I'm not interested in Whitestone Assisted Living. I feel like it's very dark and I'm not comfortable that the wellness director is only an LPN. It doesn't seem like there's very good medical oversight. The facility was nice and the villa was nice, but it felt like a nursing home, and I don't know that my dad would be comfortable leaving my mother there. I was not impressed with this community. I don't think that it was fairly priced. Whitestone was smaller and darker. The building not only looked older, but it smelled older. I wasn't able to interact with the staff because they were kind of just sitting around. When I went into one of the villas, one of the staff members was on her phone. The other staff member who we talked with was alert. He was very personable and pleasant, but the staff didn't seem to be engaged with the residents beyond just passing medications and performing activities of daily living with the residents. It felt a little disconnected to me. My mom would kind of be left on her own and left to her own devices. The building was old. The lady who toured us had a difficult time getting in and out of a secured gate. The gate was rusted and looked very old. It looked like it needed to be repaired. The rooms seemed distant. Their wellness director is an LPN, and she's distant. She's not connected and involved, so it made me very uncomfortable. I just felt like I would be putting my mom in a room and forgetting about her.
