I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband was a resident of Jamestown Health and Rehab. I felt as though it was not as clean, it looked kind of dark and dreary when you went in. So it didn't have more of a home-type atmosphere. They have a lot of turnover with the staff, which made it difficult to get good care because they were always short-staffed. The food didn't have a wide variety in some cases. It just didn't have as much flavor or taste. I don't think they get to know the clients as patients. They're just there and they're doing a job. They don't go as far as giving extra special care or talking to them, gettingto know them, and interacting with them very much. They do have good activities. They have a lady there who's always doing things that the patients can do. She encourages them to participate.

The care that Jamestown Health and Rehab provides to my mom has been good. She's got speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. It's a nice place and the staff members that I met were fine.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife had been to Jamestown Health and Rehab. The place was always clean. The people were very good. We tried to get my wife back here, but they had a few people who work in here that tested positive for the virus that week and they said they were not taking any new patients until all things were cleared. They're a family friendly organization. The food is better than hospital food. They have a pretty nice facility. The people that worked in the rehab were very professional and were good people. The facility is a little bit more modern and is in a good location. If we needed any transportation to keep her doctors' appointments or anything, they'd arrange that, and a staff member always accompanied her to the doctor. They were very good. All the bad stories and nightmares that you hear are humors, my wife and I never encountered any mischief. They were all for keeping the family structure as much as they could. They have a good attitude as far as public relations are concerned.

This facility was filthy. The care given by staff was very mediocre. I feel as if they neglected my mother and several other residents. There was very little to no communication between staff. The rooms are not cleaned properly. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband entered the rehab part and was moved to the hospice part. I could not have asked for better care as if I was doing it myself. The nursing staff all the way to the CNA were absolutely wonderful and showed my husband tremendous respect and treated him with dignity. Even with his death, their concern and compassion exceeded all expectations.

My aunt is at Jamestown Health and Rehab right now. They are very attentive and well managed. They have more than the recommended staff, so it is not so rushed or hurried, and they seem to do a really good job in trying to meet her needs. It is very conveniently located right off of the freeway, and the grounds are beautiful with a pretty courtyard in the middle with a gazebo. The hallways and the dining room are all glass. It is a great facility.

I visited this facility

Jamestown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a gorgeous place. They did take us on a tour on what little time we could spend there. They were very knowledgeable, and they seemed to have good dementia care there. I had known another person whose mother had been there and had passed on. We were impressed with it.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed in Jamestown in a shared room for 30 days. It was really nice and brand new. The room had a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and grab bars on three walls, which I liked very much. I had help getting my hair washed and taking a shower, but I was able to walk into the shower, stand up, and take a shower anytime I wanted to. The food was good, and the dining room was very nice and set up like a cafeteria. They had a nice menu with good selections.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My dad is in a semi-private room at Jamestown Health and Rehab for rehab. I think it’s great. He has his own wardrobe, dresser, and TV. The meals are great, and he gets wonderful care. The staff is great and do everything like they should. Dad has to do physical therapy, so they play games as part of it. They have a library room where he can work on puzzles since he loves jigsaw puzzles, but they have different activities every day. We like the atmosphere and that it's more centrally located for all of us; that’s another reason why we chose the facility. That way, everybody would be able to go on a regular basis to see him.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mom has been in Jamestown for therapy 4 times in the last 18 months for 3 different breaks. The staff has been helpful and kind. The rooms are clean and there are no smells. The facilities besides the rooms are very nice also. She has not always been happy due to pain, but the staff has treated her with respect and kindness. We have been very pleased.

I visited this facility

The facility for the nursing home part was very nice and open. Staff was very friendly and knew patients by name. Patients seemed very happy. However, upon entering the alzheimer's unit I was not impressed with how "dark" this area was. Not much outside light coming in to brighten up this area. Dining area was small in comparison to the other part of the facility and not a lot of outside light to brighten the room. I came out of this area very sad and almost in tears. No way would I want to put my father in this facility. I was be depressed all the time, I can only imagine how he would feel in a place like this.
