My 97 yr old mother was a patient here for 2 weeks following emergency hip surgery after a fall. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and overall nursing care at this facility. Rehabilitation services are supplied by a contracted service. The Physical Therapists were all very good. Occupational Therapy was more spotty, some good, some not so good. As discharge date neared, therapy was not showing up like before. OT spent very little time preparing mom for how to change and put on Depends, dress herself, etc. while using long handled shoe horn and picker/puller and observing the precautions following hip surgery.

This facility could be a little cleaner. The nurses seem caring and nice. But it is very difficult to communicate with any of the management. I very seldom was able to have anyone answer the main phone number. Was often left hanging when I did get through. Their windows are covered with black mesh screens making it impossible to even visit through a window. The courtyard has a huge cage of parakeets which make it very noisy and almost impossible to hear my husband speak. It's been impossible to get a statement of charges. A lot of his personal belongings went missing when he left.

My Father was sent to Santa Rita In-patient rehab from a hospital stay . He was discharged with the plan for out-patient rehab. My mother had to cancel appointment. The day he was discharged we took him to his Primary Care doctor(not a Santa Rita Doctor). He had been complaining of stomach hurting. This would happen every time he was going to eat. From him being discharged they have been receiving calls from Santa Rita regarding out patient therapy. My Mother has told them that he is not ready for any therapy at this time. They keep calling. They have called me, they are calling my dad's cell phone and still keep calling the house. We have told them, we are no longer under their care and do not wish for any of their services. This is becoming harassment. My parents did feel the service was better this time. The food was not great. The food came to the room cold. They have had friends that have gone thru this also. My parents will never go there again. This is very upsetting to them.

My father stayed in Santa Rita Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, which was a skilled nursing facility. The place is kind of rundown and old. Their staff is not what I would call quality staff, they didn't seem to really care a lot about their patients. The food was bad. It just was, in some cases, not even palatable. If you had it delivered or brought to your room, it was cold by the time it got there and it was overcooked. It just was not a very quality place. They need to improve on everything.

Santa Rita Nursing & Rehabilitation Center could have done a lot better. They never had their drugs on time. I was in pain a lot, and they didn’t have the pain pills ready, so I always had to wait. I was not satisfied with them. The food was OK, the rooms were clean, and the staff was quite good. They had activities, such as physical therapy, but I was unable to participate in the other activities.

My husband was in Santa Rita Rehab, which I do not care for. It was noisy and large, and there was just too much activity going on. The staff was OK. He did not like the food. We just did not care for the facility that much. It was not where I wanted him to be, plus the fact that it cost $2,000 more a month for him to be there than at the other place was significant. Part of the problem with Santa Rita is that it is one of the only places in town so that I could be near my husband. There just aren't a great number of choices here. It was clean enough and, of course, he was incontinent, so he had some issues. I would say it was acceptable certainly in that regard -- cleanliness.
