My parents moved into Columbia Cottage - Florence. The staff is very attentive to them, and they help them as they said they would. They are very nice and very patient, and I have no worries about my parents being there because of the staff and the faculty. They've been giving me all kinds of support, helping me to get them in there, and they're very understanding about my concerns. The food is a little more bland than what I like, I like a little bit more spicy food, but they're for elderly people so I understand that. They have special days, that they have like a fish day. And in the south, catfish is the thing. So they all enjoyed the catfish day, especially my parents. In the mornings they have a big breakfast and a lot of variety, and then lunch is a big meal, and then the evening meal, which is lighter around 5:00 or so. They've been renovating. They're putting down a lot of good floors, and now the rooms, and the little kitchenette that they provide for them, and they're upgrading their bathrooms. It's just a process. But right now what my parents have is very user-friendly for them. They have all the handicapped grab bars and all that stuff, and it helps them a lot having those in, so. It's a very homey environment, it's like being at a home, it does not look like a medical facility or anything like that. This past week they've had things like theme nights, like sixty nights, then they had seventies nights, and on Halloween, they're going to have trick or treat so that the elderly people at the center can give out candy to the kids in the parking lot. They have activities all the time that they can do. They even have a little exercise class, and they also have a physical therapist that can come in and help if they need it. They have a beauty shop where they have someone come in and cut their hair, and they have someone come by who does their nails and pedicures. It's a very functional place. It's very reasonably priced for the services you receive. I recommend this place to anybody.

Having my mother in Columbia Cottage Florence has so far been so good. It's really nice. They've got a front porch, and they tell me that they can do a Facetime visit with the doctor. This has only been an online visit, but I was really impressed with what I saw. We got my mom moved in and everything and we're going to have a porch visit with her later. But there was a COVID scare, so we had to put it off for a while. The place was clean from what I could see.

I really liked everything about Columbia Cottage. However, most of the rooms had a big, open floor plan, and I would like a separate bedroom. Other than that, everything impressed me. There's a book club, Bible study, a couple of church services, and exercise.

Columbia Cottage was attractive, clean, well kept, and well managed. People were pleasant. I was pleased. They had several people sitting in the game room area playing cards. They're doing a pretty good job from what I could see. I saw two rooms, one representing each style, of corner units versus the in-between units that were good and not huge, but they were adequate for a single person. They could build a larger facility with more space and more luxury in it, but the place was nice.

Columbia Cottage was very home like. They have nice and friendly staff. It was a convenient choice because it is really nice. I was impressed with it. The attendant answered my questions. I don't live in the town where it is so I wouldn't know what else is up there. But the rooms are really nice and well attended. There's lot of nice facilities that were in there. It is well staffed. The parking is easy, and it's very accessible for folks to get in. It is very cheerful, very pleasant, and very clean. The communication has always been good. It's been very pleasant, and I highly recommend it.

The assisted living home at Columbia Cottage in Florence Alabama is likely one of the best of which I have had the pleasure of going to. I live near the home and spend much of my time volunteering with the residents that live there. The staff is simply amazing; they attend to the every need of the residents. They are congenial and very on top of things there. One thing that really impressed me was the fact that the staff truly cared for each and every one of the residents that could be found there. They are capable of making the process of moving to the Columbia Cottage very painless for both the family, and the new resident. I have seen this first hand. They also have up to date medical equipment so that they can care for the patients in the best way possible. So the staff, service, and residents at Columbia Cottage are simply great.

I have spent over 75 volunteer hours at Columbia Cottage. This included helping any of the residents in any of their daily activities, cleaning, caring for the residents, bringing food, etc. Columbia Cottage I felt was a very nice facility for assisted living. It is very spacious and has a great feeling of a home about it. It does not seem like you are in a hospital or enclosed space. The staff there was great. Everyone that I was in contact with while I was volunteering there were great. The organization of how everything ran was very good. The food and the dining area could have used improvement, that is why I only gave this a four star review. It is nice, but seems more like a place where people come in and sit and have to leave. It doesn't have the feel of a nice sit down place to eat. All in all Columbia Cottage is a wonderful assisted living facility in my personal opinion.
