About Arizuma Horizons Assisted Living in Sun City, Arizona
All the Comforts of Home. Our loved ones need to feel a sense of community, knowing that they are safe and among friends. With Live-In Caregivers on site, we offer this care in a smaller home setting, with no more than 10 residents. Our residents never get lost in the shuffle of a large institutional building. Our close-knit home makes it easier for our trained caregivers to observe every nuance of our resident's personality, as well as their physical, emotional, social and medical needs so that they can be responsive and our residents get the attention they need when they need it. It Takes a Village When family provides personal care for a higher needs loved one it can be stressful, worrisome and time-consuming; we love them, but we are not trained for the specific tasks and effort required to serve their needs. We may also have concerns with regard to them being lonely and isolated or we may feel stressed simply imagining what would happen at a time of emergency, if not properly prepared, or they were alone. In-home visiting caregivers provide a valuable service, but not necessarily for everyone. It can be more expensive than an assisted living home and subject to frequent changes of caregivers. Attention and care is generally only available during preset appointments; however, those for whom we care, may need more frequent companionship, supervision, a sense of belonging and the security of knowing that someone is always available. I went to Arizuma Horizons Assisted Living. They're very nice people. It was a good place. The least thing that I liked least about it was that you have to wind around inside of this maze of streets to find it, and I would have to use my MapQuest stuff to be able to find it every time. The best thing I liked about it is the people were really nice. They were very kind. It was clean. They kept it up really well. It was run like a home and I liked that. I liked that the people seemed to be very honest and upfront. I'm definitely considering it, but I have other places to go look at first. They said they had activities, but it's a very small place. I don't know what kind of activities they do. They have a TV room with a bunch of reclining chairs for everybody to sit in. The other thing that I liked about this place is that they have a lot of help. I've been to places where there was just one person watching everybody, and this place has a lot of people that are there watching these people, and they stay there all night. They have a room upstairs where the caregivers sleep at night, so there are several people there all the time, and I liked that.
