My father has only been at Crest View Manor for a short time, it's been 3 days now since he moved in, but they've been fabulous. It's a small 35-resident assisted living facility. They're very open, very safe, and there are incredible views but it's also secure. People with memory issues aren't going to go out and wander off. The staff is fabulous, very kind and friendly, and welcoming to visitors and friends. The menu looks fabulous too. The rooms are a little on the small side, but they're comfortable. They call them apartments so they're 1-bedroom apartments with a bathroom. You don't need a lot and they're fabulous but somebody who's got mobility issues may have a bit of an issue with it. My dad does not need a lot of amenities or activities but one of the things they have is a loudspeaker in every room and they are always inviting the residents over for bingo or church or religious services and activities. They have somebody coming out and doing exercise too. They do 3 meals a day and the menu rotates every 6 weeks. There's enough variety if somebody is a picky eater, they'll find something for you.

I did a tour of Crest View Manor. It's a really nice place, but the drawback there was in every room they had a bathtub that the person had to slide on a seat to take a shower. I was worried about my dad with that. Everybody was great. The people were wonderful there. It has nice rooms, but the bathtub thing was a problem. One thing that I really liked about it is when they personally check on the residents in the morning, when they get them dressed. There's more personal care, and I liked that rather than assuming that they'll push a button if they have a problem, because my dad won't do that. I liked that they came and helped them get dressed, and that they escorted them to the meals, and they checked them when they went to bed. I liked that a lot, it was very personalized. The facility was nice. It's on top of the hill, so there's some ramps and that might be a little hard. But because they escorted them and helped them in wheelchairs, it would be fine. Everything was clean and seemed very nice. The staff were excellent.

My mother has been in Crest View Manor for two months now. It's been great. It has even floors to go out, so she can easily get outside. She has a great view,, and she has sunshine. The staff seems caring and on task. The building is appropriate for the era or age of the tenants, so it's not particularly modern; I think the people there like it. They have crafts, bingo and music.

My mother was at Crest View Manor. It was excellent and it was top rate. They were accessible, communicated well, and the facilities were excellent. The caregivers were very attentive. All-in-all it was a very good experience. The food was varied and well prepared.

My friend, Velna has been living at Crest View Manor for about 5 weeks now. I recently saw her for her 89th birthday and was amazed at the improvements I saw: She has not been this happy in a long time.....She is calm and brimming with happiness and enthusiasm about living at Crest View Manor.....Her walking is stronger and more stable with better balance as she uses her walker.....She enjoys the beautiful view as she uses her walker to go to the dining room 3 times a day. She has lost some (extra) weight and at the same time she says she loves the food.....She enjoys some of the activities like BINGO, exercise class, singing old songs to live piano music, etc. She says that everyone is so nice to her that they make her feel a part of the place -- it feels like home. They help her with medications, showers, etc. Actually, to me it feels like a large family where people truly care about each other. If you are reading this, you probably can't believe what I'm saying, but it is true. When I first went there with Velna and another friend for lunch, I was honestly overwhelmed by the wonderful atmosphere there -- of course, after having experienced something different in several other assisted living facilities. I have never experienced anything like this -- I felt I was in a scene from an old time feel good movie -- and the longer I was there, the stronger the impression was -- capped off as we ate our lunch dessert by hearing live Christmas carol singing and piano music coming from the nearby living room. If your loved one has an opportunity to live at Crest View Manor, they are lucky and you can be at peace about their life.

We have my mother-in-law at Crest View Manor right now. She has settled in and seems to like it. The food is excellent. She raves about the food and says that they feed her very well. She is in a single room, which is not too small, with a private bath. They have a housekeeper who vacuums and changes the sheets on the bed whenever she needs it. Everything is done for her. They bathe her twice a week, minimum. Their location is beautiful on top of the mountains, which has a view over the whole city of Escondido. The price is reasonable; it is not the most expensive or the cheapest. The people are very friendly. It is very nice.

Crest View Manor is in a location far enough away from the fast paced city, yet still close enough to visit often. The staff is always friendly and ready to help in any way they can (getting refreshments, guiding us to the appropriate areas of the facility, keeping the family informed on a weekly basis of anything that might have changed in health or otherwise). The facility is very nice. The grounds are kept up and the landscaping is beautiful. The entire are is in a quiet location and overlooks the rest of the city. The rooms our family looked into were all private with an attached bathroom. The staff did mention that there are rooms that are shared, but we didn't look into that option. Overall this facility was very nice. The only thing lacking would be a pool/spa, but with the different levels of health among the residents, I can see why they would choose not to have one.

My mother-in-law resides in this beautifully maintained facility. The rambling structure was once a home owned by the Scripps family, and has been converted to an assisted living facility. The owners have done an amazing job of maintaining the structure, which looks as though it was built in the thirties or forties. Most of the residents seem to have physical rather than mental disabilities. The meals are served in a large, clean dining room, with linen tablecloths. The staff has been kind to my family member. The large porch looks out on to a stunning view of the valley. The room she lives in is clean and she was able to bring some of her own furniture. Another plus is the price--we pay just $3500 a month for everything. She needs assistance with bathing and dressing, but walks independently and can eat her own meals. It's a quiet place.
