We live in Mt. Carmel Community. What we like the most about this place is the people. They are very nice, very cordial, and professional at the same time. Our apartment is nice. We've got our furniture in it and it's home-like here in our apartment, and we overlook the courtyard. Everyone has a big window in their room. The upkeep is very well done. It may take a while on some of it because it's a big community, but it's very well done when they do it. It depends on how important it is. Like hanging pictures is not as important as a bed sliding to one side. So, they prioritize it by importance. The food is delicious and they bend over backwards for you. The dining area is very nice. It's like a nice luxury hotel dining area. There's bingo, crafts, and going out to lunch. On Thursday, they're taking us out to Olive Garden. Something is going on all the time. The only day we don't have something this week is Friday.

My father moved into Mt. Carmel Community. It is excellent. He's in a studio apartment, and it's real nice. The food is excellent. The dining hall is nice, open, and clean. They have bingo and movies. They take them to Wal-Mart. The staff is very professional and nice.

My mother is now a resident of Mt. Carmel Community, she's really happy there and she is living alone in a cottage. Our overall experience with them has been excellent. They have this sweet group of adults that's there and they love each other. It's a gated community, they tend to her needs, it's personal, and they help out quite a bit. They have a bridge club, they have libraries, they eat together, socialize together, and play games. They also have three meals daily, and they'd deliver to her door if she wants that. Sometimes she'd stay in the common area when they play bridge and socialize. Her cottage is beautiful, it's a 2-bedroom that's well-furnished. You bring your own furniture but they provide plans, the grounds are well taken care of and it's well-kept. They have wifi, cable, an exercise room, there's a common area with a fireplace, and they replace the appliances when they break down. My mom sometimes eats the food they provide, and she also makes her own meals sometimes. The facility is beautiful, it's wonderful.

Mt. Carmel was a spread-out community on one level. They had an exercise room and laundry room. The food was good, and they had a salad bar. Everybody was caring. My loved one has a cat that she wanted to bring with her, and everybody said she could.

Mt. Carmel had a religious overtone. The bathroom was in the front of the apartment in the living room area, so you had to walk from the bedroom all the way to the living room area to get to the bathroom. If Dad had to go to the bathroom at night, then he would have to go all the way to the front. They said that we could move the bedroom to the front and the kitchen area to the back, but then a visitor would have to go to their bedroom to get to the living room. The apartments were a nice size, clean, and beautiful. It was walking distance from my home, but we couldn’t get past the bathroom being in the front of the apartment. They had church, Bible study, and outings for shopping, to the senior center, to Wal-Mart, and to the library. They had a little bus, bingo, jigsaw puzzles, a TV room, a reading room, and a computer room. The biggest drawback was the location of the bathroom.

Mt. Carmel is a very large facility, but also an expensive one. Their rooms were nice, although not large enough for what I need. I wanted a place where I can live independently yet still has access to assistance in case I have need for it. However, the employee that showed me around was very nice, courteous and polite. She introduced me to just about everyone we came in contact with. I have congestive heart failure and because of the size of this place, I was unable to walk around with her. However, she found a wheelchair and pushed me around. That was really nice of her! I would recommend this place to others.

I was very impressed with the situation there. I think they need some more units in the main building. They had 2-bedroom cottages and I was really impressed with their food service and they make it like a restaurant. You can go in and order from the menu. I was very impressed with the people working there as well.

My Aunt is a resident of Mt.Carmel Community. At the moment we are pleased with the care he is receiving there. She likes it there and says it seems like home. The building is old but the interior was clean and did not smell. The staff was friendly and answered all my questions. Her appearance was clean and neat. The one negative is the building is not air-conditioned sometimes. There were many fans but still very warm. At this time I'm pleased with the care my Aunt is receiving. She also seems to be eating well.
