My mom is at Country Cottage-Montgomery. She's in assisted living and they're a very caring community that looks out for their patients and their residents. The layout is conducive to the patients or the residents. It's all one level so it's easily accessible. One of the reasons we decided not to move her to some of the places we looked at was they are high-rises. That concerned us so we decided not to do that. We like the fact that she is on a one-level facility and it would be easily accessible to get them all out, should there be fire or any type of disaster where they would need to get residents out. With a lot of elderly people, it's hard to do that, especially if you've got stairs and things like that. So that was another one of the benefits in Cottage. All the staff was very friendly. My mom's been there for about 4 years and she's got some that she considers like she has adopted some of them. They are very friendly and she considers them like another one of her daughters, so to speak, that she mothers them and they look after her. It's hard so we decided not to continue looking anywhere else because she's very happy there. One of the reasons why we were looking for another place is the food. They don't have a dietician on board so the food is not that great. Some days it's good and some days it's not, so we've complained about the food sometimes. I think that's what they're going to have to work on. I think we're not the only people that have complained about the food. The price could also be a little bit better. Everything's private pay and we're paying a little over $3000 a month, so it could be a little bit better.

The rooms at Country Cottage - Montgomery were a little bit small, but I understand why. The facility was nice. The common areas were very nice. We did a quick tour of the kitchen and dining area and that looked good. It was very accommodating for the people who were there. My tour was at an odd hour, so the nurse who was on duty gave us the tour and she showed us four different rooms, three of them being about the same size, just set up differently. The fourth one was a little bit larger. She answered any questions we had and told us a little bit about the facility and what they offered. She was pretty knowledgeable and I know she was a little bit rushed because she was the only staff on duty at the time. She did a wonderful job of taking us around and explaining things to us.

I toured The Country Cottage - Montgomery. It was very nice. They have memory care. It has a private bath and a private room. You furnish the rooms the way you want them. The kitchen area and all was nice. They took big steps so that the patients were well taken care of. They had almost three patients to one nurse, or sometimes it was more. The staff pitched right in, and they made you feel at home.

I toured Country Cottage - Montgomery. It was a private room. It was freshly painted, clean, bright, and a nice-sized room. The staff was wonderful. The chef was on the premises cooking the meals for the people. They had activities for the residents. They had a piano that people could go in and play for the entertainment of the residents. It was lovely.

I had a lovely tour at Country Cottage - Montgomery. It was assisted living, and it was just more care than my cousin needed. She would've been very unhappy there. The staff was lovely. The facility was spotless, and it had activities listed. I was there when something should have been happening, but nothing was happening. The room was lovely. It's a rectangle. They had put in new laminate floors, and it was clean and light. I would live in it.

Country Cottage - Montgomery was very restrictive. It is assisted living, but it's treated like memory care. The entire facility is sort of locked down. You have to have access codes to the buildings. The security is good. We liked the condition of the place. We did not like how restrictive the place felt, and its location was right next to many apartments. They had one closed building that they were reopening. I did not get to tour the other building where the residents were. The closed building was in very good condition because nobody was in there. The current director was very personable, and the rest of the staff was not personable.

When I visited the facility and met the providers they were absolutely fantastic and caring. The facility was clean and well kept. The rooms for the residents were very clean and spacious. The dining area was like a restaurant and got to meet the chef who was a very personable individual. I just liked everything about it.

Country Cottage in Montgomery was among the ones we liked best. It's just made up of a small group of people. The food is good and the staff is attentive and super friendly. Everybody tries to help at all times, and we visited the place twice. The size of the rooms were OK. it could probably be a little bit bigger, but everything is on one floor. Everything is accessible and the bathrooms are also really helpful. They have activities and outings that look interesting, and my dad is liking the idea since he can only go short distances.

Mom has moved in to Country Cottage Montgomery, and we like it very much. It was my first choice among all the places I checked out in Montgomery. We are pleased with the place, and we feel that it is as it was advertised to be. It seems to be going very well, and they had been good at setting up programs specifically for Mom, like with the physical therapy she needs and assessing her interests. We are optimistic that it will work out for the long term. They have a wide range of activities available which includes visiting other assisted living places around the country. It's like an exchange program within their chain for a week or so if they wish to. Mom likes the food there, even though she is a finicky eater.

We had already moved our mother-in-law in Country Cottage and she loves it. It really suited her. It was very comfortable and it had a country-home type setting, very clean and neat and the personnel there were just wonderful. It's a very homey, comfortable setting. The people and residents who lived there are very friendly and all just very happy and comfortable. Everybody raved about how happy they were in there. They had a lot of activities and a lot of happy people. The management was wonderful, very helpful and understanding. Another thing that we really liked about it is there were separate facilities in a community kind of atmosphere where the different stages of problems of the patients are grouped into different cottages. My mother-in-law has problems walking, but she's very alert, outgoing and sociable and the people that were in her cottage area were all in the same type of situation that she's in, so they're all very friendly, outgoing and are more mobile and they're all the same personality and situation that my mother-in-law is in. It was very neat the way it's set up so there isn't any patient that can't make friends, bond, communicate or get around with others and be left out. It's just like a big family. It's not the most elegant, there are much more exclusively-appointed, but were much more stiff, and just don't have that homey feel that my mother-in-law likes.

Country Cottage is excellent. They have memory cottages for people who have more extensive dementia over and above the assisted living basic level; that’s the level my mom would have been in. We have a friend there now, and I’m very pleased that they have a wonderful facility. Their director was very helpful to us, and we still hear from her from time to time.

I visited Country Cottage. It was very adequate and very well done. They're very hospitable. The apartments were very well laid out and nicely accommodated. However, I think Country Cottage was a little bit more industrial and a little bit less of a home feeling than the other one.
