The staff is amazing. Everything they do has a specific reason that benefits my mom in the memory care. It's a brand new facility. When you walk in, they make you feel like a family. My mom just went in last Thursday, and it's been an amazing experience so far. They treat them with respect and dignity, and I really like that. They have a nice dining room, activity rooms, and indoor/outdoor activities. There are things going on all the time that engage them. It's wonderful. They only stay in their room pretty much just to sleep. They have executive chefs, and the food is absolutely amazing. We ate two meals with mom. My daughter went to an open house that they had, and she tasted food from around the world. 90% of the food that they do is fresh, and it is as good as any restaurant I've ever been to.

I toured Park View Place. The property itself is beautiful and everything that it offers. They're accommodating. They're sensitive to the fact that she lost everything in a fire, so they're willing to go ahead and furnish the apartment for her. I just thought that the staff was very professional and very caring, so that's what I'm looking for, and also the location. It's a great place. It's immaculate, very warm, and very clean, and it's only three years old.

I visited Park View Place. I was very pleased with the beauty of the hillside that this retirement center is built into. I did tour both the one-bedroom and studio apartments. There were several different floor plans. One of the things that I liked about it is that if I was interested in independent living, I would be able to park my car in the underground garage. I did see the exercise room and the dining room and the various activities that are planned by the staff there. I was not unimpressed by it. I really liked it, but now that I think back, I'm thinking about whether it's in an area that seems safe from fire and stuff like that. It was a multistory facility, so I went up to the floor that was independent living because I'm still living independently myself. The next floor down was the assisted living if you needed a little more help. I liked the fact that each unit had a little outdoor porch that overlooked a park. It's a beautiful place to look out from. I liked the fact that the units were very nice and clean and it was clear that the bathrooms had recently been refurbished and had the senior citizen in mind, for example, like a place to sit down when you're taking a shower, if that's what you need, and so on. I liked that the studio had a dividing wall in it that allowed you to have like a little sitting room. Right over on the other side of the wall was the bedroom area. It was generally pretty comfortable and very nicely kept and clean. I was interviewed by a young woman who comes from the same area of the world that I grew up in, so that made it extra nice. I didn't actually meet the manager because I did it on a Saturday and he was not working that day or was coming in later, but I had a very nice tour. I saw the other accommodations like the washer and dryer and that kind of thing. The washer and dryer was in a separate unit. It wasn't in the unit that I was visiting.

What I love about Park View Place is that it's super new. It's only two years old. And it's very clean. The staff was very good. They gave us a tour of everything. Everything was super clean. I like their setup on how they do things. Instead of calling it a cafeteria, they call it the restaurant and it's open from 7 to 7, so the residents can go in at any time. There's not a schedule like what my mom had at the other assisted living where she was. And I like that part of it a lot. It's open 12 hours. And you can order whatever you want. Just because it's breakfast, doesn't mean you have to have breakfast. You have lots of options and people just go in and out as they please. It's very elegant looking. The staff who gave the tour was very personable. He was awesome. He was very good. He showed us everything. Even though we said we were only interested in a studio, he gave us the option to look at everything they had, so we could choose from that, and that's what we did. He took us everywhere and explained as we went. It was a very good tour. Regarding food, the day we went there, they had duck and my mom loves duck.

We had a good time at Park View Place. It's very nice. The rooms are good. We were looking at one and two bedrooms. It is like a big apartment building. We found the place acceptable. We didn't seem to have any problems, except the food may have been different. The staff seemed to be OK. I talked to a few, not a lot of people, and everybody was friendly and seemed to get along with us. There's just something not quite right about the food. My wife is an excellent cook and there's just not a good touch in it that my wife has.

I went to Park View Place. The apartment has huge, huge doors. They had stoves. It was an inductive stove. They had a bedroom and a living room. There was a nice bathroom. All of them have walk-in showers. It had a shower seat, one of the teakwood or whatever it is, shower seats. They had a restaurant. We ate there. They had tablecloths and silver service. It was upscale and elegant. The dining room chairs are like what you would have in your house. The furnishings were a little more upscale. The decor that they decided on at Parkview was different but still new.

Park View Place was a little bigger. They had more rooms and it was a lot nicer. It felt more homier as opposed to the other facility I saw. The other one had fluorescent lighting, this one had the home style lighting. The cafeteria area was a lot bigger, like a restaurant size, and there was a lot of staff. They seemed really on top of everything, but it was also more expensive. I saw people finishing up their food and the food looked really good. There were a lot of different activities they were doing at the time and they had a much broader calendar of activities and much more diverse with several different types of activities. Because it was a bigger place, they had more things to go to and to do.
