My mom's overall experience in Pacifica Senior Living Bonita has been good. In 10 years, it was sold 4 times and it was Atria Bonita until last December. The experience has been good and I have no complaints at all about the facility. She has a studio and it's very nice. She's on the third floor, which she chose because she likes being on that floor. All the activities are on the second floor and the dining is on the first floor. She has a very nice room with a view of the common area and the garden outside. She also has a little porch and a little patio. The upkeep is good in general. She needed to have her air conditioner replaced and it took quite a while to get that done but as far as general maintenance, it's been fine. I have no complaints about it. The staff has been good. There's been a few people she hasn't cared for, but over the years, I have not had any complaints about their staff. The food and the dining areas have always been good too. She's 102 now but when she went in, she was 92 and was really active. There is a lot to do every day from Bridge to Bingo to Trivial Pursuit. They have an area with a gym too. She used to sing in a singing group when she first went in, but I don't think that's still going on. There are plenty of things and activities there. They have movie nights, an early evening movie thing. There's a long list of things to do every day. There are at least 4 or 5 things to do. It is a beautiful facility. I would recommend it to anybody. Since Pacifica Bonita bought it, she's had like a $300 almost $400 increase and nobody seems to be able to explain why. I've been dealing with it since December and they keep telling me they're going to figure out what is going on with her rent. I keep paying the rent. We've been paying $3700, which for a level 1 assisted living, I think, is a great value for what she's getting. Then it went up to almost over $4000 and I'm struggling to try to understand that. I've not been able to get anything done but I think they are actively trying to keep it around that. I'm just afraid if it goes too much over $4000, we would need another place to put her. When the place sells, it's always difficult but I know other places have the same issues and that's what my problem is with them right now.

I like the spaciousness of the rooms at Pacifica Senior Living Bonita. I liked that a couple of the rooms that we looked at have balconies or a patio. There are lots of different rooms where people can meet with their families. These rooms were spacious, clean, and we liked the great library, the music room, and the pianos everywhere. I like the director, who runs it. A few times when we were talking with her, she got up to help somebody that she saw behind us needed some help. She's willing to interrupt her time with us in order to help a resident. I thought that it was good to prioritize that. They actually would have been our first choice, but Mom wanted to have a one-bedroom instead of a studio. So, she wanted a bigger place. Their kitchenette areas were very, very tiny. There's a very tiny half fridge and a little countertop where the microwave goes. So, there's not a whole lot of food prep area. I liked the building a lot, though. It was easy to navigate. The atmosphere felt upbeat and everything was light. Nothing was too dark.

Pacifica Senior Living Bonita Living was very nice. It was a much smaller facility than the other one. They were very friendly. The patients seemed like they were happy. The person who toured me was very helpful and very nice. The rooms were fine. They were nice and clean. The dining area looked nice. We didn't sample any food. In terms of activities, we saw people playing cards, and they had a movie room, too.

We toured Pacifica Senior Living Bonita. We had very good experiences talking to the staff and figuring things out at the onset, but the onsite tour was a little bit less exciting and dynamic than we hoped for. It had a little bit more of an old-school nursing home kind of feel with its library and hairdressing station, all sort of put out into one common area. You could see it all, and so it just seemed like easy accessibility. The room we saw was wonderful. It was one of their studio rooms with a mini-kitchen. It had a terrace on the first floor. They would have accepted my mom's dog. These things were the highlight for us. However, it seemed a little bit dated. They had a little movie theater, but it was more like a home theater than a more modern amenity. The hair salon had old-school hair dryers and chairs. It's a little barbershop, and it was cute.

Pacifica Senior Living Bonita was clean. We weren't impressed with it as much as the other place because of its location to our house. The rooms weren't as big as those at the other facility. The staff was knowledgeable. They have a courtyard area, a gym, and a library. The hospital is down the road, maybe about three or four miles.

Terrible experience. Constant staff turn over, billing increase without notice, not refunding prorated community fee as per contract.

I went to Pacifica Senior Living Bonita. It was pretty decent. It looked clean and orderly. The staff who helped me was informative. They have a library, TVs, and movies. But they need to be a little bit more affordable.

We chose Pacifica Senior Living Bonita for our mother because it was probably the most reasonable in San Diego. It was the most affordable with similar amenities as the more expensive ones. However, the communication with the staff and the director is not as I hoped, especially at the beginning of a transitional move-in. It's a little unclear what's included in the level of care that I'm paying for. She hasn't participated in any activities yet. She just moved in. The facilities are good. They have a courtyard, a salon, an activities room for games and a pool table, and a cinema night.

It was relatively new as far as hallways and architecture. Everything just seemed relatively modern and contemporary. It was very nice. They have independent living and assisted living, and the one I saw was independent living. The staff was great. They have a central courtyard, television room, and library. I only saw the studio and it was nice. The only thing inside the room was a little sink, cabinets, and a mini-fridge. It was more like a hotel where all the room doors open up to the hallway. The rooms had a balcony that either looks into the central courtyard or outside away from the building.

I went and did an in-person tour. We just saw a room, a studio, and she explained what the one-bedroom would look like. It looks nice, the model rooms they're all fixed up, they're very small.
