My father-in-law stayed in Brookdale East Arbor. I liked the facility itself. It was clean. It smelled good. The staff were really friendly and attentive and constantly were checking on him. We tried the food, and it was good. My father-in-law wasn't so keen on it, but he was very picky. But the food was good. My father-in-law's living space was really nice. It was spacious. It was set up well for wheelchair access. We never got to participate in activities because my father-in-law wasn't well enough, but it seemed like the other residents were having fun. And with regards to value for money, it was expensive, especially for the extra care.

I went to Brookdale East Arbor. The one thing that I liked was there were only 50 residents. And the rooms, they had a living room, a bedroom, and a bath. It was great. It all had windows that faced out into a yard. People were friendly. And it felt like you had gone home. It was a family residence. It was very beautiful. The landscaping was well done and they had a lovely patio, both on the north side and the east side where all the residents were. My husband and I spend a lot of time outside, so that was a plus for us.

I'm now at Brookdale East Arbor. I like the friendliness of it. The room is very nice. It's modern, up-to-date, and clean. They have happy hour. They have musicians and singers that come in. They have an ice cream where you get a bowl of ice cream on Sunday. They have bingo. They have a pastor who comes in for church services. They have an exercise group every morning. The staff are on such a rotation basis as far as working here. They work for a while and then they leave and another one comes in. They have a tremendous overturn of caregivers, so you don't have a chance to get to know them.

I visited Brookdale East Arbor assisted living sometime this month when my niece was considering having my sister move there. I thought the upkeep was very nice, the outside looks very homey which is something very striking to me. I felt that it was clean which is important. The residents seem to be being paid attention to. The person who gave me the tour, I believe he was the director, was very nice and very informative. I saw that they had a room where a lady was doing something with residents. She was taking care of them, and helping them out. They took me to one of the apartments and I thought they were very nice. They had a nice kitchen. They also had a game room and a nice place for the residents to watch TV together if they wanted. They're doing activities and they told me about other activities that they do but at the time of my visit, there weren't a lot of residents in the activity room. The ones that were there had a person working with them. There were also people in the hallways and everybody seemed to be happy. The rooms I saw were very cozy and very roomy. They were just nice. They showed me two of them and both were just nice and spacious. They were set up for somebody needing to easily get in and out of the shower so the whole thing was just very well laid out. I was so pleasantly surprised because so many places you go into feels like a nursing home and this did not. This felt like these people have a home, and that was very inspiring to me, I guess, to know that older people are being cared for that way.

Brookdale East Arbor was nice. I liked it. The people were wonderful. I went there and it was lunchtime and it smelled so good. Everybody was sitting at the table eating. They all looked happy. Some of them were sitting in the common area and they were just chatting and dancing. I saw a studio apartment and a one-bedroom. They were very nice. The paint went well. It was bright. Everything was nice. The hallways were gorgeous. Everything was bright. It wasn't like a hallway going into a dark hole. It was just great. There was one activity going on. There were like five or six people and it was an outlook on life. They're older and they can't move around, and they're showing them that it can be a positive thing and not a negative thing being in a home. There were so many different rooms, sitting rooms, and stuff, and they had books in all of them. They had a really big outdoor porch. I like it because they did things with the people. The facility was very nice. The staff who showed me around was awesome and so upbeat. He could sell anything to anybody and he was so nice.

I was looking for my older sister who is now needing care. Living in the area, I drive by this community frequently. Because of the curb appeal and neatly landscaped lawns, this community was top of my list to tour. I stopped by unannounced. The executive director was pleasant and informative as he showed me around. The entire community was modern, bright and clean. It had been completely renovated less than a year ago, including a lovely sun room and a private spa room with a large walk in tub which my sister would so enjoy! I liked that it was all one level with private apartments and a sweet courtyard in the center of the building. Several of the staff stopped to meet me. I asked about staff turnover and was introduced to several who had worked there 6 to 14 years! I watched to see how the staff interacted with a few residents and was pleased to see them speak to them with respect and kindness. Over all, I was impressed! Brookdale East Arbor is the community we will choose!

I was really not impressed with Brookdale East Arbor. It was just chaotic from the get go. It appeared as a locked facility. It's like an industrial park. It didn't feel like a home necessarily. I didn't really get a good feel for the staff. The one person that I talked to was very pleasant. I don't think they realized I was coming for a tour. They were confused about who I was, who I was there to see, and why I was there. They didn't know. It seemed very chaotic. When you walk in, the first thing you walk into is their kitchen, where people are eating (which seems silly). Everything is just jammed together. It didn't have much in the way of activities. The different spaces for things were just haphazard. They had a gym with three pieces of equipment in it and the bare wall. This isn't a gym. It's like three pieces of someone's cast off equipment with a mirror in it. The food smelled pretty bad. I didn't get a chance to see the menu. The tables were all jammed together. There wasn't a lot of space for the residents. It was crowded.

