My father-in-law happily chose Brookdale Apache Junction, and he's very excited about moving in. It's just been a positive experience. It is a multi-storied community, and my father-in-law happened to like the third floor. The other thing he liked was that it has a little stove, because he is the fudge maker of the family. He was very pleased with the aura of the community. The people were using walkers and sometimes scooters, but they were all visiting and seemed to be mentally sharp. Almost all of the staff that we spoke with have been there at least five to ten years, which we found very positive. The food was absolutely delicious. It has a pool, a lot of activities, and a lot of mental and social stimulation.

Brookdale Apache Junction was a beautiful place. It was Christmas, so they had it beautifully decorated. My husband would have gotten everything there, but it was too expensive after they added everything, so I just wasn't interested after that. The staff members were very nice. There were the two ladies that I toured with, and when I first got there, there was a very helpful receptionist. And then I visited with one of the ladies who lived there, and she didn't have a bad thing to say about the place. The apartments were one-bedroom, and you could get them with a stove and a fridge. They had their own bathroom. With regards to activities, there was a big room where they all gathered, and they were having a big sing-along in there. They have a room where they do arts and crafts. My husband's room would have been backed up in the corner on the second floor, and that was another reason I didn't like it. I thought maybe he would be forgotten up there.

I toured Brookdale Apache Junction. I liked the units. I was looking for my parents to have two separate places, so I liked these two studios next to each other. However, I didn't like the washer and dryer down the hall. They had a pool. The place was very clean. Their dining area was the norm, nothing special. The staff who toured me was very good.

I'm moving into Brookdale Apache Junction. I chose it because I wanted to be in Apache Junction. It felt like a place I could call home and the people were great in assisting me to see the place. They listen to what I was interested in as far as the apartments were concerned. I got to try the food twice and it's terrific. It was really good. I haven't moved in yet, but I just felt that I would feel more at home there. What made me feel really good was on every floor, they have little alcoves and they have a table and chairs set up. People can play games there even though on the main floor, they have a game room and all. It just seemed nice because it was on the floor that your apartment was on, and the people seemed to be enjoying themselves. I liked that very much. I've been declared legally blind, and they have a group of people with sight impairment, so that was a good thing because I needed to have that kind of support group. One thing that was very important to me is they have a chapel. They have the normal range of amenities, the game rooms, the beauty parlor, and the exercise rooms. The staff was very nice, very welcoming, and very helpful. I get a 7.5% discount yearly because I'm a Veteran and I thought that was great.

I went on a tour of Brookdale Apache Junction. The least I liked about the place was the age of the facility. They're well-maintained but they lacked all the modern kitchen equipment. You could tell they were dated, but they were very nice. The best thing about them is that it's about $1500 a month cheaper to live there than the other place I saw. It's still a very nice facility. The staff who gave me the tour were very good. I had a nice luncheon there, it's restaurant style. They don't have quite the sophisticated level of care that the other place I've chosen has. They have some nice amenities but they're somewhat limited in that aspect. They're a really good facility for a person who can't afford the very best, luckily. It'd still be very comfortable to live there.

We toured Brookdale Apache Junction, and we loved it. We loved the way it was laid out. You could either be in rooms or you could have little cottages, which was nice. You could get your meals there. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable on what she was showing us. The dining area was very nice. The rooms were roomy. You could get one or two bedrooms, and you had a little kitchenette. The atmosphere of the community was very nice. They had a list of activities. They had bingo, a library, and there were people putting puzzles together.

I went to Brookdale Apache Junction. I liked that one. They had a nice outdoor courtyard, and the rooms were nice. Everybody just seems nice. The place was nice and clean. It just seems very cheery. I talked to two people there, they're both nice.

