I have 2 family members who call Solstice their home and they LOVE the friendly staff, wonderful food and fun activities! We visit there about 3 times a week. The activities are numerous and varied. Outings are offered on a regular basis. Location makes this independent living facility quite attractive. Food Service team produces a good variety of food three times a day, seven days a week with a smile. We have witnessed a major remodel/refresh, their handling life with COVID, and the many trials seniors and their families face in life.

I toured Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. I was impressed with it. They had lots of buses and town cars and things like that to take you where you wanted to go. It was located near lots of shopping. They had a lovely dining room, and they allowed smoking, which was a biggie for me because I'm a smoker. But the rooms were much smaller than the other place. It was older, but it was very nice. The staff member who gave the tour was not really friendly. She kind of dumped me off on people and I didn't get a good feel for how much everything would cost, and so I was a little disappointed. The food was good. For activities they allowed dogs, because I saw dogs. They had a library so you could read. Everybody there was so nice.

The tour at Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West was good. Oddly, they weren't expecting us. We were on their schedule, which was kind of strange, so we had to wait a little while to have somebody free up or something to take us around, which was okay. When we came in, it had more of a hotel feel than a home feel. There were people in the lobby, but nobody spoke to us other than the tour lady. The staff was nice and very helpful. She showed us various rooms, and some were being renovated. It's a bigger facility. It had these long corridors. Aside from the first floor, where most of the activities and things are, the others were not air-conditioned, so it was pretty warm. When we went to look at the exercise room, I noticed that two treadmills up there were out of order.

Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West was very nice. The grounds were pleasant and adequate. The rooms were small, but all the necessities were there. The staff was informative. They had a little library, and they have a big gathering place where you could just sit. When you go there, included in your monthly rent is a rec center card to the recreational centers at Sun City West.

Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West was much older. Some of the interior rooms were tired looking. They hardly had been updated much. The staff seemed busy. Some of the things we like is that the outdoor area has a bocce ball court. The outside was quite large with the pool of course. We liked the outside, but the gym was kind of disappointing. In terms of location, it's close to restaurants and hospitals, too.

We toured Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. Everybody was very friendly and very helpful. We liked the atmosphere and everything. The rooms were nice. They're average size from what we've seen. The common dining area was very nice, and the grounds were very nice and very well laid out. They have activities. They had some kind of bingo.

I was impressed by Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. I like the location. It's close to the life I've lived in Sun City West. The first time I went, they had a sign that said, "Welcome home, Sibyl," and I thought that made me feel good. I had lunch there, and I ordered an omelet, and it was so good. The staff members were very good. They have a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and laundry. If you want them to change your bed, you put the clean sheets on the bed, and they'll change your bed.

We toured Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. I like the apartment setup. It seemed roomy and good. The apartment has a full kitchen. It has a microwave and all the kitchen stuff. The staff who toured me around was very knowledgeable about the place. He has worked there for quite a while. They have a balcony there, too.

My mom will be moving into Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. We liked that it was in Sun City West. It was clean. Everybody seemed friendly, so it looked like a good place for her. They have lots of activities. They have a schedule that they can look at. They have bingo. They've got all kinds of things there that are very nice. I've tried their food, and it was good. The staff was amazing. They're topnotch. It's very clean. They just had their grand re-opening, and they've done a great job fixing it up. Even their maintenance guy is good. I think they've done a great job.

I visited Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West independent living. I talked with the director and he gave me a tour. We went over all the things that they had to offer in the facility. It was a very good tour. Jim did a very good job, took me around, showed me the 2 two-bedroom apartments available and they were good. I got a good feeling about the place. It seemed like everybody was very interactive and enjoying themselves. It looked like they were glad to be there. The people were very friendly and introduced themselves. They're more than willing to talk. The dining area looked nice. People are telling me that the food was great there. They had no complaints whatsoever with the food. They look like they have a bingo session, a card club, a bridge club, and physical activities where you could do exercises either by yourself or have somebody there with you helping along. The facility is a little bit older but other than that, it was a nice facility. It had a pool and was laid out nicely. It was very easy to tour and visit the rooms and stuff. They got a lot to offer for the people there.

