I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

It was awful. My mom went into this facility 9/2020 and passed in 4/2021. My mom was in a run down private room. Interaction with the staff was poor due to Covid. They always had some kind of excuse. I put my mom here thinking she would be able to mingle with other residents. She had a terrible fall her 3rd day there. She never walked again. By November my mom had a bedsore. I found out about the sore in January through wound care. My mother was private pay until her Medicaid was approved 2 weeks before her death. I regret ever putting her in this place, she might still be with us today had I not.

This facility is very lacking in taking care of the residents. There are, of course, a few very caring workers. They are understaffed all the time and don’t have the ability to care for the residents as needed. Also expensive. However management of this facility is VERY POOR!! Their attitude toward family of residents is unacceptable and uncaring. They have no concern or professionalism. AND. You would think if a resident had been there 5 years, when they passed it would be a STANDARD procedure to send a sympathy card?? NO! That should be protocol to EVERYONE!!

I am/was a resident of this facility

Medication is not given as prescribed by the doctor. It's almost impossible to get to see the doctor or the nurse practitioner. Help!

Right now, my mom is at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab Center. She has been there for four months now. She started on the rehab side and then she ended up in the nursing home side. It's not a bad place, they just need to work on staffing. I've tried their food; it's not too good. Some days are better than others. Half of the staff are nice and half of them aren't. My mom is not participating in any activities, but they play bingo and stuff like that. It's pretty clean. It's too expensive though.

A very poor facility poorly managed with employees who don’t care. They let my mom lay in bed with pneumonia for over a week before we took her to the hospital where she later died of respiratory failure related to pneumonia! No interaction between staff and residents, still waiting almost 2 months later for a partial refund for the month my mother died!

I visited this facility

My mother was a resident at Arbor Springs for almost 2 years. The staff is very friendly and caring. I recommend this facility for anyone looking for a special place to care for someone needing care.

I visited this facility

My wife and I recently started looking for a nursing facility for my ailing mother. The thing I loved about Arbor Springs was its vicinity to the East Alabama Medical Clinic. This a top notch facility and such friendly and courteous staff. The facility is very clean and well kept, actually quite brand new to the Opelika area. We referred by a friend of the owner, Mr. Porter. One of my main concerns would be speech therapy for my mother and they specialize in this type of therapy thanks to the local university emphasis on speech pathology. I thank the staff for the tour visit and while we have yet to make a decision, Arbor Springs ranks up there towards the top for our choices.

I visited this facility

Arbor is located right next door to East Alabama Medical Center. So any medical problems that may arise, there is a safety net right next door. But on the other hand, they have had a number of fire alarm and automatic sprinkler deficiencies backing all the way from 2008. My client chose not to go here for that reason alone. However, the place is extremely pleasant though. Very comforting from the moment you walk in. I was pleased & would recommend others.
