I was at Brookdale Diablo Lodge for a month. It was nice, kept up better, and wasn't so run down. It was much better run and organized. The food had a good variety and was just prepared better. It seemed like a higher quality. The staff was great, and the facility was a little more modern. They had activities, and I was satisfied with their services.

My parents are moving into Brookdale Diablo Lodge. It was a balance of a very nice facility - the cost of care and also the quality of care. It was a very nice building. It's kind of an old-school charm. The rooms were a little bit smaller than some of the places that I looked at, but it's perfect for them. I also liked that the rooms had either a balcony or a patio, which was very nice. The dining area was very nice. It looked like a very nice restaurant. It had very high vaulted ceilings. It just had a nice feel to it. The staff seemed professional, sincere, and helpful. The facility looked a little outdated. Some of the things need to be upgraded, but it's overall very nice. They had a beauty salon/barber shop, a small gym, a library, a mailroom, and some very nice outdoor spaces. They do your laundry and they will clean up the room once a week. They had entertainment and transportation to various restaurants.

I visited the Brookdale Diablo Lodge. They gave me a pie. It had a beautiful back patio, and there was a walkway behind it. I like that the dining was available any time. It really was a nice facility. I really liked it there. It was just more expensive. We just thought since this is our first assisted living experience, we went with the much less expensive option. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. He did a very good tour. They have bay windows (which I'm not really a lover of). Bay windows are hard to keep looking new. The rooms that I saw had kitchenettes, so it had a refrigerator and a microwave. They had activities. What I liked about them is they had a specific weekly art program, and they have a specific art room for that. I feel like the dining area was more restaurant type. It's kind of open to the general area. It's the room right next to their big multiarea. It's got high ceilings, tablecloths, and stuff like that.

I went to Brookdale Diablo Lodge. The cleanliness was fine, and everybody seemed to be welcoming. Everything looked good. It was just for us, that particular place was too far out for our situation. Otherwise, it would have been all right. They showed us the floor plans. They have a couple of good choices in there.

We visited Brookdale Danville Diablo Road for my mother-in-law. They had a lot of different kinds of activities for the residents, like bingo, different outings into town to go shopping, and things like that. Some of their amenities are a library, beauty salon, exercise area and a theater.

Brookdale Danville Diablo Road was nice and the people were nice. It's a little better kept up than the other place, but the rooms were too small for us. The facilities were a little bit better. The person who assisted me was very nice. There was an exercise class going on while we were there, but it was a little more sedated than we're used to. We're very active and we actively participate in the gym and golf, and the exercises at Brookdale were subdued compared to what we're used to.

Brookdale Danville Diablo Road had a beautiful setting, and the restaurant was good. Mom was there for about a year, but their activities were bad and service was not good. The place was old and renovated, but they didn’t do a good redecorating job. It was disconcerting every time I went in there. They tried to retrofit the rooms, but if you are in a wheelchair, you would not be able to get into the shower without assistance. It was really badly designed. The grounds and the food were the only things that were good.

Brookdale Danville Diablo Road is only assisted living and not senior living. The staff was very nice, but once we found out that’s all it was, we just sort of kind of stopped taking the tour. We did not see the rooms. We were invited in the dining area and we thought it seemed very nice. It was very nice and everything, but we didn’t spend anytime because we were not looking for assisted living. But they were very pleasant and everything was good.

My mom has been there for three years, and it was wonderful. When Emeritus bought it, the conditions started going down. It became dirty, and they were not doing a lot of the things they told us they were doing for my mom. Then Brookdale bought it, and it got increasingly worse. The nurses are wonderful. The people who work there are really nice. I think it is a management or corporate thing. They don’t clean the carpets. My mom’s room is always dirty. We had a plumbing issue, and we waited a month or so for them to fix it. It was just really poor care. We did not have any problems with the food at all; it was very good. My mom would always mention that the food and the staff are wonderful.

I found the Brookdale through a friend, and it’s close to my house. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. The food is good -- like a restaurant -- with good food selections. The grounds are good, but they need to change their carpet in the dining room as it kind of stained. The neighborhood is great, and they really have good activities. I think they could have done a better job on welcoming. It’s almost like a hotel.

Emeritus was one of my favorite. The people were very nice, and the facility was quite up to the others. The way we were received, greeted, and shown around, you really feel welcome. The spaces that we looked at; the actual apartments were very nice. They were spacious, they have their own little patio/balcony area, and they were very roomy. The whole place was homey. Every room never felt close to anywhere. It sits on a creek just with the love bird patio, and again the people who welcomed us and showed us around were lovely. Its interiors are outdated, and sanitation appeared to be fine.

I think the overall environment of Emeritus at Diablo Lodge is really well kept. I think that is the most appealing. The facility is nice and clean. It has nice furniture and amenities. The staff is very accommodating and they are willing to listen to your needs and your concerns. It has a nice outdoor area which was important for my parents. I would recommend this facility, but I think the food could be a little bit better. My parents kind of complain about the food.

My mom is in Emeritus at Diablo Lodge. This is our choice because of the ease for her to move around in the facility and also for the cost. I'm impressed with the staff too. I didn't experience the meals but my mom says she enjoys them and she hasn't complained about too many of those. The facility is beautiful. The setting is really pretty on the outside area. She has a nice room. I like her room because it is easy for her to get around in it and because she needs a place that is on the first floor, so again, it is easier for her to go to the dining room and all the activities.

Emeritus was a fine facility. I was only there for probably 15 minutes and we had a quick tour of the place. It seemed very clean and very nice. The staff was fine too. However, the facility was too big for my mother and it didn't fit what we needed at that time.

My grandma had stayed here and enjoyed it. The facility were all very clean and what they told us was that they had an open door policy. Which was if my grandma had any questions she would be able to ask at any time. The food was average, but healthy. Eggs were severed nearly everyday and the staff there were mostly very helpful and friendly. Of course, there were some that were not as nice, but there were not a lot of them. Many of them were patient and helped my grandma with daily activities. The ladies there were very courteous to her when she used the bathroom or showered. Also, sometimes they would have events that cheers them up. My grandmas favorite was SMART Dogs, which was a pet therapy event. They would all line up in the lobby and stay there. The people working for SMART Dogs would show us the tricks there dogs could do. The people working for SMART Dogs would also try to talk to them or see if anyone had questions. My grandma loves dogs, so she would love to interact with the workers there and pet or play with them. Overall, I would say this is a friendly place and very organized.

This is a lovely facility that offers both independent living and assisted living. It looks like a small, cheerful 2-story hotel with a nice garden in the back. They offer studios and 1 or 2 bedroom apartments. It's across from a school, near residences in a mixed neighborhood but not commercial. The staff is very good"”professional and caring. And they do a good job with medication management. The facility offers many activities, day trips, Music. Games. And the food is good"”high quality. The kind of person who does best here"”from my perspective as a geriatric care manager"”is someone who's a bit frail, can't drive anymore, but is mentally high functioning.
