My sister is at Allen Memorial Home. She has a private room. She does not have a bathroom, but she does have a place to wash your hands and a lavatory. She has a closet for her clothes. She's got a chest for her clothes. She has a TV. The room is very clean. In fact, the facility is very clean. It's an older facility. I don't know how old it is, but it's probably one of the oldest. It is very clean. The staff is very good and very concerned. My sister was difficult to begin with, because she was not on the right medication. However, if I had to go somewhere, I would go to Allen Memorial Home. In fact, my husband's two sisters were at Allen Memorial Home, and back then, it was just as good as it is now. They take very good care of their patients. They have activities. They have a beauty shop that my sister can go to on Mondays. I just really like it. They have a dining area, but my sister has food in her room. The food is good though. She is very satisfied with it. The staff that I met was great. I don't know what it costs because my sister is on Medicare and Medicaid.

I am looking into ways to have this place shutdown. Lack of care for residents. No showers, horrible food.

Allen Memorial Home is wonderful. We have been very pleased with them. The staff members are very caring, efficient, and on top of everything. My mother is just getting a lot of attention there. From the minute you walk in the door there are people asking, "Can I help you?" Allen Memorial Home is an older building, but it is very well maintained, and very clean. They have an attached garden. Their outdoor space is wonderful. They actually have a park that is attached to their place, which is really nice. There are 300- to 400-year-old oak trees going around the facility. It is a pretty place. The building itself is older, but they are renovating the whole area right now. They're excellent. They have lots of activities going on. They have football party and they have a spa day. Last night they had a big Christmas tree lighting. It looks like they're keeping them busy.

I went to Allen Memorial Home. It was inviting, but the only thing I didn't like about it was that the residents had to share a room with someone. They did have a few that were single rooms, but they were a premium; there was a waiting list for them. The nun that assisted me was very informative, and she answered all my questions. They had on their bulletin board their activities for the month. They had bingo, and they had gone into the butterfly garden. The dining area was kind of small.
