Based on this data, seniors in Miami-Dade County pay approximately $3,500 per month for assisted living, making it among the most cost-effective options in the state and the nation as a whole. In 2014, the state of Florida replaced all their HCBS waiver programs with the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care Program (SMMC-LTC), which helps eligible seniors pay for assisted living costs.
