Bethesda Ranch is an adult family home located approximately 9 miles from the center of Kalamazoo and just minutes from Sugarloaf Lake. The neighborhood is mostly residential, including small stores, restaurants and churches. The West Center bus route has a stop nearby that may be helpful to visitors who can't drive. All residents are in private rooms with TV, heater and furniture, as well as various safety alarms to notify staff of any issues. Bethesda Ranch is a smaller community with a high ratio of care givers to residents—2 staff for 5 residents—and there's a registered nurse on-site. Staff accompany the residents on group outings for lunch every Tuesday and Thursday. Residents at Bethesda Ranch can take part in game nights and pizza parties every week, as well as regular trivia, cards and social activities that bring people together.
