My mom has moved into American Orchards. The location works for us. It is relatively new, small, and has a very homey feel. I felt it would fit my mom's personality. The staff members are awesome. She has only been there for a couple of weeks now. They have music and therapy. They have activities going all the time and they do their best to get the people involved. They do what they need to do. I'm very happy with them.

Had an absolutely awful experience at American Orchards, Very disappointing. The community relations, director and marketing people here are absolutely unable or unwilling to provide honest, straight forward answers to questions regarding their facility requirements. Yet they have no problem taking you on a tour to show how wonderful their facility would be for your loved one, get your hopes up and then basically stone wall you when it comes to giving details on what it would take to have them stay there. Finding a place for someone in need of memory care is difficult and stressful enough. It can be heartbreaking. Be wary of anything these people tell you as the responses they do provide are all very contradictory and arbitrary.. then they simply dismiss you and move on with their day. They seem to give little to no thought on how their treatment of people affects those seeking help for a loved one who can no longer care for themselves. On the surface American Orchards seems ideal, nice setting very homey. However if this or any facility you visit is not honest and up front with you from the beginning that is definitely not a good sign of how it is run. Think twice about this place no matter how nice it might seem on the surface.

I went to American Orchards. I loved it. They were very nice. It was extremely homey feeling. It was more like a house. The staff was very nice. It was a big place, but it was set up more like a home. They have patios all around it. The older people can sit outside and have their breakfast on the patio. It was more like a home, and I really like that. It was a lot less institutional looking.

American Orchards is the third facility I have place my mom into in the past three years. I wish it had been my first. I have two facilities to compare American Orchards to and I can honestly say there is no comparison. These previous facilities made promises they couldn’t keep, provided subpar care that was borderline neglect, provided terrible meals. I visited my mom every day just to ensure she was ok and was getting things she needed. American Orchards is priced higher than most facilities I have researched but the excellent care she receives and the relief of concern and stressful situations we endured is worth every penny. You definitely get what you pay for. My mom is in a facility because she needs care and American Orchards provides excellent, quality care. All of the employees are friendly, helpful and show genuine concern for my mom’s wellbeing. They provide quality meals with many choices. Before, I would find my mom in the same clothes for days until “I” changed her. At American Orchards, she is in new, clean clothes every day. Care givers look in on my mom and take time to visit and talk with her, watch tv with her in her room, make her feel loved. American Orchards has an onsite nurse, 24/7. I would receive a phone call at least once a week, if not more, from her previous facilities that my mom had fallen, was sick, had edema, rashes, bed sores, etc. In the six months my mom has been at American Orchards, I have not received one call of concern. If I have a question, concern or suggestion, someone is available to talk with me or I will receive a phone call within a few hours. I highly recommend American Orchards. I still visit my mom every day but it is because I want to and not because I have to.

Extremely high priced. You will pay $6000 per month for 350 sq. ft. room. It's a bedroom with a bathroom. The meals are included, but none of the basics. You will pay a $3000 move in fee and pay 20 days beyond the day they haul your loved one out in a body bag. You must have everything out of the room and give a 20 days notice for them to stop charging you. In the meantime they will rent the room out and charge the new tenant. You will continue to be charged even though the room is occupied by someone else and after you have given 20 day notice. Seems illegal to charge a room for a dead person and a new occupant.

The rooms at American Orchards were awesome. They have big bathrooms, and some of the rooms have little kitchenettes in them with a sink and a refrigerator, and if you want to bring in a microwave you can, but they don’t supply them for safety reasons. It was beautiful. They have several beautiful dining rooms, and the food is made in the property; nothing is brought in. They have all kinds of activities. They were having a Mother's Day brunch and the Kentucky Derby party; they were having all kinds of stuff. They had a beautiful patio with a barbecue grill and a fireplace. A lot of the rooms had patios off of them, but it was more expensive. They had a memory care unit too. The owners who run it live across the street, they are there all the time, so they are within easy reach, and they have a nurse on call 24/7. I loved it. If I was older, I would move in there if I had the money.

We saw assisted living and Alzheimer's/memory care at American Orchards. It's beautiful. It's got skylights inside, so it's bright inside. It's brand new. The staff is phenomenal. They have lots of activities. They take them on field trips, they have music and exercising, they play games, and they have a recreation director that keeps them busy all day. I saw the dining area and it was very nice.
