My Mother was a resident in the memory care unit for almost a year. The day I visited with Sheila and Vicki and they explained everything about the facility and we toured I knew this was the place my Mother needed to be. Vicki answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. The facility and grounds were clean and beautiful. From the very first day of moving my Mother in to her nice room everybody from the front desk to inside the memory unit was wonderful to her. Gerri, nursing director, and Summer, nursing supervisor, always made sure Mother was well taken care of. Mother has dementia so she wasn’t always easy to deal with but everybody on every shift was very attentive to her needs. We feel blessed for her stay at The Terrance at Grove Park.

I toured The Terrace at Grove Park. What I liked least was their financial system. They are too tight on who they will accept. Somebody may have a poor credit history, but it's because of problems beyond their control. Those issues are not taken into consideration. As far as their facility goes, it looks great. If you can truly afford it and meet their requirements, it is a place to go. They do not have a pool and that is a stumbling block for me because I love swimming. That's gonna dictate pretty much who I select.

My mother will be moving into The Terrace at Grove Park. We talked to the marketing person there and set up an interview and a tour. At the time we toured it, they had a single room available and they had a suite of three rooms available. We saw both and it was very nice. Everybody in the facility spoke to us. Even the residents spoke to us and said how much they enjoyed living there. The facilities all looked clean. The people that cleaned the rooms and checked on those were very nice. Everybody spoke and everybody was friendly. The place was clean. There was an activity room and there were people in there doing activities. The residents stopped and spoke to us when we went in there. I had just a very good feeling. The outside was very nice. The flowers and the ferns and stuff looked nice outside. The grounds were well kept. We just got a very, very positive impression going there. It was already rated well anyway. I've spoken with the facility director because the marketing lady was out on vacation when we were supposed to do the tour. The business lady took us on the tour the first time we went and then the marketing lady was back the second time we went. I spoke to the business manager, the marketing manager, the director of the facility, and the nursing director. The nursing director spoke to my stepmother to see the level of care that she would need and to see if she qualified there. That was a very positive experience. The nursing director called me back immediately after the interview and informed me of her opinions of my stepmother and her condition and whether or not she would fit in. She made it very clear that her purpose was to try to determine what was best for my stepmother, not necessarily to come there. If that wasn't the best thing, that if it was more appropriate for her to be at her home with homecare, then that was her job to suggest that, and she told me that she said she could be at either place. If she wanted to come there, she would be a good fit, but if she wanted to stay at home with 24-hour care, that would have worked as well. It was up to us and my stepmother to decide what was really best for her. I didn't feel like it was a sales pitch or anything. They just showed us what was available and showed us what our options were. We were very pleased with it. I didn't see any negatives. The nursing director said my stepmother will need the lowest level of care, but she does not need memory care because she's not there yet. She is assisted living with the lowest level. They're going to come by and be sure she's taking her medicine every morning and every night. She can leave the room and go anywhere she wants to. She can go out for a walk if she wants to. The staff that we have worked with in preadmission has been very good. We haven't signed a contract yet. My sister went by to leave a mattress in the room that my stepmother's gonna get, and they wouldn't let her do that because they said we haven't signed the contract yet. The receptionist had said it would be OK to drop them off, but she didn't realize we hadn't signed the contract yet. There was just a little confusion there, but the marketing director called me back to be sure that they're so sorry that there was a mix-up. They were quick to try to deal with the issue because of some misunderstanding and all is good. It's convenient to get to places. There are doors outside for residents that wanted to go outside. Several different halls are radiating out from the main facility.

Fantastic!! Our family is so thrilled with the the Terrace! We visited other area assisted living communities. No one was as friendly from the first greeter to the receptionist, to Miss Vicki, to the nurses, the janitors, kitchen staff, all of the residents we visited with said how much they loved it, no complaints!! Everyone was happy and loving and fun. Miss Vicki was amazing, she helped us through every step, never made us feel like a bother. She and everyone there made us all family family right away. We felt so welcome I can’t express this enough. Miss Vicki did everything she could to put our hearts and minds at ease with this big decision to move my grandmother here. Vicki went above and beyond as did everyone.. Miss Gerri, the nurse was attentive and helpful. Brandon and Tommy the young men that help with so much from assisting my grandmother with our vehicle to hanging curtains were great. Lakeria, not sure her title but she’s so sweet amd friendly... let me just tell y’all, we have had a bad experience in another state and paid more money. Everything about the people here will help your heart feel at ease with this transition. This was one of the most difficult decisions for us to make. If you are struggling with care for your loved ones amd want them to feel at home and safe happy and thriving this is the place to be! Oh! And another thing you may not consider when you are shopping is the food.. this is good southern cooking! You’ll wish you could eat every meal with your loved ones just for the home cooking, not to mention the company. The grounds are hea! They have fun activities and a beautiful front porch for afternoon sittin! If you want the next best thing to home, this is it!

We visited The Terrace at Grove Park. They have different apartments rather than a dorm room. It's a transitional type assisted living community, and it's next to an upscale residential neighborhood. It's located away from commerce and near a quiet wooded area. It's a very nice setting.

I visited this wonderful community today. The staff here are very helpful and caring. The lunch was absolutely delicious. They had strawberry salad, roast pork\gravy, dressing, cabbage, sweet carrots, roll and pie for dessert. You can feel the compassion in the atmosphere here. I enjoyed my visit.

We have chosen The Terrace, but we haven’t moved in yet. It’s very near the hospital, close to a big grocery store. Everything would be right about us. They have exercise rooms with exercise machines, gatherings, and speakers.

The overall physical quality of the independent cottages is excellent. Very large rooms, excellent maintenance staff. The food is good although the quality has decreased since the community was sold recently. We shall see if other services suffer from the sale. The landscaping is nice. The community though is quiet. Civic clubs meet there, I believe, but otherwise, there is little interaction between independent living residents. The social director for the center does a poor job of scheduling activities to encourage socializing between residents other than a holiday social occasionally. Residents who have requested different activities are ignored. The social director holds a weekly poker night where she participates. This is highly unethical in my view. The exercise offerings are limited.

I found The Terrace to be the best one within the Wiregrass Area. The staff is wonderful. Residents are happy and active. I highly recommend it.
