We had a wonderful experience at Ashland Place Health & Rehab. They took very good care of my stepmom with a pleasant & positive attitude. The staff, including the administration were always willing to help me through this "journey" with my stepmom as this was my first experience with an aging parent. I can't thank them enough and will always be grateful for the care they gave mom especially in her last days here on earth. Her room and food was acceptable and mom never complained about either. Their PT, OT, and speech therapy dept. was excellent!

Went on a tour before my mother was admitted and I thought this would be a great place for rehab. everything seemed nice and clean. I was completely wrong. The management and administrators are lazy. My mom's room would be filthy. I would have to ask for trash bags to get the room cleaned. Whenever the staff came in to change her, they would leave a complete mess. The cafeteria staff should be fired. The food looked disgusting so we brought in food daily. The doctor was rude and even told me my mom's diagnosis in the hallway while other people were around which I am pretty sure it's against HIPAA. On the weekends you couldn't get in or out because they don't have anyone to open the doors. I spoke with Jeff (the director) about it and he flat out said he wasn't going to hire someone. His attitude is horrible. A nurse told me to knock on the window by a side door. My mom's care was awful. They are not organized. I would have to find people to help me. The lady over nursing is rude and she can care less about the patients and her staff. If you want to find management they sit in a conference room all day. You can hear patients screaming for help and they get it ignored. I pressed the call light and it took almost an hour for someone to come. I would end up changing my mom by myself. A CNA actually said she didn't have time. They didn't change sheets unless I requested. My mom's bed was so filthy. They would throw the dirty towels and sheets in the bathroom. We had to request the room get clean. I wish I could give a negative number because one star is too nice. Do not let anyone go near this place. We called the home office which is located in Tuscaloosa and never received a call back. Now I am going to call the state board. This place needs to be closed until they can get a brand new management staff and another doctor. Patient care is not a priority. The staff that didn't quit isn't a priority. Let's not forget the long term patient rooms looks like a jail cell.

The rooms are spacious. The rooms for the long term residents look like prison cells. The nursing staff is overloaded. One nurse has about 18 patients. The management team doesn't care. They are completely negligent when it comes to patient care. The doctor is rude and has absolutely NO BEDSIDE MANNERS. The food is HORRIBLE. Be prepared to bring in breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. My mom was there for 18 days and ended up worse than when she arrived. I met with management and they did not care at all. DO NOT TAKE YOUR loved ones to this place.

Absolutely lazy the workers are the residents are treated poorly, cockroaches in dressers! Leave their residents in the same clothing for weeks at a time in bed sheets that smell of piss and that are stained! This is pitiful imagine this being your own family member! Don’t work if you don’t do your job properly!!! They need proper care!

The facility is disgusting roaches everywhere. They refuse to bathe or take care of their residents. They allow them to go days without bathes or changing sheets soaked in urine. Shut this place down!

Ashland Place was a beautiful place, but they had no openings. It looked like it was in a very secure area. The place was beautiful, very immaculate, and very well maintained. The staff member who showed us around didn't spend a lot of time with us because she knew that we needed something immediately. Nevertheless, she was very business-like and professional. Ashland Place has everything. They have a big van where they take the residents to different places. They have a grand piano sitting out in the lobby, which is very nice. It is very sunny and bright with really pretty surroundings.

Rooms are adequate but bathrooms are not maintained/cleaned as should be. Something is usually not working and takes a while to get fixed. Some staff should not be in this type of field. Even if residents are always cooperative staff are being paid to care for them and should always maintain a good attitude and this seems difficult for some. Food is not the best and should be healthier choices.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Ashland Place. They took excellent care of my mother and were so kind, compassionate , and supportive for the 2 1/2 years that she lived there. My mother passed away peacefully and comfortable just as she had wished for . I am forever grateful for the wonderful staff that became like family.

Ashland Place Health and Rehab LLC was above average. They're very caring and very attentive. The staff was good. The dining area was fair. The food was average, but nothing special. They had good family rooms, very good physical therapy, recreational areas, game rooms for dominos, board games, and very good security.

Ashland is older, it has been here for a long time, and it is well-kept. My step father is currently there. The rooms are of fair size, but not big. I would recommend Ashland Place.
