I love it at Indian Rock Village. I think it’s very nice. The staff is wonderful. My parents are both in a room in the skilled caring side. The room is good-sized. I’ve taken some things from home and decorated it. It’s about 150 miles away, but it’s better than anything close to here. The price is comparable.

I was accommodated nicely at Indian Rock Village. They have independent living, assisted living, and nursing home care. You can bring your own furniture or they have furniture that's available. The residents seemed happy and oriented as to what was going on. Everybody was friendly. I had a favorable impression of the place. Fairfield Bay is a retirement and a resort community, so they have just about everything you can think of like restaurants, the Hart Center which is an exercise facility, a gym, fishing, and movies on the weekends, enough to keep the person busy. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The have three different meals three times a day and different plans. You can pay for one meal or you can have a meal program.

I was very impressed with Indian Rock Village. It was very nice and well organized. The people were very nice and friendly; residents stopped to welcome us and tell us how much they liked the place, so we got a lot of recommendations from the residents themselves. They invited us to share lunch with them in the cafeteria, which was more like a restaurant. We were waited on by a waitress and had choices for the meal, which was very nice. The food was pretty good and seemed to be much better than the average institutional fare. I really liked that they had choices; you weren’t just stuck with whatever they hand over to you, and you didn’t have to queue up in line and carry a tray. There were white tablecloths on the tables. It was very nicely laid out and decorated. We toured two of the apartments, which were lovely, very nicely decorated, and very cozy spaces.

We visited the facility in hopes of finding a place for my mother. She is getting close to the point where we have to do something for her care. The staff we visited with seemed very concerned and caring. They explained the levels of care and the pricing. What sold us was the fact that they have an attached nursing home too, so if mom needs more care, she would not have to leave. We plan to move her in after Christmas.

My mother-in-law lived at Indian Rock Village in an apartment in the independent living section. After a stay in the hospital she had to go into their nursing home for rehab for almost three months. They did a great job there. When she got ready to leave we knew she couldn't go back to her old apartment and we put her into the assisted living on the ground floor. As Jennifer said, it was smaller, but this met her needs better than anything else. She knew the people and the building and the staff treated her great. The prices are somewhat cheaper than other facilities and it has a very home like feel. Overall we had a great experience and mom was happy too.

I like this facility but I do feel they need to be updated on the care of Alzheimers patients for sure...I was asked by family to help come in and care for their mother her husband of like 60 yrs had passed away and she had alzheimers disease all of her surrounds were familiar to her so she felt pretty safe at least until she was moved downstairs into a much smaller unit...it put her into a state of mind, confusion depresesion, etc and she withdrew and got so much worse, to her, her husband was going to be coming home some day but he was gone now, no more familiar things around her and even her room was NO longer familiar to her...you can't move someone who has alzheimers disease we need to care more about their needs.....to this day she is still alive but no longer hardly talks to anyone no longer walks just sits in a chair all day...what kind of a life is this......????
