Oakmont of Carmichael was way too expensive. The ground was beautiful. It's a beautiful place. The staff who gave the tour was very businesslike though. He didn't have the compassion that the other staff had. They had activities on the calendar. Their activities looked like six hours a day, although we didn't see anything happening when we were there. We were there late in the morning before lunch. The price was horrible; it was so outrageous. The facility was clean and great.

Oakmont of Carmichael was an excellent facility. It looked brand new. The tour person and the staff were very knowledgeable. They had different activities going on throughout the day. They have lots of different spaces for them to meet and socialize. They had tried to promote social interaction. They responded to the level of care that my parent would need. It's also extremely pricey, but you get what you pay for. I was very impressed with the whole facility, especially the individualization of the programs that they seem to be able to do there. I got to see the one private room. Even the shared rooms did not seem crowded there. They gave a feeling of space. The private room was big enough to make it accommodating for a few personal items. The bathroom was very spacious. The staff was very helpful, very understanding of the process that we're going through, and talked about having support for the family. The anecdotes showed how they individualized for a person's needs and their difficulties transitioning. They let them have the freedom that they could have in choosing their menu or items. It was a fast-food kind of thing, but they would assist them with their dining. They have several options for the main meals and then snacks throughout the day. So that was a nice and homey feeling for a dining area.

I visited Oakmont of Carmichael. The community itself is gorgeous. The staff was informative. The rooms I rate a five, they were very nice. It looked extremely clean, very nice, and well-kept. When I visited, they were doing flu shots there. The outdoors is well-kept and clean. They were too expensive.

I went to Oakmont of Carmichael and saw both the assisted living and the memory care. I liked it so much that I told my husband that this is the place that we're going to retire. I saw their menu, and the person who assisted me explained how often they change it. They have a restaurant, a dog park, a garden, and a courtyard too. I saw them doing crosswords, but he also showed me all the other activities they do. It felt like you're in a cruise. He even gave me cookies when I left. He was very nice. What I also liked about it was that the residents have this little electronic device, like a badge, with them. They don't have it in the memory care unit because they don't want people to wander off, but the assisted care has it since they have more independence. I liked the aspect of that extra added component to their security level. He told me about how their laundry services work. He showed me their salon and their kitchenette. He explained to me the difference between assisted care among others. I was able to see a fully furnished model and that you can fix it up how you wanted it. They want you to feel at home. He said that every month, they talk to the community council about changes. Like they used to have movies at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, but the residents wanted to have them no later than 10:30 am. They changed it and that was nice. I was floored at what kind of stuff they get to you. He was more of a salesman kind of. Not that he wasn't good, he was totally professional. It's just the place is much more expensive than the other places, so I understand that.

The caregivers are wonderful and staff, John C., Marketing Director, Nathan, Executive Director, are very attentive to needs of residents. Chef Jones tries to make dishes residents request. Activity Director, Anika, keeps us busy with games, etc.

I want to give a big shout out to the place where my 95 year old dad has been living since February. It is Oakmont of Carmichael on Engle near Mission Avenue. The place is immaculately clean, beautiful and the care he has received from the executive director, marketing staff, care staff and maintenance has been warm and caring. Honestly, can't say enough about the place and the people who run it. Every single request I have made on my dad's behalf has been fulfilled in a timely manner. They really do aim to please and that goes for all the staff I have encountered. No complaints at all. High praise only.

Oakmont of Carmichael was very nice. It looked good on the outside, and it was nice and clean on the inside. It was elegant. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He has called back to check on me numerous times. The dining area looked good. It was packed, but the residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. They were nice crowds. They have group activities and they were talking about Christmas. They have a library, a music room, and a nice fireplace where you can sit and read. Everything seemed nice and clean. The cleanliness was good.

My mother will be moving into the Oakmont of Carmichael. It's very homey, very nice, clean, very well decorated, and the staff is very caring and helpful. They have a really nice movie theater, and she's looking forward to that. The dining area is very nice, and the food is delicious. She has dementia, but she's very high functioning. She's very happy with her studio, and it's pretty big. They have a very nice patio. It's extended, has trees, shade, tables, and benches. We looked at several places, but we liked the Oakmont of Carmichael because it's a smaller facility.

My mother has lived at Oakmont for over 3 years. She is in the Memory Care department and is so well taken care of. The staff is very loving and treat her like she's family. The food is great and we often eat with her. She is always doing some type of activity and keeps quite busy. We as a family love this place because we no longer have to worry about her. They give her all of her medications and make sure she is safe and well taken care of on a daily basis. They include family and friends for all events. They have wonderful brunches and parties all the time. We always look forward to them. From the minute you walk in the door you feel welcome. We cant say enough nice things about BB!! The care staff are the most loving people you could ever find. This place is upscale! Its clean, safe and secure and we think this is the best place our Mom could be.