We chose Brookdale Apache Junction for my mother because, for one, it's only four miles away from my home. We already paid our deposit, we have the room, and we've taken furniture in. She's just not physically there yet. The room we have chosen was a ground-level floor, which is right around the corner from the laundry room and is right around the corner from the dining area. There are a lot of people that she's going to be able to communicate with there, and that's going to help her. She is going into their independent living. They showed us all of the activities and all the different rooms. It was just a nice tour, very well set up, and everyone there seemed to be happy and engaged in activities. It was just something where I wanted my mother to be. I have not tasted their food but it looked amazing. They made my mother a lemon pie, and it was very good. We toured on her birthday so they made her the pie. It was very clean and the layout was very nice. In the lobby, when you walk in, you can see straight into the dining room. It's a tri-level so there are 3 different levels but I like the idea that my mother will be on the ground floor. Everything there was clean, neat, and new.

Brookdale Apache Junction was very nice. The staff was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. They stay in the same room when the care changes over, which is nice. They have lots of stuff, lots of enrichment programs, shopping trips, excursions, and food.

I think the most impressive part about Brookdale Apache Junction was the community vibe. I could see people moving around, I saw group activities going on, I met employees introducing themselves to us during the tour, and there were lots of opportunities and spaces. They have places for people to be together and not be alone. They have a beautifully remodeled facility, the staff is trained to do many things to help the residents, and you can age in place if you need more assistance. It was laid out in order to facilitate community bonding.

Brookdale Apache Junction was at the top of my list. They showed me around while I asked some questions and they were able to answer. It was a good experience. I've talked to them since and told them I'm gonna stay in my house. They said, "Can we stay in touch with you?" and I said sure; as long as it's not every week. I liked their casitas. They have individual housing there with a one-car garage. Their facility was over 1200 sq. ft. but I also liked their two-bedroom units, The surroundings are fine. It was certainly sufficient and I was happy with it. I saw the dining facilities. It looked more than adequate and people were in there, eating.

The Brookdale Apache Junction was great. It was a nice place, the rooms were about the same as the others, they were real nice. They were clean and with plenty of room. The staff was excellent. They required you to wear masks. I wore a mask.

I think Brookdale Apache Junction was a nice place. They were fixing it up, refurbishing it, but it was too far east, and I wanted to be more in the Mesa area. The visit there was very good, and the food was good. One thing I liked was they had cottages, but they did not have one available at that time. They should build bigger rooms.

I really like Brookdale Apache Junction, it was very nice and the staff was very polite. They had a sign that said welcome, they took us around and introduced us to the people that were around, then they showed us the buildings. I like the rooms, the sizes were quite nice and they're very clean. They had a nice dining area, they didn't have anything out or offer any of the food while I was there. The residents were doing exercise classes at the time, they also had swimming, they had a central area where people could come and gather. I like the fact that they had a room for your family that's available to use, like if you want to have a party.

Brookdale Apache Junction was all very nice. Their rooms were smaller than I expected, but it's the same as the other places I saw. The person who assisted me during the tour was very polite and cooperative. We weren't there during a meal time but we saw the dining area. It seems like the residents were having fun, there was an activity going on.

I put my mother in Brookdale Apache Junction, and she likes it. It's excellent. The rooms and staff are excellent. The layout is very good. They have a swimming pool, library, TV room, pool room, nurses on staff and just about anything you can think of.

Brookdale Apache Junction was very nice. The grounds were beautiful. The lobby was outstanding. The location is out in an area that is just starting to build up, so you have a nice view of the land. I was very impressed with the location. The staff was very nice too. The rooms were very nice. However, the fellow commented that none of the rooms had dishwashers.

If you are an "able bodied person" Brookdale is an excellent place. But once you need special assistance, Brookdale begins to slide downhill. It hits rock bottom when you use their hospice/end-of-life care. The hospice coordinator, hospice nurse and hospice social worker are excellent. It's the other staff/assistants that fall down, e.g. breakfast is delivered between 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Next, if you are using extended care insurance, Brookdale has a very hard time submitting a correct bill to the insurance company. Today is November 16, 2017. We are still trying to get Brookdale to send a bill dating back to June 2017. They promise a lot but they don't follow through.