I visited this facility as part of my seeking facilities that offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. They do not have onsite assisted living but use a third-party provider to contract directly with residents. They do not have Memory Care but have an agreement with a nearby provider who does. The facility is 47 years of age and well maintained. We observed some interaction between staff and residents. All were cordial and friendly. We toured two apartments and found them to be newly updated, clean and with adequate space for a 2-bedroom unit. Unfortunately, other facilities in the area offer multiple levels of care at about the same pricing points. Bottom Line is that there are some facilities which are newer and more physically and financially attractive for meeting our needs

I went to look at Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. The staff member greeted me at the door. He was very friendly and very informative. He showed me around the grounds, and we toured the dining room. He was very helpful and gave me some more information with a pamphlet on it. The dining area was very nice. They sent me home a little blueberry loaf of bread that they made, and it was very good and very fresh. The rooms are very nice looking. Some of them are remodeled, and the price varies by the floor and the remodel. It looked like they were getting pretty good upkeep on it. They showed me the fitness room and conference room. They had a washing machine that you could use if you needed to. It was pretty nice. It was friendly and clean.

I was living in Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West for three years. They're very good. Of course, we went through the pandemic, and we had meals in our rooms, which was part of the course at that time. I don't have anything but positive to say about Solstice. It's just that I need a little more care. I realized that the last time I fell and fractured my shoulder, and I was in rehab for over a month, and I knew I needed additional caregiving. Solstice was independent living. The condition of the place was fine. The staff members were wonderful. They were great. But at this point, I would rather be in assisted living, but still, have some freedom to go to their amenities and things. When we went into the pandemic, they did everything they could to accommodate us. There was no problem there. We didn't have a case in there, and when they finally had a case, they removed them from employment for however long, and they treated us all with vaccine and flu shots. I have nothing that I can say bad about them. Now that I'm in my daughter and her husband's home, there's a couple of people that have called for services, because my kids were helping seniors, and I have recommended a couple of those people to Solstice because I knew that was what they needed. Activities were geared toward everybody. If you were on a walker, obviously you couldn't go dancing or something, but they provided good entertainment and they adapted it so that it was always something we could do. The food was good. The value for the money was good, too. With the pandemic, they immediately kept us safe and kept us away from exposure as much as possible.

I went to Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. It was the least expensive place and also the least impressive place. It was very dirty, and not very well kept. The staff texted me, and I said I'm on my way; then she wasn't there, when I got there. She wasn't prepared for me to give a tour. They need a lot of updating. The apartment that she showed me, she said was updated. It had not been updated at all, except the flooring; that's it. The appliances were older. The kitchen looked older, like it was still the 1980s. I know they have a pool, and I believe they have an activity room.

My mom just moved into Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West a couple of days ago. She's in independent living. The tour I had with them before moving her in was nice. The staff is caring and they're going through a complete remodel so everything from the walls to the flooring is all being remodeled right now. They're going to have a complete upgrade by the end of the year which is nice, it'll be nice and fresh. So far, my mom has only been there a couple of days and I'm still moving her things in. The staff is nice. We chose them specifically because they had ground-floor apartments with backyards. After all, my mom has dogs. It was the only place that we found that would take her 2 pets and a nice little patio backyard.

Solstice in Sun City West is absolutely beautiful. I like all of it. It is very pretty. The girl that interviewed us and the marketing person were adorable. The problem was the price. I could not quite afford it. It is spacious. It is bright and open. It is also big. They have a lot of rooms. The people there are active. They are going on bus rides, and they have a bunch of other activities.

We visited Solstice in Sun City, and we weren't really all that impressed. It seemed to be kind of old; it just didn't please us. The staff was great; she did a good job. They invited us to come back for dinner some night, but we didn't go. I have to look at their folder because I don't really remember about the amenities.

I toured Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. It looked very attractive, very nice, the apartment was small, but I expected that. The rooms were smaller than I thought they would be perhaps, but the view from the living room and bedroom were delightful. The staff was very kind and very helpful. The entry area was attractive. It has a great location, near things you can go to and enjoy, or a shopping standpoint and entertainment standpoint. We passed a couple of people that lived there and they seemed very pleasant people too.

I have moved into Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West. We are on lockdown now, but I do feel safe and comfortable. I don't know about the food because we haven't had the dining room open since I moved in. I have an apartment. It has a kitchen with a stove and a fridge. It also has a living room, a dedicated bedroom, and a bathroom. It is almost like a large hotel. They have activities, but they're closed down now. A lot of things are done differently than normal. It is reasonable and it is all under one roof. I could go to the washroom, the trashroom, the dining room, or to wherever I need without stepping outside. In Arizona, for me, that's an advantage because I don't have to go out and walk. The staff members are very friendly and very cooperative. We are getting food sent up to our apartments three times during the day and everything is in a to-go box. The food doesn't look very appetizing, but it is pretty good.