Caregivers are great so are the med-techs. Most of the staff works well together. The activities are not so good. They are not what we want to do. The food is really not to our taste. We complain, but it does no good.

I'm living in Oakmont of Carmichael. It's a nice place to live. The apartment is just fine. I feel very at home. The people are nice. The staff is very good. I have no complaints. It's very good. They have field trips, they have quite a few of them, but I don't feel comfortable going on them because I'm in a wheelchair.

Thank you for taking the time to review our community. We are so pleased to hear that you feel at home here; that is the best compliment we could receive! I would like to address your concern about going on field trips while in a wheelchair. Our excursions are designed to be enjoyed whether a resident walks unassisted, or with a wheelchair or walker. I would be happy to discuss this with you in person so we can ensure that you can go on any trip that appeals to you; please feel free to stop by my office any time. Warm Regards, Virginia Stone, Executive Director

I like the people and the staff at Oakmont of Carmichael. I like the way they treat the patients, and I like the way it looks. There was a bathroom that separates the 2 beds; she’s got a roommate. Everything is doing well, and I am satisfied that my mom is in there. She is making friends, and so far everything is good.

I personally liked Oakmont of Carmichael because it was a new, very nice place. It was modern and fresh with lots of windows and lights coming in. There was just a good feeling about it. It was a little high in price compared to the other ones we looked at. It had independent people mixed in with assisted people. I would have chosen this place for my sister-in-law, but the price kept getting higher as needs increased.

Oakmont of Carmichael is a very well thought out community, and it's really beautiful. It has all kinds of activities. They had a dog show. They have a nice movie theater area, and they have theater twice a day. They have a dog park, a gazebo in the back, and a center courtyard that's really beautiful. The residents can do a lot of gardening with some fruit trees. It seemed like they have more cultural events there. They have parking for guests and a really big area for smoking, too. They have a visiting doctor that comes in a couple of times a week. They'll come everyday and give the residents a run down on what the next day's events are going to be. They make sure that every individual person knows what's going on all the time. Their dining room is open 3x a day from 7am to 7pm. They have a main dining room and a bistro, and they have a really nice family area to go into if you have a family event.

I’m in Oakmont, and I’m enjoying it very much. The food is good, and the people are very friendly. The rooms are spacious and have a separate bedroom and living room. The food is very good and the dining room is spacious, too. They have live entertainment, bingo, exercise, and plenty of other activities. I was so satisfied with the tour at Oakmont that I didn’t go anywhere else.

Oakmont of Carmichael is absolutely outstanding. They have very nice apartments that had very high ceilings, which are 10 ft. high with large windows that let in a lot of light. The staff was very professional. They have two people who manage the medications, and they have a dining room with private chefs. They have a number of different things and different people on the staff.

Oakmont of Carmichael was fantastic. This is one of the two facilities I was impressed with of the five that I had visited. It seemed to have the best food service. All of their community spaces were well maintained and excellent.

Oakmont Gardens was very nice. It had a memory care department in case they declined and needed to go there. It was just really nice full menu, the staff, and their own little apartments, which were very nice, clean, and brand new. I liked everything about it the people and the activities. I liked how they engaged the people, I liked how clean it was, and I liked the way it was set up as far as assisted living goes. I liked the garden that they had.

Oakmont of Carmichael is brand new. The people are friendly, they have an award-winning chef, their services are impeccable, the grounds are just top-notch, and the rooms -- I was just blown away. If I could live there I would. The meal that I had was amazing, and I have nothing bad to say about it. I would highly recommend them. It is just amazing. Of the places all over town, this is the absolute best for my parents, and they are really excited. They will be moving in on the 8th. I have been there four times with various people, and they have always been so friendly, accommodating, and professional, and they are so willing to help, and not pushy. The care is top-notch, the highest level of care. They have a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment there, and it is less than what they are paying for now. It has got over 1100 sq. ft. with a 10-foot ceiling, and it is done just really professionally. This place is a joy, it is amazing. They are so excited and very, very impressed with the place and the people who run it, all the way down. I have met the maintenance, and they are having the grand opening where it seems we are going to meet the owners of the corporation. I think their award-winning thing is their response time in taking care of their clients and their friendliness in dealing with them, their lookout for the client to the patient and their food. Their food is just like going out to a five-star restaurant every night, and I was so impressed with it. The chef that they have has been on the food network, and so it is top-notch.
