My husband moved into Brookdale Brea. I like the staff. Everybody is very friendly. The residents all seem very happy. They're very welcoming. The food is very good. I've had it myself. They were very gracious to offer food to sample before we made a decision, because that was a big concern for us. Everything is very clean and well-kept, so just overall really good experience so far. They serve three meals a day. They have a very nice dining room. They encourage the residents to go there to eat. Frankly, if you don't go there to eat, there's a charge, so that's encouraging, too. But it is a very pleasant dining area, and they encourage families to come and join in. There's a charge for that understandably, but they do encourage that if you want to. The only challenge with the overall facility is that parking is not always available. Now they had just remodeled and upgraded my husband's room before he moved in, so new cabinetry, everything was painted, a new air conditioning, everything. So, from our perspective, it's very, very nice, and everything is well-maintained. But the parking is a little bit of a challenge. They have a variety of things to do. They have a very nice patio area, too, and the residents are all encouraged to have a role. So they have elected a president, and they have a board, and so they get a lot of engagement. And even in some of the residents' gardens in the patio area, the herbs are used in food preparation. It's just things like that that we didn't find in other places where they are encouraging everybody to participate, contribute, and be part of the community. The other thing that they do that I really appreciate is they honor their veterans.

I toured Brookdale Brea. I thought that was an excellent location. They're very structured. I had a really good tour. They have a lot of programs for seniors with different levels of care, and the tour was very comprehensive. I got to see the living quarters, and the apartment, as well as when I went there I think it was 11:00, and I saw seniors having their lunch. And I saw what was provided. It was excellent. Seniors were getting on the shuttle bus to go on excursions. So I think it's a very well-run organized senior home and they told me that there was a resident who was 110 years old. The second oldest senior in Orange County. So I think I thought that was amazing. I saw the menu. They have the two entrees on display at the entrance of the dining area. So I saw it was very good, just the right portion, I think, for a senior. The receptionist was very friendly, and the person who provided the tour was very, very good. She explained everything in detail, and gave me a lot of information.

Brookdale Brea was on a busy street, but overall, the place was amazing. They have all kinds of stuff there. They take them to the movies, sometimes to the beach. They have bingo, people that come in and speak, and movie nights. They got stuff going every day of the week if you wanted to stay busy. The dining room was beautiful and there's a three-hour window for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, you didn't have to be there at a certain time. The rooms were a good size and clean. That part was great. There's one to share with somebody. It was all good. I had no complaints about any of that. The staff were professional. The place was spotless. People all seemed happy. The staff and the people in that community were friendly with each other. It seemed like a pretty happy place. They have a beauty shop where a girl comes in once a week and does manicures. They do bank runs twice a week or trips to the 99 cents store or library if you want. They got all the things going on all the time.

Brookdale Brea is very thorough and very informative. My mother-in-law was able to pick her own room and have a carpet installed for herself. She's very picky, but she's very happy with the food there. They have an arts and crafts room where she went down yesterday to make jewelry. They have a movie room where she can go and watch whatever they show for the night, which she was very pleased with. The staff is very friendly and very cooperative. They were very helpful at moving her in, getting a cart, and moving her items into the room. To me, they are very young, but they are very attentive and helpful. It's very clean. There's no odor. It smells very fresh there. Her room is very well-kept. They have a laundry room and all the machines are working. Everything seems to be in order and they give you a daily sheet of all the activities for the day.

I toured Brookdale Brea. It was very pleasant. It was very clean. The rooms were nice. The staff was friendly. I did not meet the person who set up the appointment. I don't know why she was not there at the time she confirmed she would be, but the young man at the front desk was very flexible and took my husband and I around the facility. He was very friendly. It was OK. The rooms were OK; they were nice. I wouldn't rate them like above and beyond, but if that was a place I would have to put my mom at, it was OK. They seemed to be pretty standard in terms of amenities. There was an activity room and an exercise room.

My sister is in the Brookdale Brea. The staff is excellent, they're very caring and very attentive. The residents all love the staff, which I felt was a very good indication because they felt very safe and very well cared for. She is in assisted living, there are services available if you need them. There are caregivers if you need help with medications or assistance with showers and things like that. They have a great staff, so there are multiple levels of coverage that you could have there. Every single one of them can multitask, they know their residents, and they care for their residents. They're amazing, I was very glad I came and saw them. The food was incredible we ate there, and they have a wonderful chef. Their meals are all varied, they don't have the same thing all the time, they have a wonderful menu. They also have a beautiful dining room, and they just have a wonderful situation there. They have so many activities, I couldn't keep up with them. They have a salon, they have exercise classes every few days and they do a walking exercises. This place is not the highest-priced one, but you get what you pay for. She's been there almost a year, but I met residents that have been there 3 to 5 years and they love it there.

