My mother has moved into The Gardens at Laguna Springs. What we liked the best is it specialized in just memory care and that also they had LVNs and RNs on staff through all the shifts. We like that attention, too. It's only been a week or so, but we've been there pretty much every day since we moved her in. The staff seemed very good and attentive. They have a great list of activities. There are different levels for Alzheimer's residents, so you need to be very attentive to their needs, prompting for bathing, dressing, feeding, and so on. My mother is one of those who needs those prompts, so good attention to that detail, they were on top of it. We had a couple a meals there, a couple of dinners, and I think a lunch. The food was good with good portions. They provide good dietary needs as needed, depending on the person. They're not fattening foods. I know they have a chef and a dietitian there who coordinates the meals and what they prepare. That was another element that we liked. It's very clean. It's only two years old, so it's a brand new facility. It's still kept up very well, very open, very spacious, and very clean. We didn't see anything dirty or anything anywhere that we saw. We sat through a few activities already. We've done arts and crafts. We've done bingo. We've done word search and creating words out of random letters. They had music playing. We were dancing and singing. They have outdoor activities because they have a big main lounge at the center, an outdoor opening in the middle. They do outdoor activities there, too. They have good games to keep everybody involved and informed. It's pretty good. Everybody's situation is different. This location is a little higher in price than most of the other ones, but all the elements put together for my mother's unique situation and what her needs are, we felt the best there, so we decided to pay a little extra. The services they provide cost more because it involves more labor and more personnel. Then of course, the nurses on staff and everything. We were fine with paying a little more compared to some of the locations that were nice, but not as good.

The Gardens at Laguna Springs was wonderful. From entering in there, you had a disinfectant thing you walk through and I like the registration there. They have a machine for you to take your temperature. It was very pricy, but it's absolutely beautiful. It's like resort living. The staff was wonderful. I believe it only had room for 32, so it was very personalized. Everybody knew everybody. They had activities for them. When we got there, they were going to take them on a little sightseeing tour. It was very organized and very clean. It looks almost like a new facility. The staff during the tour was incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything, answered all of our questions, and was very honest. One of the main things that we wanted to know is what's the lifespan of somebody that goes into memory care, and she was very honest with us, which I appreciated. I definitely recommend the place. It's one of the higher priced, but you get what you pay for. It's beautiful outside and everything's enclosed. Everything is memory care, so it's built around that.

My mom has been staying in The Gardens at Laguna Springs for two weeks now. I think the community is great. They have patient staff and 24-hour nursing, so that's terrific. It's also a new facility. They're professional staff. They have some visitations and study/TV rooms. It's a memory care facility, so they don't have big libraries or tennis courts or anything like that. They've done a few activities there. They have done adult colorings, flower trimmings, and making holiday decorations. It was nice. It could be a little bit more diversified, but it's pretty good overall. The meals are quality. The kitchen is very good. As for value for money, I put a premium on having a 24-hour nurse in there. It's not the cheapest home, but you get what you pay for.

My mom moved into The Gardens at Laguna Springs. We just found the staff there to be very caring, and that was why we chose it. The facility is new.
