My mom has moved into The Commons at Elk Grove. It's great. They're very helpful. The staff is very friendly. They've gone above and beyond for anything they needed to do. My mom loves the food there. Her room is the perfect size and it's everything she needs. The building is beautiful. It's perfect. With regard to activities, my mom does stuff every day. I don't know everything she does, but every day she has been doing activities. They have bingo, exercise classes, and memory care classes. They got a little bit of everything.

The Commons at Elk Grove was an easy-to-navigate facility. It was clean. The people were friendly. The residents were all over the place. They were having activities and enjoying one another's company. The facility had a library, a movie, and all the amenities. No pool, but my sister doesn't care. They had a large dining area. In addition to the large dining area, they had other areas where residents could go and have coffee or mingle for interaction. The staff was visible and attentive to the residents, and very friendly toward me.

The Commons at Elk Grove had very friendly staff. The dining area looked more like a restaurant than some dining area for people. The chef was very nice. They had areas where you could meet with family. They didn't have as many outdoor gathering places, but it was nice. The atmosphere and environment were very pleasing and calming. The halls were wide and easy to get around. The only drawback was that they only had two elevators. My mother-in-law would have had to make sure she had a room close to things, as her mobility decreased. They had a variety of rooms. They had one bedroom. They also had a small kitchenette in the room with a microwave, a counter, a sink, and a refrigerator. The staff members were very pleasant. Their whole culture is like the way the Japanese care for their folks, and we love that. It was very calm and helpful. Some of the staff had been there quite a while, so it was good. They were very accommodating.

My father has moved into The Commons at Elk Grove. There was not much good organization in prepping him for what he can do and not do, but they're straightening that out. It was on a Friday, so it was hard with the weekend right after. The staff though was extremely caring and nice and whenever I asked for something, they jumped on it immediately. The food is not great, but it's good and it's tasty. The chef tries. He has a studio. The common areas are all very nice, very well done, well equipped, and pretty. The outside is very nice. They have an outdoor patio area with a putting green and that's handy. Everything is very clean, very bright, and sunshiny.

My mother has moved into The Commons at Elk Grove. We did assisted living, but she's had issues, so now she's in memory care. Everyone there is friendly. I like their food service; it's open from 7 to 7. It's a clean facility, pretty big, and there's a lot of room. Overall, it's nice. They have karaoke, movie night, a barbershop beauty salon, a TV room, they do aerobics, and they do trivia. They have quite a few things there. So far, the staff members are all very helpful and very friendly with my mom. She seems to like the food. We ate there once, and the food was really good. They change their menu every day.

My mother was at The Commons at Elk Grove. It's assisted living with a memory care wing to it. She went in there with my dad, and she started off with the assisted living. With my mom being local there, there were many people that she had known for like 50 years. They had many staff that were exceptional who went over what was expected. They always did more than their job description. They weren't just showing up to work. They cared about the residents there. The food wasn't to my taste, but my parents really liked it. Since many of the residents need to have softer food, everything was kind of more trended that way. They had somebody who kept them physically active. They had games and fun things to do to get them moving. My mother really enjoyed it, and it seemed like the other people did, too. They had different physical things depending on the ability of the residents. They did dance for the ones that can be up and have better balance, and they had stretching and strength training. They had ice cream socials and good quality entertainment that comes in. They had several rooms, and my parents ended up first moving into a one-bedroom facility. When you walk in, you have a kitchenette area to the one side and a little dining area, and there's a small living room and then the bedroom, which is a nice size for one person. It's kind of cramped when there are two. They got to the two-bedroom and it had two bathrooms and a large storage. The main bedroom was big enough for a king size bed or twin beds. They used the second bedroom as their office. My dad was not doing well and they had to change the bed out to a hospital bed for him. You could have a nightstand, a dresser, and a desk in the second bedroom. The living area and dining area were a little bit bigger in the two-bedroom. They had a really nice bistro. You had a menu that you could order off of. They had a room across the way for gatherings and that's where they did the ice cream social. There's a little kitchen area. I hosted my mom's 91st birthday over there. There was plenty of room for the family to visit and kind of have privacy, but there were people walking by in the halls. Mom got recognized by the other residents that she had a special day, so that made her feel great. They had a back patio area where family could eat and visit. In the main dining area they had a grand piano, and they had someone come in and play it, and sometimes the residents would play it. They had different little places where people could gather to play cards or talk or sit on the couch and watch TV together. There's a library and a fitness room. The fitness director didn't just do things in there. She would go to different hallways and try to get all the residents to come out. They were very encouraging. If somebody wasn't wanting to come out, they would really invite them so that they weren't isolating. They were very much concerned about making sure that people interacted. I always saw them trying to maintain and keep things looking fresh. It was a little bit older building, but it felt very comfortable and homey, and you could tell people live there. I was always very comfortable when I went there and everybody knew who I was. It was worth everything that we paid for. I'm still in contact with staff from there. They care about the relationships that they're making with the residents.

