Westmont at San Miguel Ranch had a balcony that looked out on a lawn, kind of a big grassy area, where there's a bunch of crows. So, you didn't feel like you were looking at the traffic. The apartments were nice. They seemed airy. It's just not as big as Mom wanted it to be, but the apartment itself was nice. The library was more like an extension of the hallway. The building was good and it was very clean. The atmosphere seemed upbeat. The carpets were not very light and that always made everything seem a little darker, but the room itself was great. It was light.

We're hoping to move my father into Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. I liked that the atmosphere was very open and very clean. It looked like they had a lot of activities. I saw some of the residents, but not a lot because I came in kind of during the mid-time, so they already had their breakfast. But from what I've seen, I just liked the surroundings of it, how it was laid out, and how the rooms looked. I liked the staff that helped me. The receptionist was OK, but she just wasn't overly welcoming. I want somebody who, when I come into a room, has a big smile on her face and is happy. My dad had breakfast while we were waiting for the marketing person and he seemed to like it. He ate almost everything. As far as the presentation went, it looked good. The building looked very modern. The way it was decorated was very contemporary.

I went on a physical tour of Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. The tour was nice. It seemed like they had updated everything. It was under new management, and it had a modern feel to it. They're the ones that had a vegan menu. It had a very open and accepting social community. They had celebrations for LGBTQ and a very inclusive layout. Their common areas were lovely, and it felt very much like a living room. People smiled and said hello. We watched people play games and they smiled at my kids. Everything there was much more like living in a high-rise community where, when you take the elevator, you can just get off and be wherever you need to be, so that's so nice. Very central locations for everything. So that one was an enjoyable experience. The staff was outstanding. They counseled us through some of the things that we were still learning as far as payments and social workers. They worked to educate us on the care of my mother and what kind of questions to ask. Even though we decided to go another route, they still were very informative. So that speaks highly of their knowledge of the market for the people who are actually in this predicament for the first time. They're very, very helpful. They had a meal house that was open all day. They had meal times but then they also had the ability to make you what you wanted if you called down, which was important because my mom's schedule wasn't always like normal meal time. They had a very safe courtyard that was all enclosed and very thoughtfully designed so that it wouldn't bring in anything that was an unpleasant view. They were open to visiting pets coming into the courtyard and they had a separate portion for people that maybe couldn't accommodate visitors or guests. They had different courtyards for different setups.

Westmont at San Miguel Ranch was nice and well-kept. Everything was clean. The apartment was also very nice. The one thing that I would like to add that I liked better about Westmont at San Miguel Ranch was that the bathroom is connected to the bedroom so you'd be able to go from your bedroom to the bathroom. That's a big deal when you're using the bathroom in the middle of the night, that it's just an easier access to get to it. I noticed that that was a better use of the space, especially when older people need to go to the bathroom. Having it connected right next to your bedroom is a little bit more convenient. My dad stayed at Westmont at San Miguel Ranch, so this particular person I talked to when I toured the place remembered my dad and was personable. She had a lot of nice things to say about my dad and how there were so many positive things that he did. He helped there when he was there. She asked my mother-in-law about herself, which I think is important because they don't need to know about me. They need to know about her. They have so many activities. You get on a bus, you can go to the store, and you have access to getting to their doctor's appointment. They have exercise throughout the day, trivia, games, and all those types of things that you can participate in. Their food was great. We noticed that the portions that they had seemed to be just right. They didn't give a whole plateful, so you wouldn't be wasting it, but then they also didn't give you a small enough portion where you would probably still be hungry. They were also flexible in what they gave us and I appreciate that.

I was very favorably impressed with Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. I toured their memory care. It was very clean, it was very peaceful, and the staff was all very kind, friendly, and helpful. It was extremely attractive. Every section that I saw was very attractively done. I saw an exercise class in session during my visit but that's the only thing I saw happening at the time. I was told that the food is delicious and I like the fact that my mom, should she be a resident, would be helped to the different activities so that she could be a participant and be active. The information they gave was great and the gal who gave me the tour, we sat and had a conversation first, gathered a lot of information about my mom's situation now, and gave me some helpful hints. I would give it an A-plus rating from what I saw.

