The Blossoms at Midtown Rehab & Nursing Center is a very good place, and I'm very happy here. I have a two-bedroom unit that I share with another woman, and it's fine. We have a TV, and we watch whatever we want. We get served food three times a day: breakfast, lunch, and supper/dinner. Food and the staff are all pretty good. Every couple of days, they do something out in the lobby. They do fine on the maintenance.

Do not allow anyone you care for or love to this facility. From top to bottom the staff is uncaring, too busy to bother and neglectful. They are all sweet and good to your face but as soon as you turn your back and are out the door the nightmare will begin. The last straw was finding feces left on floor next to my Mom's bed. Used gloves thrown on floor. I made plans to move Mom to better facility and when the staff learned of this they turned against me and threatened my Mom. If you visit long enough you become aware of continuous beeping from residents/patients needing assistance in their room but staff ignores. Staff gossips and laugh at patients. Air conditioning did not work during hottest part of summer. Horrific smells hit you when you arrive on the floor. Constant staff turnover. Everything is old and beat up with no common rooms where you can spend quiet time. TVs turned on loud all day long with few activities for residents. DO NOT place anyone you care about in the place. I wish I could give this place a negative star, a one star is far too much.

The facility doesn’t provide necessary items and supplies needed for treatments in a timely manner. Their responses are we will get it to and 2 days later no distilled water for humifier which is needed for a trache , they doesn’t provide hydrogen peroxide for cleaning of the trache. We the family member have to bring these items and many times perform the trache care and ensure that the humidifier has solutions. It seems to me that part of nursing assessment and care including checking levels of supplies and performing treatments. Many times the response time for answering call lights are 30-40 minutes. Some of the nurses doesn’t appear to make frequent rounds on the clients.

I liked West Markham Sub Acute and Rehabilitation Center. It was very nice and I really liked the staff there. I got the chance to meet a lot of them. They were friendly. My mother was there for rehab and she only stayed there for a week. They played Bingo and they had movies, and those get-togethers to tell about your life and everything. The place was very clean. From our little bit of experience where we had a good experience, they were pretty good.