The staff at Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West has been great and we've had no issues there. When my grandmother first arrived there, they were still able to go to the dining room and the food is great. Now since they're locked down, the staff is delivering food to the rooms and the food is now sub-par but it's understandable. They're really trying their best. So lately since the residents have been quarantined to their rooms the food isn't that great but it was great before. She's on a low-sodium diet as per her doctor but there are really no options for her at the moment. Normally, they have games, she really likes the library, the activities are no issue at all. Her room is very nice, pretty bright and open. The rest of the community is a bit banged up with lots of dents where you could see things that hit the walls, paint that needs to be redone and things that don't match. The aesthetics probably needs to be updated and repainted. Her apartment in particular is great though.

I partially moved into Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West, but I'm not completely living there yet. I chose it because it was available, I took a tour, everything seemed okay, and the price was reasonable. I tried the meals, and they seemed to be okay. I think the hallways were dim and dull, not bright. They only have transportation 2 days a week, and around 4 hours in the day. The outside appearance looked rundown and needs some maintenance, but it was clean. The dining area was spacious and a bit brighter.

We chose Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West for Mom because of its location, proximity to us, and the activities that they offer. The staff was nice. We saw one-bedroom apartments. The food was great. They have Wii bowling, they have a Coca Cola room (that was really cool), a gym, and a spa. They have everything there. The staff was nice and very accommodating. It's a little bit of an older building.

My visit to Solstice at Sun City West was fine. It just didn't meet our needs; the kitchen is very small. The room is basically a small apartment. The staff members seem to get along fine with everybody. The dining area is fine too. The exercise room is very small; they only have a couple of pieces of equipment. The parking is fine.

Solstice Senior Living at Sun City West (formerly The Madison) was a nice place. It had gardens, a swimming pool, workout centers, very nice cafeteria/dining room, a lot of extra rooms here and there, and a library. During the last year of Mom's life, she was pretty demented, but she enjoyed going down eating, she would take some walks here and there, and she kind of kept to herself. The food was good. I was pretty impressed with the place. People were in the library, outside enjoying the outdoors, and a lot were in the dining room. There were all sorts of people visiting such as different singers, people reading poetry, and entertainment. There was something going on all the time. The staff was very helpful.

The food and activities seem very good. They have plenty to do every day. The amenities are nice; they have a pool and a restaurant, and then another eating area under a covered patio overlooking the pool area. They have a koi pond and nice greenery. My mother-in-law likes to walk a lot since she's an outdoor person, so this community is really the best one. She lives in an apartment and has a very small kitchen with a stove and oven. She can cook, but if it gets to where it's not safe for her to, the stove and oven can be turned off.

They had nice gardens. As I recall, there was a walkway between the independent living and the assisted living. I think it was quite amazing that the people who work there seemed like they really enjoy their jobs. We were invited to have lunch, and it was very nice. It looked like the meal was well planned. It was quite good. The facility was a little small as far as the living area, but other than that it seemed quite adequate. The rooms were fairly small. They had a balcony at one end so you could sit outside.

The chef made the food more interesting here than all the other places. They are well trained and have interesting ideas. The staff called everybody by their names and knew something about the residents. They have nice apartments but like the other places, they were kind of small. They have many activities for the day and they have a calendar for the month. For the men, they’ve got poker and they showed movies every evening. They took them on walks, they had outings to local shopping or to places interesting to see. I’m hoping to move in in 4-6 weeks.

What I like about the community is that it's local. I live in Sun City West and some of the people I know live there. Also the amenities of the community are open to their residents there, and that's something I like. I also like going to the library and getting books, water exercises and water walking, etc., and these are the things that are open to me as well. They did have activities that I was interested in. They would play cards, bingo, they would have field trips and if you want to go to a store, that can be arranged, etc. It was certainly an active community. The staff was very friendly and very cordial. They have been sending me newsletter to show their amenities and all the busy things they do. They also showed me their menus of what they serve. I ate there and the food was very good. The dining room was very nice and there's lot of choices. If you didn't see anything you like, there is also another menu with stuff that people usually eat, e.g., a hamburger goes always. It's very nice. My friend has an apartment there and it's very nice. She likes it. She seems to be happy there. She hasn't been there very long, yet she's fitting in. She has met some of her neighbors that live on the same hall as she does. They have been very nice to her and cordial and have had lunch with her.

The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. The transportation people are wonderful. The food is good and they have a chef on staff. Everybody who works there know all the residents, their doctor's appointment and it works out really well. There are plenty of activities, about five or six a day.
