I visited Brookdale Peoria for my mother. It was fine. I was impressed by the facility. I was impressed by the level of care, the number of staff per resident, the ratio there, to me it was a high level of care. The facility was an older facility, and it was well maintained. Generally speaking, it was everything: the programs, and the activities they have to offer even during Covid. They were busy doing testing and stuff yesterday and they still found ways to get people in. The only drawback for me, and they will still give me some more information about discounts, was that the price was very high. We are a private pay; we are not supplemented by anything.

We went to Brookdale Peoria, but that was too far from where we're going to live. It's great, we liked it, but it's too far. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, it was clean, they were nice with great amenities, and we looked at the food service. Everything was wonderful.

Brookdale Peoria has been pretty good. The people are very warm and welcoming. They have games, regular Bingo, card games, a van that take them out to stores and restaurants, and group things. My mom complains about the food though.

The rooms at Brookdale Peoria were beautiful. My mother and I went to the dining room for lunch. They have wonderful food. The chef came out and introduced himself. Other members of the community also came out. One woman even sat with us. There was a game room, a really big library, and there were women playing cards. They have movie nights and a lot of nice things. The staff is wonderful. The day that I went to take a tour with my mom was the coordinator's day off, but she actually came in to show us around. It's a lovely place. In fact, my mom is going to be staying there for respite.

Brookdale was a pretty nice, smaller community, so it's a little bit cozy. They hadp lots of activities, watching group movies, and exercise. We were there for lunch, and the food was pretty good. The outside grounds were pretty nice, the staff seemed very positive, friendly and smiling, and they're pretty dedicated.

Brookdale Peoria is very nice. Mom has a 1-bedroom apartment with a little kitchenette and a bathroom. Mom loves the food there. They have a shuttle that takes them to shopping and doctors' appointments. They plan their activities for a month like bingo, games, and books. It had a patio on the inside with trees in there and birdhouses, so the residents can go out, sit in the sun, and watch the birds.

I was at Brookdale Peoria for three months. It was a nice place with good food, nice activities, and good care. They had a lot of music events, exercises, games, and puzzles. The rooms were very small. They had a nice courtyard, and the location had a lot of businesses in the area. The place was pretty well kept.

My dad and I very much like Brookdale Peoria. It's a small community with a lot of activities for my dad to do. I like the staff because they've been there for many years and are caring and attentive. The food is really good, too. They have bingo, arts, games, go on field trips, and do family activities like family nights. Dad has a studio room that he's happy with and a great nurse and staff who take care of his medications. I like the director, too. If there's something wrong, they call the family right away. They have different levels of memory care. I would recommend them to others. The facility is very clean, and I like that they have a courtyard.

Our visit at Brookdale Peoria was not good. I think my mom would have been one of the highest functioning people there, which I didn’t care for at all. The place was really small, yet there was one lady that needed help, but the staff was not coming. I didn’t like it at all.

We placed my father in Brookdale Peoria. The environment is good. The staff is friendly and caring. He is in an apartment. It is clean, and for him it is big enough. It gives him enough room for what he needs to do. He plays bingo, and they have little exercises that they do.

Sterling House of Peoria seemed like a nice place and the people were nice. I didn't see anything wrong with it, except for the room situation. They did not have any semi-private rooms available at that time. They had many things for people to do there and I think they were sufficient in terms of activities. I liked that they seemed to be well-coordinated in running their operation. It was clean and it seemed like they were well-staffed.

Since my father has been a resident of Sterling House, he has come out of his "Hermit" stage and is socoalizing with others again. His level of care is excellent and he has become more outgoing.

Not all caregivers are the same-some really do care, others just show up! Knowing your residents and being able to know their needs when they can't ask is special. Communication is important.

My husband is watched and cared for at Sterling House. My Mom was there. My Aunt was there. And now my husband is there. I visit almost everyday and they embrace you and know who you are. They will help in any way possible. Very homey!

The staff are great- caring, personable, cheerful. They really try to keep residents safe, happy, healthy and occupied. The facility is very clean and virtually odor free. Pleasant homey touches. The food is good. Good portions. Snacks always available. Staff turnover is very low!

I looked at Sterling House of Peoria for mom. I like this facility, but they have a high percentage of seriously Alzheimer's people. It's a locked down facility, but it didn’t seem one because it was nice, fresh, and open although they lock down the front door. I met the sales lady and she was very nice. She showed me everything; every room available. Their rooms were nice, but their closets were inadequate. I saw their activity area, but there was nothing going on.

On the surface the facility presented well. Many promises were made about the care that would be provided and it did not happen. The facility is not staffed to accommodate the needs of the current residents. The staff RN is not able to handle the patient load. When the RN was out on vacation/personal leave a replacement was not on site leaving a tremendous backlog of work. The facility has very poor communication with the family. Personal belongings are lost. This facility is NOT well suited for individuals needing daily assistance.

My dad is currently at this facility. It is especially well-suited to memory care issues. They do a good job of treating my dad on a whole as a person who had an amazing life and is now losing his mental faculties. The facility is attractive and well maintained and the people are very nice. They have nice holiday parties and are welcoming to families. The only negative I have to say is due to staff changes, there are some things that can fall through the cracks like trying to coordinate a mobile dentist appointment for example. One family member should be in charge of the resident's care at all times to make sure medical and other needs are met. Of course, this would apply to any facility.

We visited the Sterling House of Peoria assisted living facility while searching for a place for our parents to live in the Peoria region. The outside looked well maintained and the grounds spacious. Residents can also tend the garden. The indoor foyer was fresh and bright with very nice decorations and furniture. All of the indoor rooms had plenty of fresh air and light. Each room was beautifully decorated and furnished. The facility can accommodate all levels of ambulation. The colors throughout the building were soothing and comfortable. Communal activity rooms were spacious, with comfortable furniture. The seniors can easily socialize, make crafts, play games, watch TV and films and participate in many other interesting activities. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks or take aerobics and yoga classes regularly offered. The residents go on many trips to visit the many local art galleries and museums, eat at casual and fine restaurants and enjoy the many cultural events offered in the region. The list of activities we saw included - sight seeing, art and musical events, seminars, local shopping, daily exercise, parties and other social gatherings. The menus all had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them. The dining room was quite nice, spacious and fresh. The private rooms featured plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture. The residents looked like they enjoyed living here with caring and attentive staff.