Brookdale has plenty of activities for my mom. When I was there, people were up, active, and there were lots to do. The staff was wonderful. However, it was a lot of desert and a garden type area would be better for my mom.

We’re in Brookdale Apache Junction now. So far, I don’t like it. They don’t listen to the people. We don't get health care whatsoever, and the cost is getting prohibitive. They have activities, but when we go out on the bus, they charge us for the aide that goes with them. They want us to pay for the Christmas gifts, and I don’t like that. We don’t like their menus. The chef says that if we don’t like the food, we don’t have to eat it. I’m paying his wages, and I don’t like that. We have a housekeeper once a week who comes in and cleans our room, which is good.

We toured Brookdale Apache Junction. It was very clean, very nice, and nicely furnished. The staff seemed to be friendly, and the people were happy. It was a nice place, but I was not ready for that yet. They were having lunch and there were groups playing cards and checkers. We were there for such a short time, but the staff seemed to be happy, friendly, and enjoying their jobs.

My visit to Brookdale was good, and the staff accommodated me very well. I liked the facilities and rooms, but the buy-in was expensive. I liked that they have a salon and that you can eat meals at different times.

I chose Brookdale Apache Junction for my friend because of its location and it met all of the requirements I was looking for in an assisted living facility, like taking care of her medical needs, providing her with three meals a day, and having a nice bedroom.

My sister-in-law has been happy with Brookdale Apache Junction so far. We chose it because it's very nice and has a very friendly atmosphere. The staff was very nice. The facility itself, the surroundings, and the rooms were all very nice. They have movies, do outings, and people come in to sing for the residents. The food is great, too. They have a nice salad bar and a nice breakfast bar on Sunday mornings. This facility is doing an outstanding job in caring for their residents.

Brookdale Apache Junction was very nice. It has both independent and assisted living and full amenities. It was very nice but out of my price range. The staff was fine. Their rooms were nice, though not really spacious, but they were nicely furnished. They looked good.

I liked the restaurant meals at Horizon Bay. They had a regular restaurant, and you would go there three times a day, you order and eat what you want. I spent two years with them, and the staff was pretty knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms, the dining area, and the grounds are excellent. The neighborhood was fine and very quiet. They had activities like therapy and exercise. Once a week, we had a cocktail hour with a few beers and entertainment. They had a lot of good stuff there. It was a great place.

The one that we found was Brookdale Apache Junction. It was for both of my parents, but my dad just recently passed away. The rooms are very nice, very roomy, and just right for one or two people. I have eaten there, and the food was delicious. The dining room is really nice; everything about the place is great. I just love it, and -- most importantly -- my mom loves it. They go on tours, and they have Bingo, exercise, movies, and what they call their Happy Hour on Fridays. They have guests that come and do readings and play music. It is just every day they have something. The people who work there are great, and the facility itself is really open and friendly. To me, the others that we looked at were more like big fancy motels or hotels, and when you walk in, it is really open, and you don't feel like you are walking down a big hall like you would in a hotel and just see rooms here and there. It is just really open, and it is gorgeous.

The place is very well set up, provides three day meals with the time for lunch and dinner any time between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. There is a swimming pool, workout room, library, TV room and a meeting center. They will provide transportation if needed, or you can keep your car there. The building has three floors and an elevator.

Brookdale Apache is clean, friendly, very helpful, and informative with great people. My mother-in-law has been there quite a while, and we have gotten to know all the staff; they are really, really good. She has a private room that is spacious, and it has got its own capability for cooking if you want to. She's got a refrigerator, a living room, and her private bedroom. The food is awesome. We have breakfast with her every Sunday, and then we have family get-togethers there quite a bit. I would definitely recommend this place to other people. The nursing staff and everything is great, and the maintenance on this place is immaculate. They have hospice available for in-house, which is great.

