We enjoyed the tour of Brookdale Hampton Cove very much. We met with Jennifer, she was very knowledgeable and helped us walk through what is involved with memory care and the services that they provide. They were nice. They were very much in line with expectations. They seem to be very appropriate for the purpose that the memory care facility offers. It wasn't a five-star resort, but it's not supposed to be a five-star resort. But it was much nicer than the nursing homes of the 1960s. I thought they were very clean. The areas that we saw were very well kept up. We got to see a couple of rooms and they were very well taken care of. They were outfitted for the needs of the patients. We saw the dining area. It doubled as a meeting room, maybe an activity room, or a gathering room. And so it was very well outfitted to serve the purpose.

I liked that Brookdale Hampton Cove was small and everybody knew everybody. My aunt wanted something smaller so it's closest to what she is looking for. The staff was very professional. The room itself was a little on the smaller side, but I think we could make it work. It's fairly conveniently located and it seemed very clean.

The staff at Brookdale Hampton Cove was nice. They were informative, and I enjoyed their input on what they could do. They even gave me a few more resources to check out, which I plan on doing. They were very competent. Jennifer was quite knowledgeable about what memory care was all about. The families can come see the residents any time. I could take mom out if I need to or take her to appointments. They were just not set up to provide the type of care that my mom needed. The facility seemed clean and orderly. It seemed that the residents had a good outlook on their lives there. I did not see anybody yelling or anything like that. It was a comfortable place to live in.

I toured Brookdale Hampton Cove, which is strictly memory care. The physical appearance is kind of midrange. It's got some age to it. They are keeping it up, and the exterior surfaces are fine, but the interior needs a little bit of updating and renovations. The person who assisted me was knowledgeable at least from the business administrative side, but a little bit less knowledgeable than what they needed to do from the patient care side. As for activities, they had a group together that was doing some sort of exercises, and it was kind of snacks, social time, and exercising. They're one of the few communities that had available what essentially is a one-bedroom apartment that could accommodate a couple in memory care. That was one of the few places that I found that could take care of a couple coming in without having to do some sort of jerry-rigging of events. Most places for memory care want to only deal with the solo person.

Brookdale Hampton Cove was very nice. We would like to go there, but they don't take skilled care. If we were still just in memory care, we would go there. We went there twice. Everything was very nice. The people seemed happy there. The people that talked to us were very good. If we could go someplace and not have to have skilled care, that's where we'd go, but my husband needs more. You have to be able to do certain things for yourself. They have an outside place for the people that live there. that's pleasant. It's an older building, but it's in a good location.

Brookdale Hampton Cove was very comfortable in terms of welcoming. There was a lot of activities among the residents, so it just seemed to be kind of a vibrant place that I think would have been a really good fit for my husband. The sales representative was just amazing. She has called back a few times to check on me and my husband. She has just been extremely accommodating, so I highly recommend Brookdale. The day that I dropped in, they had a seating area where they were playing balloon volleyball, and there was another group that was over in a dining area that were getting ready to play bingo. At this given time, there were at least a couple of different activities that were going on that the residents could participate. The rooms are private rooms with plenty of room for a double bed, an easy chair, and a place for the TV. It would have been quite comfortable for my husband.

My tour experience with Brookdale Hampton Cove was very good. The person that met me there was very knowledgeable, very thorough, and friendly. We spent about over an hour there, we had lots of questions that were answered, and they offered a lot of help. The facilities were very nice, very clean, and overall, I was very impressed. They got a room with a bathroom and it's very clean, but you do have to provide the furnishings for it. I was very impressed with how it was run and everything. They have a great courtyard where people can meet and sit in, and then they have a calendar where it shows the activities they have every day. They do a lot of exercises, a lot of musical stuff, crafts, and a big array of things for the residents to do.

We visited Brookdale Hampton Cove in person, and it went very well. Everything was great! They gave us the full tour of everything, and I was very impressed. The facility was very organized and very clean. Security was more than satisfactory.

Beware: We had toured and we were all set to move my mom in but unfortunately the night before the contract move in date of Sunday Nov. 30 2014, my mom was found on the floor of the facility where she was living. This resulted in a hospital stay of a week and now she was not a candidate to live in Clare Bridge since she needed more care and rehab. We had signed this contract out of convenience on Sat. Nov. 29 and called Clare Bridge from the hospital on Sunday Nov. 30 telling them that my mom would no longer be able to come to their facility. We were hoping that the contract would just be annulled since my mom never came to the facility. Of course this is not the case. We had paid first month and community fee but now were explained that we would be out 7 days of our money. Real nice-they made around $786 of our money even though my mom had never stepped foot in their facility. This now gets worse since after repeated phone calls, that are never answered, we finally get only part of our refund late in January almost 2 months from when we paid. More phone calls again to try to get the other part of the refund. Finally after much stress and hassle, we received the rest of the refund in April-just short of 5 months to get our refund and with no apology or anything. We are still out $786 so I warn anyone that you do not want to deal with this facility-they have a big communication problem and I feel that they took advantage of our misfortunate with my mom's declining health.

Clare Bridge is a well-kept and clean facility in a nice area of Hampton Cove. It is convenient to Huntsville, without dealing with all of the traffic and pollution of the city. The staff members were very friendly, and the clients seemed to be very happy with where they were staying... which is what matters the most. I highly recommend this facility.
