"We liked The Montebello on Academy a lot. We thought it was just right for us. The apartments were a good size and our furniture would fit there. I think we'd be comfortable. The menu was excellent and the food was excellent. They offer exactly what I think is the right thing. They'll choose your diet in any way you need to and you get one major meal a day, either lunch or supper, and you always get breakfast. So, having meals twice a day would be perfect for us. Everything seemed to be in excellent condition. It was very clean. We liked how often they do exercise classes. We feel like that's very important to our health. We also have a small dog and we loved their approach to what you're allowed to do with your dog there. They have a nice dog yard. Nicer than any of the other places in town."

"My sister has moved into Amaran Senior Living. It's great. We're really lucky that we found it. It's very light. It's not dark. They work kind of Montessori-based. In other words, they have a Montessori school, and it's locally owned by a family that's lived in Albuquerque for a long time. It has both assisted living and memory care. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are really nice. They have two different patios, one upstairs, like on the third floor where she is. They encourage their residents to do a lot of things. They have a lot of activities that they do with them: jewelry making, painting, and they have a garden, which they even use some of the produce they're cooking. It's tended by the older children from the Montessori school, which is next door. They encourage a lot of family to go there and have their food. You can sit there and eat with the residents. They have a really good transportation service to their doctors' appointments. They take them on outings. My sister's in a large studio. It's just really nice. It has a refrigerator, a small microwave, and cabinet spaces. There's a lot of built-in stuff. You don't have to take additional furniture. It has its own washer and dryer. The big apartments have both the stackable washer and dryer. She has housekeeping service weekly, and they do her linens. We just help her with her personal laundry, which is done in her room. They come in pretty much every day and empty her trash, and if she needs anything they'll take care of it. She's in a different level of care where she has to be helped with her medications/where they bring them to her. She's diabetic, but they don't give her her insulin because they can't. They have all kinds of activities. What's really nice about it is they try to even bring the ones from memory care to form a tiny goup with the ones that are in assisted living and do activities together."

"I was first very skpetical on this place but it really warmed up to me. I am a senior form Wisconsin and I moved down here to be with family. When I first moved here I was home sick but I checked out this living facillity by my family and I have to say I loved it. First I hated it beacuse I missed my home but now I am glad I moved down here. The employers are so generous kind and loving. They help with what ever I need and when I say what ever I mean what ever. It is a very homy house that is pretty large for me and has everything I would like and need. It was the best desicion I made picking this place than others. My family helped me pick this one and I am glad I ended up with this one. The interior of the house is nice they have a nice tv plus a car and all you have to do is tell them where you want to go and they will take you. "

"This is a clean, well taken care of facility. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the needs of the residence. We feel like family with the staff and other residences. It's a safe place for our loved one and everyone who resides here. They always seem to have some sort of activity for the residence's and provide excellent meals too. I am so glade to have found such a great place. "

"We had mom at Casa De Rosa, and it's perfect; we love it! She's got more privacy because she has her own room, and she still gets a lot of excellent care. They monitor her and check in on her frequently. The facility is very clean, and I never had any problem with odor which is very good. We are very, very pleased with it. She is getting physical therapy, and they are goal oriented to try to get her move on her own without relying solely on the wheelchair. All questions that we had, they were willing to answer. "

"I was very impressed with Camino Retirement Apartments. They were one of the few that took the time to give us a tour. We were having coffee talking to the manager, and my brother spilled his coffee, and the manager jovially asked one of the kitchen help to come in, bring a mop up and clean it up, and that person was very pleasant. Everybody we encountered was so nice. They were interacting with the people coming and going. We even met the bus driver. It was a very enjoyable experience. My brother hung out and asked the residents their opinions. The staff who assisted me carefully explained everything and she gave us a history. We weren't able to meet the activity director that day, but this person was dedicated to giving the tours. She was a little bit delayed with the people she was showing around before we got there, and I didn't mind waiting for her one bit because, when she got to us, she gave us her complete attention. We were shown the cafeteria and they had the chalkboard menu, and it looked very promising. They had a variety of choices for breakfast. They would have two entrees for lunch and then two soups for dinner. For the rooms, my brother can have his own coffee maker and a small kitchen counter with a very small refrigerator, so he was really happy with that. They had food out at all times. They had pastries left over that were individually wrapped, and they offered them to us on our tour. When the manager went to get the kitchen staff with the mop, he came out eating a nice chunk of cake. "

"Life Spire Assisted Living-Albuquerque looks really nice. They keep the inside immaculate, and the people that work there take good care of my mom. I haven't tried the food yet, my sister did, and she said that the meals are really good. They have a sitting area for the people to eat, and there is another sitting area for people to watch TV and talk to each other. There is an outside patio area, where they take the residents out and do activities with them. They have really good activities. They play bingo and different games."

"My mother has been at Little Rose's Board And Care Home for a little while, but so far it's good. It's more like a home. They dispense her medications and provide her three meals a day plus snacks. They take her to the store and where she needs to go. She likes the food. It's affordable for her, but it would be nice if they would provide some activities for them."

"We are very pleased with Royal Point Home. We have been very happy with the care there. It is very convenient to where we live, so we can see my mom every day. The most important thing to me is the location. The staff members are very receptive to us. Royal Point Home is a small place. There are only 10 to 12 residents, so it is like a big home, and that's what we wanted. They don't have a lot of activities because it is mostly hospice care. Nevertheless, they have a TV, computer, puzzles and games. They are mainly quiet things because the people are all elderly. The place is very nice; it is a very large home. It is nice, open, and clean. The people who own the house used to be hospice nurses. My mom's room is very nice. It is just a regular bedroom with a bathroom. It feels cozy. It is a regular-sized bedroom with lots of windows, so it is very bright, and the sun can come in. It is perfect for her. They have been very good about communications. The staff is very open and friendly. They don't make us feel like they're hiding anything or that there isn't something we can ask them."

"Fountain Hill Assisted Living is a brand new facility. They have about 48 rooms and my dad's got a single room with a bathroom. They have an inside courtyard area and a standalone dining area where everyone gets to eat. The food is very good. They have their own two chefs there and they are very knowledgeable. They have one or two activities in the afternoons as well as full-time nurses 24/7."

The direct care staff are held to high standards of care for the elders, the home is clean and cheerful, active yet peaceful. The clients always shown the utmost respect! When it became time for my father to move from more independent housing, due to advancing dementia, I chose Constance House for him, to live the remainder of his life!
