My mom is living in Mt. Carmel Community at The Village. She went in first to assisted living and then ended up going to memory care. She loves it there. She wasn't happy when they moved her into memory care because now she's locked up. The other day they were playing chair volleyball and they sent me pictures. I just love the head nurse that's over that area. She's awesome. We had a meeting with her, I think it was Thursday and she was talking about Alzheimer's and where Mom's at right now because Mom's been going downhill, and we just can't afford to keep her there anymore. It's so expensive over there. So it's like over $2,000 cheaper at the other place. The room at Mount Carmel is quite a bit smaller, but they're always clean and nice. They do all the cleaning and stuff, and she's got plenty of room. She doesn't need a big room. She doesn't sleep in a bed. She hasn't for years because she can't move in the morning if she sleeps in the bed, she can't sleep flat. She has a recliner she sleeps in, so she doesn't need a whole lot of room. We've eaten there many times. It's really good food. They have a library, a film room, and a gym. But I don't think they take the residents over there. They also have physical therapy and it's there if the residents want to use it. But, most of the time, I don't see anybody there. They have a card room, but you can play cards anywhere. They have all those puzzles and they have activities. If they're having a group come to sing or whatever, they'll take them out of memory care down to the regular population so they can enjoy it too. It's a very positive atmosphere.

Mt. Carmel Community at the Village was very nice. The other place we toured was better, the rooms here were a little bit small and kinda dreary. The staff who assisted us during the tour was very nice and very accommodating. She showed us everything that we asked to see, and explained everything very well. They bragged about the food, but we didn't get to taste the food. Everybody that we asked about the food said it was very good. They had regular activities, they showed movies every day in a special area, and they have a nice exercise room and a beauty shop.

We toured Mt. Carmel Community at the Village. The thing I like best is it was closest to where I live, but also a new facility. Like in the memory care, it's a three-to-one ratio, three people for every person that they have employed, and a nice, new place. It's clean, the rooms are barrier free, and they fit what our needs would be. The downside of it is that they didn't have immediate availability, so we're waiting for availability.

We went to Mt. Carmel Community early this year. They treated us very well, it was an organized community, it's a nice, quiet place to live. Their services are: they clean your house once a week, you get electronic monitoring inside the house, and it will detect any action. The homes are fairly new, they are very attractive, and very clean, it's a very clean organization, the neighborhood, and everything. The manager also spent time with us. They did a very good job.

My friend was at Mt. Carmel Community at the Village, and it was very nice. We arranged for her to have a small apartment. It was a room with a full bath, and a little kitchenette area. She basically took two rooms and they put a door in between. They have activities, and two social directors, one comes on Monday and Tuesday, and the other one comes in Wednesday through Friday. Some people do social directing on Saturdays as well. They bring in various programs from outside, some bands in the village would go in, or individuals would go in and play for an hour or so every month. The food would depend on who was cooking for that day. I dont think the place was very well managed. The success was based on what some people brought into work, rather than those managing it. The staff was a five, but they were not properly supervised.

Mt. Carmel Community at The Village has independent living cottages. They're extremely nice, have full kitchens, two bedrooms, a dining area, living room, and a garage. They have two different club houses and they have a variety of activities. They also have access to a fitness center in the village that they pay a membership fee for. The staff is excellent. They have housekeeping twice a week and meals are included. The cafeteria is excellent and everyone I talked with had nothing but good things to say about the food.

Mt. Carmel Community at The Village is quite new. It's only several years old. It has varying levels of care. There were independent cottages as well as assisted living, but there's no skilled nursing on-site. They have several different floor plans available. The independent living is all one floor plan because they're individual cottages. The assisted living has varying floor plans. Some are 400 square feet up to 700 square feet. The cafeteria was very nice. The residents seemed to be engaged in various activities. They showed me a calendar and I observed people playing cards in their community room and some older gentlemen watching television together. The staff was very friendly. They had extra staff members that day because it was an open house. They were very helpful and answered every question to my satisfaction. It's an excellent facility.