The Commons at Elk Grove has just finished up a complete renovation of the facility, so it was very clean. That was the first thing that I noticed, and the fact that the rooms were more like apartments versus everything would be in one room except the bathroom. So, it had a living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom that were all separate. The residents can lock their doors if they want to, but there's also a peephole so that if somebody knocks on their door, they can see who's standing outside. The staff was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and helpful in giving us ideas on how to present this to mom. The dining room was very bright and inviting. We had lunch there and I talked to the chef and told him about my mom's eating. He said he could fix whatever he needed for her. So they're very amenable to meeting the needs of the residents and there was a lot of variety on the menu. They have a lot of activities that they can participate in if they choose to. They have a gym, an exercise room, a huge outdoor setting where they can have a golf putt-putt area set up, plenty of places for the residents to sit, and a library with books and games and stuff like that.

I went to The Commons at Elk Grove. The staff was exceptionally nice. The facility was bright, light, and airy. There was a good vibe there, and the people that were living there seemed to enjoy being there. Overall, I liked the facility and physically the way it looked. There was a one bedroom. There was a two bedroom, and a studio. Very nice. I was pleasantly surprised because I haven't been in the facility for about 20 years. And at that time, that was not a good experience. The staff was knowledgeable, she answered all of my questions, and she posed some good questions to me. It was just a wonderful experience.

I visited The Commons at Elk Grove. They have different levels. They have everything from independent living down to memory care. We went obviously to the memory care. It was great. I liked that they have a separate section for just the memory care patients and separate from everything else and very secure. It's built in a circular way so that nobody can get lost. They have things to get them engaged. The facilities were very nice. They're not aged or old. We looked at a semi-private. They have their own room, but they share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The rooms were roomy and nice. This facility only had 20 people that are in memory care. It's a small group and everybody knew everybody. The food looked good. Everything was nice and clean and it looked fairly new. It's almost resort living. They've got little areas for them, outside patios, and a lot of places to hang out with family. It was very impressive.

My dad is a resident of The Commons at Elk Grove. I like them because they are clean, and the staff is courteous and polite. They have all kinds of activities for him. They have a lawn and garden. They have appliances in the rooms, but not in the memory care.

We are choosing The Commons at Elk Grove for my father-in-law for the fact that this place will be able to care for him from assisted living through hospice. We're moving him in this week and he's going to start at their assisted living. The staff is very thorough, very, very nice, and very caring. They have several different activity centers and lots of things for the seniors to do. It's clean too, we've been there a couple of times. They have a small gym, a salon, and a movie theater. They have several laundry rooms throughout the place. They also have a restaurant or a great room that looks like a restaurant. I think they have a small library too.

The Commons at Elk Grove is a very nice community. Our move-in was effortless because we had very nice people who helped us. The only thing is that they only have one restaurant. A lot of the places we looked at had more than one restaurant, but the rooms are really nice and spacious. My brother has a one-bedroom apartment. They're really good in helping him with his medication. They have a lot of amenities too, like a musical night every Friday in which a musician comes in and sings, popcorn nights, cards games, and bingo. It's a beautiful place.

I went to The Commons at Elk Grove. It was very positive, it was clean, it was organized, and I liked it. They were very kind. I did not try the food, but they did give me some cookies. It's a very updated decor. The rooms units were somewhat updated. I think they were considerate of the age group that they were serving, so that was good to know. They have a beauty shop, exercise, they have lots of activities, movie nights, and lots of things for them to do if they choose to do so. I think that they kind of fit all the needs of senior care.

The Commons at Elk Grove was OK. Their prices were higher than some of the others, and their actual units weren't as big. They have exercises, and we passed by some of their facilities, but because of COVID we were not able to go in. The staff was OK; they did a good job. They offered for us to get a meal, but we didn't do that.

My Mother has lived at the commons at Elk Grove for 1.5 years and the last 9 months have been under COVID restrictions. They have handled the ever changing climate very well. They have kept the impact to the residents as minimal as possible while keeping them safe! The procedures they have adhered to ie everyone must wear a mask when in the common areas and the staff must wear a mask at all times. Temp is taken 2 times a day. They have activities either in groups of 10 if possible or in the hall when not possible but at all times restricted to no more than 10 and appropriately separated, they also deliver each resident's meals and the variety is good. Obviously everyone gets bored and lonely, but the staff is very proactive to provide activities and exercises the residents can do in their apartments. They have done exceptional during these hard times. Staff is exceptional always friendly and available to help. There is a very good variety of rooms, some with porches which are good to have if you have a dog. My mother has one of the smallest apartments and we were able to get all her favorite things moved in. The Pre Covid activities were fun and entertaining! Well worth the cost.

We visited my mom's friend at The Commons at Elk Grove and also got a tour of the place. At the time they had a seven month waiting list. The other place I saw had more outside activities, not just going on shopping trips or to the doctor. They also had groups of people that play bridge and do little exercises. I was very pleased because it's also a very nice place, and that made it hard to decide.

