The Ivy at Wellington - Laguna Hills, CA is pretty when you walk into it. The entrance is very high end. They have what they call The Redwoods where you walk out the door into a courtyard, and they have a little putting course back there. Then they have these big redwood trees, which was a big selling point. However, we went toward the evening, and the redwood trees and everything else was like you walk through this enchanted forest that was dark and dingy. The main building had the restaurant and the reception area, and all that stuff in it, but then you had to go out of the building to get to the rooms. So what do you do when it's raining? And what do you do when it's cold? We just couldn't see my mom having to get a jacket or whatever to go to dinner or to go to breakfast, and it's cold out and it's raining. It just was not for her because she's kind of wheelchair bound. It was not a facility for us. It was old, and to me, it was dark and dingy, and I wouldn't want to be there myself. They showed this little putting green thing, which we would never use. They had a big courtyard, but they had it set up like a park with benches along the way, and all that kind of stuff. The dining hall seemed to be one of the big things that they're very proud of. Other than that, we just found it to be dark with dark colors, and we didn't like it. The staff though were nice and very knowledgeable. They were selling the place.

I will most likely be staying at The Ivy at Wellington. I just felt it was a nice place to be. It's month to month, so you're not obligated for 6 months or a year with a lease. The apartments were very lovely. They were very nice sizes. I'll be moving into a 2-bedroom; one was the bedroom, and then the other was a den which was a smaller room. You could put a sleeping couch in the den. The bedroom was a nice size. You would get 3 meals a day, and the food was OK. I had a hamburger and fries. The staff was very cordial, very sweet, and very helpful.

The Ivy at Wellington - Laguna Hills, CA was beautiful. It was very nice. We were very impressed. The tour was very helpful. They covered everything. The staff who accommodated us with the tour was very good. We looked at a one-bedroom-and-a-den apartment. They had physical therapy. They had all kinds of things. They had card games and arts. I didn't look at all of them, but I just saw that they were busy. They had a library, a courtyard, a swimming pool, and a gym. We had lunch there, and it was fine. Also, you can get your meals any time of the day. They're not regimented.

The Ivy at Wellington Laguna Hills, CA was beautiful. It was just way too big for my mom. We saw a one-bedroom, and it's got a very nice layout. It's a separate bedroom, separate bathroom, and kitchen area. Very nice. The staff was very, very nice and very accommodating. They have a beauty salon there. It seems like they had a movie room also, they have beautiful views out of the dining room. It's a very nice location, a very nice property.

I went here and the rooms are wonderful. They have a full kitchen, in the two-bedroom they have walk-in closets, they have a hall closet, storage area, and some beautiful views from the room. The staff is friendly, nice. We haven't had a meal there, but they serve three meals a day, they have staples and they have specials each day, so a nice variety, really a good selection, a good menu. There they have assisted, and independent, and to get assisted you have to live in the assisted part, so really it doesn't meet our needs. When you first enter, it's like going on to a cruise ship, the dining room is straight ahead with a beautiful view, and because it's up high, you enter on the fourth story, so it gives an ambiance of elegance. They provide a daily exercise program, they have a nice gym, and they provide outings, films, and other things.

It is very high-end, clean, and pretty. Their apartments are very nice. They have two-bedrooms and a den, so essentially a three-bedroom, which is what we were looking for. The dining room staff was great, and the people we dealt with as far as going into the place were good. The food was of very good quality and well served. I liked the dining room hours, which were 7 to 7.