My mom and her husband moved to Horizon Bay because it is near their home. It is a very nice facility. People are great, and she participates in the activities. She has gone on a couple of outings with them. Of course, we are relieved that she has a place to be now and people around. When I visited there, they were playing some games in the lobby area. They have an international dinner, or a themed dinner. I have eaten there a few times. The food is good; it varies and seems to be portioned well. I think the apartment that she is in is probably a good size for her. However, shortly after they moved in, my mother's husband passed away. It is a really tough time for my mom, but I know she is satisfied there, and she's staying there for a little bit.

I loved Horizon Bay. But one of the reasons we went with another facility is because it was super expensive. When I visited, Dana, the lady that showed us around was awesome. Every place we looked at, she knew the answer. She was very nice. We saw a model room and then we also saw the room that my father would have got has he gone there. I thought the apartments were just fine. There's a small kitchen, a small living room, and a fairly good bed and bathroom. When we were there, they were playing bingo. I liked the interior. Everything is really pretty in there. They have a piano, a library, and a fireplace. The hallways, the carpeting, everything was bright. It looked really nice.

We really love Horizon Bay because the staff was very, very nice and they are a bit cheaper. I also like the way they treat the residents. They have activities like every Friday they have social hours. They said they also have outings. They have a computer lab and a library. I was not able to try the food, but it looked good and healthy.

I think that this plan to make a place like this is very very good. For a lot of reason. First they do everythink about you and you to be a happy there when you will be.The rooms/apartments are actually pretty cute. Nice, bright kitchens that are open. It's not like you feel squeezed into a little walkway between cupboards, they're rounded out and easy to move around in.

An old co-worker and good friend of my mother moved into this facility. Because Apache Junction is located directly east of Mesa, where I currently live, my mom wanted to visit. I was a bit on the fence about Horizon Bay for many different reasons. I didn't totally dislike the building, but it did remind me of a large State hospital, even though it's painted in your typical southern Arizona hue to compliment the landscape, something about it just reminded me of a hospital. When we first arrived there was a group of about six residents waiting for a van to take them on an outing, possibly shopping or something of that nature. It is anywhere between 105 and 113 degrees right now in southern Arizona and the residents were all sitting in the sun. It seemed to be taking a little while to board everyone. I understand that it takes time to get everyone but I wish they'd offered umbrella's or something. The inside seemed pleasant. We saw a few staff members and they all smiled and said hello. One young gal asked if we needed help and then showed us how to get to my mom's friends apartment. Because my mom's friend utilizes the independent living option, she informed us that she is provided with two meals per day, if she eats a third she incurs more charges. Assisted living residents are provided with three meals per day. I guess I can understand that too, but it seemed funny that she specifically pointed this out, as if it weren't quite fair. I did like the pool. A huge body of water surrounded by block fencing for privacy. I also liked the recreational areas and I especially liked the fact that you can have a one car garage. Not just an average assigned parking space, but a garage. Pretty cool feature. It seemed quieter than other facilities I've visited, as if a lot of residents just stay in their rooms. This could have to do a lot with the time of year too, as I said earlier, we visited in the early peak of summer. The rooms/apartments are actually pretty cute. Nice, bright kitchens that are open. It's not like you feel squeezed into a little walkway between cupboards, they're rounded out and easy to move around in. I liked too that pets are welcome. My mom has owned cats ever since I could remember and would probably be devastated if she couldn't bring ""Baby"" along with her. They do also offer the Livewell program, which I've read about before. That was a plus. I suppose all in all the facility in my opinion does deserve at least a 3.5-3.8 on a 5 scale, but little things bugged me, mainly the hospital feel and the quiet. Where were all the residents?

This is a beautiful, hotel-like facility. I think the resident is best served if they are still independent and not requiring help dressing, or going to the bathroom.