We visited Commons at Elk Grove and it was pretty nice. The visit was fine, very friendly, and informative. They had a physical therapist on site, they had a pretty good variety of residents that were active in that age group, and they gave us one of the best cookies I've ever had. The staff was very nice.

I was not that impressed with The Commons at Elk Grove. It seemed like a big room and there was a bunch of little rooms where you could get lost at the end of the hall. The staff during the tour wasn't one of the main people, so she wasn't really able to answer all our questions and that didn't help. The main dining area looked fine and large. It was a little busier than what she was looking for or than what she would be comfortable with.

The Commons at Elk Grove is very nice. My father's room is very nice. They have an incredible amount of activities, exercise every day, activities for balance for those that have tough times with their walkers, sing-alongs, card games, Skip-Bo, bingo, Black Jack, and ice cream socials. I've eaten there and it's delicious. The staff is wonderful. I'm pleased for what you get for your money.

The Commons at Elk Grove was gorgeous. It looked very solid. Everything looked nice, clean, and comfortable. Commons at Elk Grove has several amenities. They have a salon, a library, and an informal meeting room. All the guests that I saw looked very happy and content. The room was a 2-bedroom; however, there was no kitchen. That was what I was interested in having, and it was the one thing that was very important to me.

The Commons at Elk Grove was a nice facility, but the woman who gave me the tour couldn't answer most of my questions. As soon as you walk in their lobby, there was a scented plug-in that was so strong, it gave me a headache. Everything else was nice and clean. I didn't get a good feeling about it, partly because the woman giving me the tour wasn't as personable or she seemed distracted, but she looked very professional. The facility was just as nice and well maintained as the others that I looked at. The woman showed me double and single apartments. They had buses that would take the clients out if they needed to go to appointments, and it's very well organized. They sign up if they want to go somewhere. They have a beauty parlor, exercise facility, and bingo nights. They keep them busy and encourage family to come on family days.

My mom has moved into The Commons at Elk Grove. She moved in on Thursday. The place is very clean. The staff is exemplary. Everyone has been wonderful. The people have been extremely helpful. It was a late move-in and my mom has had a lot of people dropping in and checking in on her. They even brought breakfast up for her. They have been extremely helpful, attentive, and quick to respond to services and requests. I think the personnel have far exceeded what we expected. The meals have been very good. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they also have a small bistro where you can get snacks. They have a bus for the residents too.

The Commons have both independent and assisted living. You get the basic services, like food and transportation. If you need other services, you add them on for an additional fee. The facility is beautiful, it's bright, and clean. The layout is very nice, and the residents decorate the doors of their apartments. They had a nice fitness area, salon, and gym. The dining room and the menu was very nice, and everything was newer. They have art classes and movies. The 2-bedroom apartment I saw was a nice size.

When you drive up to The Commons you don't get the impression that it's senior care. When you walk up to the desk, you can tell that the people there are happy with their jobs. The layout in the entry way to the front desk is like a resort. They have a formal dining room, the decor is very beautiful, and we were both impressed. It was peaceful and serene.

Having a parent move into assisted living is difficult. We made an appointment with Latoya to tour the facility with my mom. Sure it looks great but my concern was how do the staff interact with the residents. Latoya could not have been more friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything, answer all questions and gave us an extensive tour. Most of the other staff members welcomed us with open arms as,well even though a decision to move in had not been made yet. Latoya invited us to have lunch with the residents and the food was delicious. My mom recently moved in and she loves it there. Thank you Latoya for making this a great experience for my mom and for making us feel at ease.

The assisted living at The Commons at Elk Grove was really nice, and then we went into their memory care unit; it was like night and day. I didn't like it. I didn't like their furnishings. I didn't see any staff. We just did not have a good feeling about it at all. The rooms were nice. As far as the common living area, it was kind of small. It really didn't look inviting. They have a lot of activities. They have field trips, music going on, sing alongs, and games.

The people are doing a good job at The Commons at Elk Grove. My mom has been there for a little over two weeks. It is a good place. She has a private room, and it is spacious. It has a one little bedroom and a little living area in it. She said the food is really good. The dining area is nice.

We liked the look of The Commons at Elk Grove; it was very spacious with a caring and helpful staff. We liked where it is located in the town. They have very good food. The rooms are clean and big enough. It definitely meets my mother's needs.

My wife was at the Commons of Elk Grove. It was clean, but there was actually no interaction, I might say. I saw, once or twice, somebody come in to play a piano, but that was about it.

The Commons was a good facility. The reason I moved her out is because the rates just kind of exorbitant. She had a fairly large 1-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. The staff was fine, but because it's a large institution they have a lot of turnover. There would be different people over time. The food was very good and the dining room was like a very nice restaurant. They have a lot of recreation like outings, at least 3 or 4 times a week. And they have a lot of activities, like exercises, bingo, music, and informational seminars. It just didn't fit into my cost structure after a while.
