My wife will be moving to Chambers Health & Rehab and the main reason that I chose it is because there are familiar faces there that she already knows and I thought that outweighed a place where she walked into and stayed and didn't know a single person and nobody looked familiar. She has aphasia and she can't talk. She can't meet people. She can't have a conversation. So I picked a place here in town, because of familiar faces and people that she recognizes. I talked with the person in charge of the meeting and she covered what kind of people would my wife want a room with, what would be her interests, what she could do, and what she liked to do. As we went through those things, my wife couldn't do anything because the reasoning in her mind didn't work and she couldn't write on her right hand. She doesn't understand instructions. So, there's not a lot of games that she could play on her own. She would have to be led. They told me they could have somebody sit with her and do it for her. They said that they would look after her and try to include her and if they needed to feed her, they would, and some things basically to make her feel like she was part of something while she was there. You can either have a private room or a semi-private room. It's a nursing home with health and rehab. So, they have rehab there, too. The layout is pretty simple to get around. They have locked doors with a code to get in or to get out and so it is a secure place where they can't just get out. I just don't know what to compare it with.
