I went to Village at Cook Springs in Pell City. They showed me their facility, and I filled out all the admissions papers. We chose the nursing home because we found out mom is not eligible for assisted living. They could not take me inside where the residents were living. They took me to a vacant room to show me the type of room she would be in, and they took me to the general seating area. The part that I observed was clean and neat. The administrator was very helpful, and the lady at the nursing home who administered Medicaid was very helpful. They were very nice to me. They had a library and a beauty salon.

Looking for a place for a loved one? If you love them, KEEP LOOKING. Unless you want your loved one to go without a bath for a week, have nurses HOLD your loved ones hand while they sign paperwork they can't even read themselves or be left in their bed 24 hours a day in a dark room with very little light. This place ALWAYS smells like pee. Rooms are small, nurses don't seem to care, unless the state is coming in checking on them. Wish I didn't have to give them the one star.