Everything at Brookdale East Arbor was awesome, from the people, to the smell, and the feel of the place. I looked at about five different ones and I also talked to other people that I know who have their parents there, and it was off the charts. If my mom needed assisted living, that's where I would put her. Some of the residents there were going up and down the hall and some were in wheelchairs, but they all seemed happy. The employees knew them by their first names and everybody was very jovial. The residents obviously felt very comfortable with the staff and I really liked that. The food and the preparation, everything was clean, and the choices were awesome. It was a really pleasant atmosphere. The facility was great. There was easy access, it was clean, and well set up. Everything was in good state of repair. It smelled nice and it was easy for mobility for everybody.

This place has slowing fall out of places. My grandmother has been here for over 5 months and the management team keeps changing they have lost a lot of wonderful caregivers and management. They food has been the same over and over never changes, it seems to be like a routine doesn't seem to be like other community where there's always new food to try. Our family has been to impress with the services we've spoke to some of the new management on thing that have been going on but it never seems to be solve. There a employee that's a caregiver that is rude to my grandmother most of the time my grandmother has requested other caregiver because of the way she's been treated the nurse just seems to now care about this situation because it hasn't change anything. Activities have gone a little down hill not much fun going on anymore. We've filed a complaint with cooperate to try to get things resolve. They community promises a lot of things but never complete the promises

My mom is in Brookdale East Arbor. They have a very nice dining room. This is a small facility with less than 60 people. They have a little place that looks like an ice cream shop with a checkered table, movies, bingo, and church services. They have something going on most of the time for the residents. They have two nurses, so there's always a nurse on duty during the day. They also have people who dispense the meds around the clock. Mom is in a one-bedroom with a nice queen-size bed. It is small, but she has a lot of room to move around.

Although the care staff is friendly and took good care of my father, the front office staff who managed his overall care and residence experience was terrible. We were upfront with my dad's needs before moving in and less than three months later he was evicted with no notice for those same needs. The management team never even informed my father, who was in the hospital at the time. I negotiated with the resident director on a final balance amount and that manager left and now new management is stating they are not willing to work with me. I have filed a formal complaint with Brookdale corporate.

Brookdale East Arbor (Formerly Sterling House of Mesa) was a little smaller, a little more intimate, and not as flashy as the other place, but it's good in different ways. The rooms and apartments were small. Their dining room was also smaller, but it was very nice, and they had linens on the table, like a small restaurant. The staff mentioned some activities, but we didn't see any, except for lunch happening in the dining room. The activities were minimal, but some residents would like the lack of structure and more intimate feeling of the place.

I thought that Brookdale East Arbor was well run. The meals and the activities were good. I think my dad was just obviously too much for them to handle. I did not know if it was a good fit for him or not. It seemed fine as long as he was busy, but I do not think they can monitor his sleeping. He did not get enough sleep there, and he got really disorientated. I really liked the place, but it just did not work out for us.

Brookdale East Arbor was a very nice facility and smaller. The staff was great, and I talked to some of the residents; they all seemed extremely happy. They had all kinds of activities, their dining room was great and homey.

My friend went into hospice at Sterling House of Mesa but was only there for three days. It was absolutely excellent. They were very caring with the family. They couldn't have been more cordial or better. The people working there were fabulous and we were all pleased. The care he got was just excellent. I definitely would recommend them.

This is a medium sized facility. The building is all one story. It is a beautiful, well maintained brick building. I saw it is nice inside as well and clean,They have white columns in front and a front porch. They have grass, palm trees, shrubs and flowers. It is a secure facility with an enclosed courtyard. There is a patio and walking areas. They have independent living with one and two bedrooms.Assisted with studio and one bedroom with partial kitchens. They also have a memory care unit with studio and one bedroom. All have their own dining rooms. They have room for 153 residents. They provide three meals and snacks daily. The main dining room is nice with restaurant style service and the food is great. They offer alternates for the main entrees amd other specialties. They have multi=purpose room, a fitness room, a beautician who comes on Wednesdays, Sitting areas, and tvs. They have house doctors who come, a nurse on duty, and activity director, and rehab. All caregivers are certified. The staff seems very nice. They transport to doctors. They do lots of activities and go shopping and to lunches and events. I really like this facility. It is simple, clean, and nice.
