff spoke Armenian also which is great for the residents. Definitely not the place to retire unless you or your spouse are part Armenian and are used to the culture. The meals seemed to be a mix of regular American and more ethnic flavors. Convient freeway access to by the 180 though it is a bit of a drive out to the clovis area from most of Fresno.

When I first went in for a tour of the care home, from the outside it looked like it was a nice little place. There is a lot of space outside for residents to walk around, and even some patio areas for there to be lunch outside with other residents. When you first walk into the building, this area has been newly remodeled and looked very elegant. As you get farther into the building you can see many residents out and about which is always nice. There are residents busy doing activities and the people that are there seemed nice. One thing that I had noticed, was that they had only remodeled the front half of the building and nothing in the back yet. I hope that they get around to doing it soon, because then it would look more of like a 5 start environment. The only thing that I didn't like too much was that when it came to finding certain nursing stations, if you didn't pay attention to how you had got there you would feel like you were completely lost.