We signed a contract for my mom at Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It's been great so far, and we hope it will stay that way. The staff member who assisted me during the tour was really helpful, really kind, and very sensitive to everything that's going on in my mom's life. They are really great. The place has a great building that's very well taken care of, it's nicely decorated, and has nice amenities. It's as nice as we can hope for. The rooms are comparable to others we had looked at, but in some ways they are more upgraded. My mom is going to have a room on the top floor of the building, and it has 12-foot high ceilings which makes it feel much bigger. The room also has a pretty juliet balcony which makes her feel like she's outside without being outside. The kitchen is well appointed, it has stainless-steel appliances, nice countertops and cabinets, and everything is in very good shape. They were painting and getting it all cleaned up after the previous tenant when we were there. We had lunch there and it was very good. We ordered different things and we liked what we had. The staff was very friendly.

Westmont at San Miguel Ranch was very nice. The staff who accommodated me was very polite and helpful. The dining area was fine, neat, and clean. They had a small theater and recreational/entertainment room. It was more for ambulatory people than the aged ones.

We found The Westmont for my mother, and she's happy there. It was way better than anything we saw. She's in a studio size apartment, and it was extremely clean, but they also had 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments. We're very pleased with it, and my mom loves it.

We’ve already placed my sister in a community called Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It’s very good, and my sister is very happy. We’ve been very happy, and she has already been on several of the activities. She has been able to catch the bus from there and go back to her own church. The eating area is very nice; it’s like a restaurant that’s setting of about 20 choices on the menu. She got a large, L-shaped studio; one part of the L shape is about 30x15, and the other part is about 20x12.

I am living at Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It's new, and the food is very good. The apartments are large, and it's just a very nice place all in all. There's something going on every day.

We ended up putting mom in Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It’s a very small community. It’s beautiful, quiet, and very clean. Everything is very good. We love it there. The staff is wonderful and very caring. They keep them busy. They have a lot of activities that they do. It’s a small group of people, so you get more individualized care. The food is excellent. The dining area is very cozy, nice, and clean. They have an actual chef that does the food, so the food is delicious.

My grandmother has actually made her decision, and right now she’s in the process of getting the doctor’s clearance; then, we’ll contact the facility to set the date. She's moving into Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. The whole facility is just gorgeous. It is set on its own property, so that is really nice. There is not a lot of traffic in the area, but it’s also centrally located to some of the other stores. On the west side, it looks like it is isolated and up on a hill with nothing around, but it actually has some shopping and dining just right across the street. The location of it is really good. It’s also really close to my grandpa, which is a factor in her deciding which facility. Also, they have a lot more customization as to whatever she wants. Like if she wants to move different furniture or if she wants something different as a meal, they’re a little more catering to her. We spent a lot of time there, all the people were really nice, and they had a lot more activities. Also, the one that I like that I don’t think my grandmother realize is it’s a non-smoking facility. There’s no smoking. My grandmother smokes, and she needs to not smoke, so being there is going to make it difficult for her to smoke because she has to go all the way out of the property; she won’t be able to do that. So I really like that it’s non-smoking because not only that she cannot smoke but she also will not be tempted to smoke by other smokers. The only thing is I would have liked to see is more outdoor community areas for just the family. They do cater to families coming in; there is reserved seating and separate dining that you can rent out. The theater is gorgeous. They do have the Wii, and I’m sure it would be more of a hazard maybe to have more outdoor activities, but I would like to see my grandmother being more active outdoors.

Westmont at San Miguel Ranch is a small facility. I like their exercise room, and the dining area was very nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had a gym, but not a pool. The residents seemed to be quite happy.

I visited Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It was very nice but just too far from the house. It was a little hotel-like, but it was very nice. It would probably be my second choice for my mother. It was very nice. It may be a little too much for what she needs, but it was fine. I didn't see anything negative about it except maybe it was a little overdone. The rooms were larger than average. They had a washer and dryer, which my mother doesn’t need. They had a kitchenette in all rooms. I looked at the menu, and it was fine. The way they catered to their residents stood out to me. They seemed to know them all and looked after them. They would feed them no matter what time they showed up in the dining room.