We visited Brookdale Brea. The facility was fantastic but it was very expensive. With the level of care that my mom needs, she wouldn't be using any of those accommodations; she's too sick. The staff that gave the tour (her name was Chrissie) was very professional and helpful with all of our questions. The layout was very modern. Overall, it's a very nice place.

We went to Brookdale Brea. The sales rep was very nice, very professional, and very honest. As far as I understood, she didn't have to tell me that her son had Covid positive. She was like, Okay, but I am clean now. I can show you -- she understood I had two little kids in the car. It was very nice of her to inform me, and she wasn't trying to hide something. I respect that very much. The bedrooms were huge and were much bigger than the other one we saw. It was well decorated, and she said she decorated it herself and it looked beautiful. She did show me the game rooms and all that, and the Brea location is much better. I heard about the games and stuff, see where they had movie nights and all that, but none of them applied to me because I already knew my mom wasn't going to do any of it. It looked clean, it looked spacious, and it's more decorated.

I had an in-person tour of Brookdale Brea. It seemed to be fine. The lady that we've dealt with was very nice and seemed like she was helpful with everything. They had an activity with the seniors, with an Elvis impersonator, which I thought was pretty cool for that. Sounds like they have a lot of activities, so just the stuff we're looking for. So far, the grounds were fine, and the rooms were fine, too. We didn't test the food, that's going to be very important. So we'll probably end up setting up a time with my mom to test the food; that's important for her, I think. The rooms were average size, not too big. The staff was very friendly, seemed to be very knowledgeable, and on top of things. They have kind of older hallways. They have a fitness room and a library.

The staff at Brookdale Brea was really friendly. The amenities were nice, but they had a limited view. They felt very welcoming. They seemed to have lots of food menu choices and that was emphasized there. The grounds were very, very nice and that's what impressed me the most. We explored the menu (we did not eat there), and they seemed to have a wide variety. The dining area was very clean and very generous in size. They had tablecloths and things like that, so it's very nice.

Brookdale Brea have done a good job. Mom seems happy there. They seem to be good, and they're very caring. She is a little bit different than most of the seniors there; most of them are very mobile on their own, so she is taking a little more of their time. They call if they need something or if they have concerns about things, so they seem to be kind of going the extra mile, which we appreciate because she needs that. The facility is always clean, and they're doing the best they can with COVID. They haven't had an outbreak in months now, so they must be doing it right. They've had quite a few new people move in because they have six empty rooms, and they have a nice courtyard that is very well maintained. Everybody who works there seems happy, and to me that is kind of a big indication of how the facility is. Everybody is very nice, and they all seem very happy. They all know each other by name because it's not really huge, which helps. They do activities, they go and take drives, and they have their dining room open, so that's good. They give you an adequate amount of food, and it's pretty good, too. When I did a little bit of looking around, they have an activity list that they post up all over the place, so they offer three or four things every day. They have movie afternoons, and they have an exercise program that you can participate in. The coordinator seems to be happy at what she's doing, and she is coordinating quite a few different types of things. Everything is not in the same category, so there is some diversity there.

My father-in-law has been at Brookdale Brea for about two months, and he likes it there. The staff is very attentive and seems to care a lot. They let us have lunch there, and the food was very good. The facilities are very nice, and they have activities. It's very clean, kept up, and updated. My father-in-law says the food is sometimes not good, though.

Brookdale Brea was a wonderful facility. The people were very friendly. The rooms were more like a single studio. It came with a space for a small refrigerator and room for your own bed, cabinet, and small accessory items. They had larger rooms available, but that's not what I was looking for. They had a large activity room, a large walking space for your dogs, domino games, a lot of outings, and shuttle buses that would take you to your appointments.

We selected Brookdale Brea because of the location and 24/7 respite care. Their staff was incredibly responsive and attentive. Their facility is sharp, clean, and well maintained. For the respite care, everything is provided. There is a bed, sitting area, TV, a chest drawer, chairs, and a kitchenette, which has a coffee maker and a microwave. They've been fantastic. The staff was very personal. Everybody knows everybody's name. From the kitchen staff to the front desk to the care providers, they're making an effort to get to know the people who are staying at their facility. They make it very intimate and personal which is remarkable at this day and age in nursing care homes. I've never tasted the food, but my mother said it was good.

