This is higher than the state average of $3,000, according to Genworth’s 2020 Cost of Care Survey. However, assisted living in St. Charles County is more affordable than the national median cost of $4,300 per month.
St. Charles County has one of the highest assisted living costs in Missouri. It’s beaten only by the Kansas City area, which has an average cost of $4,460 per month. In the center of the state, Columbia averages $2,900. Assisted living in the nearby capital of Jefferson City costs about $3,150 per month. On the Ozark Plateau, Springfield has a slightly higher assisted living price of $3,100. Nearby Joplin has the lowest assisted living cost in the state at $2,500 per month, which is $1,250 more affordable than the average paid in St. Charles County. In the state’s northwest corner, St. Joseph the average cost of assisted living is $3,488 per month. On the opposite side of the state, Cape Girardeau has a similar cost at $3,374.
