I toured Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It was an enjoyable walkthrough view. The staff member was very pleasant and she accommodated me with the tour. It was like an average nursing home. Nothing to gleam about. They had both private and shared rooms. They showed me an occupied room. It was an older type of facility. It was kind of dark and gloomy. The staff was great though.

Rooms are not clean, especially bathrooms. Food is bad. The worst thing is the administration. Lied to us repeatedly and constantly changed her story. Never experienced such unprofessionalism. Pathetic behavior from people that are supposed to be caregivers.

I will say the good things first: speech therapists helped my mom so much; OT were very good; PT was satisfactory.. and saying that I got a lecture on he following from them: that they do not assist the residents to the bathroom plus how they risk their lives during covid… Really a person needs to be able to assist themselves in this rehab facility. Also, very nice comfortable rooms- with the exception that they were not cleaned the entire time we were there for over 3 weeks. Black nasty stuff in the towel when I would wipe up the floor in the bathroom. Mo telling what on that carpet! I cleaned the bathroom myself for my mom and also changed the sheets when I could get clean linens from the staff… they said they didn’t have clean linens most of the time. Brought in our own towels..so plan on providing linens. Nursing staff was decent.. had to find them outside a lot. But would accommodate when I asked. My mom was recovering from a stroke and needed much assistance; as I said this isn’t the place to go if you need assistance. If you have a knee repair maybe a decent place; and if you can voice your own needs. No baths- think she had 3 given by them… I asked daily and just finally did them for her. Food was okay; my mom was on an altered diet… strange what they supplied for a mechanical soft diet… fried chicken? Just glad they did pass trays. Just be prepared to check on your loved one frequently. They might forget they are in there if it wasn’t for the therapy team. Several med errors.. found her pills in the bed. They admitted two med errors to me. Moved her twice and didn’t let me know. Had to hunt her room… and once they had to hunt.. we forgot they said???No names on the doors to identify. oh… the office is the worse. Rudest folks I have ever dealt with… They sent me a bill the day before the planned discharge for 2 months in advance.. so rude when I called to tell them about the discharge being planned . Screamed “nobody told me! “ and when I took my check in they argued about giving me a receipt… Just the tip of the ice berg… I made a horrible decision choosing this place for my mom to recover and I apologize to her daily for it!

The employees in the business offices are rude and uninformative. The one named Sue screams and threatens. I'm so sad that I tried to place my loved one there. I can't believe this place is able to stay in business.

I was a patient with Florence Rehab for a month recovering from a fractured hip and I was SO impressed with the quality of care and compassion from the nursing staff, therapy team and the general warm caring attitude of everyone. If I have to go back, I will most certainly chose Florence Rehab again. It rates 5 stars to me for cleanliness, caring, patience and overall a good experience. Thank you with all my heart. Pam L.

I have been a patient for wound care and physical therapy 2 times and am scheduled for a hip replacement and will be there a 3rd time to recover and get intense physical therapy. I would refuse surgery until a bed is available at The Suites because everything is top notch. They go out of the way to accommodate my needs and they keep you busy and comfortable and off of the pity pot. The place is spotless and the food is great. I love the activities because it improves my disposition when I get depressed with health issues. I refuse to go elsewhere.

My father is in Florence Nursing and Rehab Center. They've just notified us that they will be reopening for visits, in the same room, with the same standard precautions, the social distancing and masks, and screening it a little bit. They are offering family visits. I know they've been good to dad. When anything changes they call, they keep you informed of what's going on, and we've had no problems.

My mom was there from 2012-2020. She was treated with such kindness and care the entire time. Toward the end of her life, she was moved in with a roommate, and while the room was a bit small, her care continued to be just what she needed. The staff was pleasant and professional. I’m grateful to everyone there.

Rooms did not feel very home like and were almost nasty. There is also not nearly enough staff on duty at any given time. The wait time for a patient to see a nurse after clicking their call buttons was between 15-30 minutes. My grandmother needed assistance using the restroom and was forced to hold iher bladder that long until someone would see her. My grandmother even told me she was scared at one point. Not a place she will ever go again.

My Mother Was in This Facility for 18 months before she passed away. She was 87. She was well taken care of and the staff was always there to help her and us. Food was good, activities were plenty and had a scenic view. It was clean and had holiday parties. My wife's mom just suffered a cracked femur and she is 84. This is the facility we will use. They are compassionate and caring.

My great aunt lived in this facility for three years before she passed away this winter. When I went to visit, the place felt like a mix between a hospital and a school. It did not seem very home-like at all. The nurses seemed friendly, but there were not enough of them to take very good care of the residents. The rooms were subpar. There were small televisions for each resident, but they were very small and probably not the best for older residents. I felt like the place was not worth what we were paying for it, as it was very expensive. I would suggest that they install larger televisions in the rooms so that the residents that could not get out of bed could at least enjoy televisions programs in the comfort of their rooms. Overall, it was not a bad nursing home, but it was not as high quality as I expected.

I cannot say enough good things about this facility. My Mother was a resident here and received respite care for almost two months before she passed away. Those assigned to her care were compassionate, caring, and prompt in making sure her needs were met. The Physical Therapy staff was AMAZING, coming in even after it was known that she couldn't assist/complete the PT tasks - they were coming to check on her and her well-being, as well as the family's well being. Administrators, nurses, doctors - everyone at this facility put the care of their residents first. When it was known that she was in her last days on Earth, the staff went above and beyond by providing accommodations for the family to stay with her overnight - bringing in pillows, sheets, and even a couple of roll away beds. I cannot say enough good things about this facility.