Brookdale Brea looked nice and clean, and the staff seemed to be very nice. The few residents we saw were polite and nice. The tour was informative. In general, the place was fine. There was a mini patio in the central court.

Brookdale was a nice place, but they only have assisted living, not memory care, and it's too expensive. It's an older place, but they recently remodelled.

Brookdale Brea is an excellent facility. I have a friend who has resided there for about four years now. I knew about this facility because I go and visit her once every couple of months. They have a very good and pleasant staff. The rooms and apartments there are very clean and neat. I've been there when my friend was eating, and I'm just impressed that she can order off a menu. The food looked good and healthy, too. I was also impressed that they have their own beauty shop and barber shop there. They have a game room and a movie room where residents can go and watch movies. There's a possibility as well of taking a little dog for a walk. They have everything that is needed. I would highly recommend this place; however, it's just too expensive for us.

Brookdale Brea was OK, but it wasn’t one I would choose to go to. The place wasn’t as nice-looking inside; it didn’t have a lot of appeal. I didn’t like their dining plan, and I wasn’t impressed with the menu.

I thought Brookdale Brea was depressing. The colors were dark. The elderly were just sitting around, and nobody was interacting with them. It just seemed like a lobby of a hotel rather than a home. The staff was very nice. The rooms were beautiful. I did not have any issue with the rooms. It was just more of the layout of the assisted living senior apartments.

Brookdale Brea was very small. I did not like the location or the parking. If there was one thing they can improve on, it would be the parking situation. My mom still drives, and it was very difficult to get into. It was very clean.

Emeritus at Brea was a nice facility. The rooms were actually pretty big, but it was just really expensive. My mom was on a pretty limited budget, so I had to throw that one out. Also, I didn't like the location of the facility. It was near the freeway and on a very major street. It had the same options and it was a much bigger facility with bigger room, but it was pretty expensive.

We went to Emeritus at Brea. It was a lovely facility. My parents would have probably gone there in a heartbeat, but they were very limited in their finances. At the time of the visit, they gave us lunch and they showed us the entire place. It was a lovely facility and we were treated very kindly. Also, the food was wonderful. Everyone was very caring and that was important. I would absolutely recommend Emeritus at Brea.

The atmosphere in Emeritus at Brea was very nice. The rooms appeared to be adequate; the second floor has a little balcony. The activities available seemed to be adequate for the elderly people. The availability of being taken to the store or doctor’s facility or to shopping is something that the facility has to offer because the people that are there generally don’t drive, so they rely on someone to supply transportation. The eating area was nice. The menu looked better than what I have at home.

Emeritus at Brea was gorgeous. I couldn’t get over how nice it was. It looked like a great place to live -- and spacious. They get two meals a day and eat like a family. They had good parking, and the staff is very friendly, approachable, and outgoing. It seemed like there was always somebody available. But it would be out of the way for the other two sisters, and I just think that Ed is not ready for that yet.

Emeritus at Brea is a very nice place. They’re very clean. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. The people are great; they’re friendly. The staff is good. They’re also very prompt when somebody needs them. They do have activities for the clients. The residents seem to really like it there.

We are very happy with Emeritus at Brea. Everything there is good. My dad likes the food, and he gets good care there. We are happy with it. His room actually has a balcony with a sliding glass door. My dad has a table, chairs, television, a dresser, a bed, a recliner chair, a separate bathroom, and a pretty large closet.

Emeritus at Brea was really nice and clean. Their dining room was nice. Everything was top notch. It was just too far from us and they were full at that time. They had no more room available. Had it been closer to us, I would have placed her there. Also, it was too big, I was afraid that my mother will get lost there.

The location of Emeritus at Brea was convenient for my sister, that's why we chose to check this place for her. It is in the same neighborhood that she is living in now, so friends would not have to go further distance to find her should she decide to choose this place. The facility is very clean. We did check the rooms and I found them to be a little smaller than I had hoped for. However, price-wise, all of the services that go with the facility would probably offset the size of the rooms. Their dining room was nice. The sales staff that I met were very nice. Residents that I got to talk to seemed content. I think that pets are welcomed in this facility. It is a nice perk for people that had pets. However, they don't have very many gardens for people to enjoy very much. They could improve on this. Another thing I would like this facility to have is maybe if they can have a private dining area with a kitchen for a family to come in and cook a special meal so that they can have a meal together with their loved one who is staying in this facility. That would be nice.

Emeritus at Brea is very, very nice. The staff were very helpful and the minute I walked in they got somebody to talk to me and gave me a tour. The facilities were very nice but was a bit expensive and I cannot afford it.
