My husband resided at Brookdale Tempe for 4 years. He was very content and happy here. I visited and even volunteered 3-4 times a week. The staff was always caring and they actually enjoyed interacting with the residents. The administrator, nurses, and activity director set the tone and were actively involved with the residents and the other staff. The staff are well trained. Medication is never used to control challenging behaviors. Respectful diversion and personal comfort are used very successfully. The facility is always clean and the residents are well dressed and provided with interesting and appropriate activities to keep them active throughout the day. My husband would rave about the food. Both residents and staff were treated like family. The family of residents are given support through educational meetings and encouraged to continue social interactions with their loved ones via family night dinners provided by Brookdale Tempe staff. The rooms are comfortably large and well maintained. I could not have found a better memory care facility to care for my husband's needs than Brookdale Tempe. I still plan to return to volunteer there. That's how much I value and am grateful to the services they provided.

I liked the way the residents were at Brookdale Tempe. They were friendly, active, and seemed to be happy. That counts for a lot. The tour that I got was excellent. The rooms were nice. Everything was clean and in order. The staff was very helpful. The common areas looked good. There's plenty of room, plenty of places to sit, and it was very attractive. They said that they're going to renovate, but it just seemed to me like the walls of the place were really beat up looking.

Brookdale Tempe was a beautiful facility. It was very clean, very neat, and tidy. It had simple things like corner guards, so that the people in wheelchairs weren't marking up the walls. There was an ample amount of staff for memory care. The rooms were well put together with plenty of room for wheelchair access, if needed. The menu looked very nice. They cared for all ranges of diets, including soft meals for those with dentures. The staff seemed very kind, too.

Brookdale Tempe was very nice. We were all impressed. The facility looked very good. They have common rooms. They have a kitchen that supporters of a patient can use, and they can all eat together. They had a courtyard. The size of the rooms was very good. It was nearby to some restaurants. It was just remodeled. It was very clean.

I've completed my tour at Brookdale Tempe. They received us very quickly and our questions were answered. They showed us the rooms, the care they receive, the techniques, and also the level of education and training for the staff, and how long they have been in business. It was very thorough, that's why we spent at least two hours in the meeting and the touring. The lady that attended us was very pleasant and very welcoming. The facility was freshly renovated so it looked brand new, it was very nice, and everything looked clean. They have a beauty salon, they have therapy that comes in and orthopedic and podiatric services. And they have a doctor that comes in, they have an RN on staff, and then they have the assistant to the physician that comes in weekly.

I went to Brookdale Tempe. The staff was super nice. However, they were full memory care, and my mom is not quite at that stage, so we decided that it would be better if she went more with assisted living. But the staff was so nice and so kind and my gosh, she even sent me home with cookies that day to take home for the family. It looked like a super nice facility; it was nice. The staff was very thorough. She listened to everything that I had to say, my concerns, and all that. And then we tried to critique to get around that, and she was the one that told me that, with the pricing and all that, my mom wasn't quite ready for that kind of care, that she didn't need to be looked over that much, and that she was still able to get out walk the dogs and do all those things. However, the people that are there can't remember things and are bad, so they need assistance pretty much all through the day. With amenities, the staff said they have like group things where they try to help people, and they have like little activities as far as painting and stuff like that for the ones that can do that. From everything that I saw, it was spotless. It was nice.

We liked Brookdale Tempe. Their staff was really nice and caring. The facility was nice. The upkeep was nice. It was all very good. It was one that we considered. They have a nice room. There wasn't anything bad I could say about them, and they recently remodeled. The staff answered all our questions, she was very responsible, and she met all our needs. The food seemed very nutritious. They were having hors d'oeuvres for everyone there, and it seemed very good. They had painting and different activities that were on display. The people liked it. It was very good.

Brookdale Tempe wasnt as friendly as the other community that I visited. It almost looked the same as the other place. The woman I was supposed to meet had to run out for something. I walked around and asked about what they do for memory care, but they said this place isn't geared toward it. It didn't give me a good feeling, although it was clean. It looked nice and it was greatm although I didn't see much of it when I walked around. The other person said to me that if I go to the other side it's just the same as the side I saw. After that the lady still wasn't back, so I said, "Well, tell her I missed her and you did a very good job." The girl who took me around barely talked and would just say "This is this, this is that." It was just the two people, but I wonder if they're like that with everybody.

I chose Brookdale Tempe for my mother because when I walked in, it did not smell. However, they're not really honest and that had me concerned. What they were telling me regarding her medication was not true. They had gotten wrong every time what medications she was on and what they were removing her from. I didn't know about it until I had moved her, got her medication list, and saw that they were inaccurate. The reason why I moved her is because the cost increased over the two-year period more than 200%. I would not recommend it.

One of the things I liked at Brookdale Tempe was if the resident had a dog, they would put you on the ground floor and install a doggie door, plus they had a little fenced-in area right outside your porch area where the dog could go out by himself rather than be on a leash. I would seriously consider this place because of the way they handle their residents with pets. I liked the environment and the activities. They brought people in to do plays. There was just an extensive list of activities.

We visited Brookdale Tempe. It's one of the highly rated places in the area. When you walk in the door, basically, it looks like you are in a little bistro building. The residents feel like they are actually out. They have a library. They really look after individual needs. They have one hall that is for their veterans and they have a photo wall with their stories. It feels like a productive place.

Brookdale Tempe was very small. There didn't seem to be very much activity going on. There was one staff that was accommodating, but the rest were not. It was the memory care unit, so there wasn't much to see. It is all people with Alzheimer's. It felt depressing, I didn't like it, and I wasn't impressed at all. It just wasn't the place for us. It was kind of outdated.

I could not imagine a better staff or community. They have gone beyond my expectations with my father. I could not be happier with Brookdale Tempe. It's pretty small and not very modern. It's a family like community with the staff. They get to know each individual -- their personal needs, their likes. and their dislikes. They try to get them involved in whatever the person is interested in. My dad likes to cook breakfast, and in the memory care facility that's not something that the residents could do, but he's allowed to help to cook and make breakfast. They're very flexible to make everyone happy.

The staff is very nice and well entertaining at Brookdale Tempe. The rooms are very comfortable, adequate, and clean. I have personally eaten there, and I have no complaints. Security is good, and mom is secure there. They do a lot of different things there, and I would recommend the place.

They have exceptional staff from management to caregivers. They go above and beyond. They truly care for the residents. The people I spoke to said I was very fortunate to find such a facility. If there were 10 stars, I would rate it accordingly.
