My father was at The Landings of Northport. They were awesome and very caring. They have met all of our expectations. My father had a one-bedroom apartment, which was very nice and convenient. It was everything he needed. The staff was very nice, caring, and took very good care of my dad. My dad had no complaints about the food. The dining area was very nice and clean. They had activities, but my dad never really got into all that. They do a lot of outings in a small group and some community stuff. The amount we were paying for him to be there, the care he was getting, and the happiness he had were worth it.

Brookdale Northport has everything that my mother needs and they've been able to take care of anything I needed. Her apartment has a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchenette. You could also have a studio or a one-bedroom. They help her with her bath, they do their laundry, they pick up their trash, they do light housekeeping, and they have activities for them. They have a nice dining room, and they provide their medicine. They have a beauty salon, a laundry room, a computer room, a library, and a movie theater. It's very nice and clean.

Brookdale Northport was a nice place. We liked it, but there was no availability at the time. The staff was good. If a person wants to move in there, they had to bring their own furniture, but the studio apartment was set up nicely and the space seemed sufficient. It's a smaller facility, so there's a long waiting list, but it was one of the nicer ones that we saw.

The care that Brookdale Northport provides for my mother has been great. Her room is clean, and they have a lot of things for the residents although she doesn't participate. The staff members are very friendly, very outgoing and seem happy. The community seems well-maintained and very nice. In terms of amenities, my mom likes the hair salon there a lot. The place is very secure.

Brookdale Northport is nice and very clean, and it doesn't have any old folk's smell to it. Some of the staff members are better than others, and most of them are fairly knowledgeable. Some of the meals are sometimes fair and sometimes terrible. They should do a better job at making their menus, because so many times they are out of the items listed on the menu, and this is at the beginning of the meal.

We visited Brookdale, and we preferred it to others. The staff was extremely helpful, accommodating, and they made some suggestions on funding. The grounds were good, and with well-manicured green grass. There were a lot of residents who initiated activities, and that was something new to us.

I liked the idea that my wife can have what she needs at Brookdale Northport and that I can stay with her. They serve three meals every day. The staff was very friendly. I was very pleased with my experience there.

Brookdale Northport was very nice; that’s where I wanted my mother to go. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I wish they would give out paper towels and napkins and things like that, but they don’t. You have to purchase them all on your own. When I was there, the residents were very, very happy to be there and really wanted my mother to come and join them.

Great facility and great people. We visited 5 places and chose Brookdale because of the facility and staff.

My father is in Brookdale Place Northport. They are great. They have bingo, dominos, they cook brownies or cookies, they have people come in and sing, and on Sundays they have a preacher and a worship service on Monday morning. I was very impressed with the size of the rooms. They are very roomy and bigger than the other homes that we visited. They have different styles to pick from. Everything is really good -- the food and the layout. Everything is very colorful. The lady and the directors have been very nice. I'm very comfortable that he is not at home by himself wandering or going out.

I thought Brookdale Place Northport was pretty good. We talked to some of the residents and they seemed to like it. They have all kinds of activities and they also have functions because after I was over there, I got an email inviting me to a barbecue they were having. I was looking for my sister, because she was planning to come down here before she had a stroke. They had several types of rooms; they had one that was just like a single room and another with two rooms, and the price depends on how much space you've got, really. They have a room -- which is like a conference room -- that also had a couple of computers for the residents to use if they wanted to, and they have games.

Merrill Gardens is a perfect fit for my parents. It's 5 minutes from my house. The food's very good. I don't have any complaints about the staff. They're friendly and responsive when I have a problem. They also have very good nursing staff that responded to my dad's fall a couple of times. When something breaks, they get it fixed. They know who we are; even the people in the kitchen and the waitresses know my parents' names. My parents participate in many activities like playing bingo and attending church.
