If it wasn't for having a personal care worker then he would be in assisted living. Some of them have not been good but the new people have been better. The person who is there now is excellent and the others are horrific.

My caregiver does her job and I can put my life in her hands. BrightStar's management needs to improve. They can return calls, they can let me know if caretakers are coming or not, and if they are not, they can tell me who is coming instead. They have poor management.

There have been some good things and some hiccups. They could find a way to communicate with the family to be more helpful. Things have gotten to where I'm not feeling comfortable. I am not hands-on, but I am for my dad, and now I feel like I'm in the dark with things. We've had our issues. The problems we're having are with having consistent care in the home for my father.

The nurse is fantastic, but the home health aide is drunk. The woman that came to clean didn't show up for 3 weeks, and when she did, she was drunk. The other lady who comes is really good.

The one I have now is a keeper. Her work ethic is excellent. I was in healthcare for over 30 years, so I know what needs to be done. Her care and empathy are excellent, and she is right on target. The girls I have have been very excellent. They do everything in their power to be professional.

The fact that it freed up family members was good. We didn't have to have someone there around the clock and didn't need one of us there overnight. It was nice to know that he would receive care. They were able to provide caregivers immediately when we needed them. We had used them once prior, so we knew they were a good organization to go to. We had three or four caregivers, and they were just very kind and caring and delivered great care to my dad.

If they have good people coming in, the impact is wonderful. I have one that comes three days a week and she does a wonderful job. I don't have to tell her what to do every time she comes. She does the job she knows she is supposed to do. They need to make sure the caregivers they send are qualified. They need to make sure they have people here on the days they are supposed to be here. They don't have enough people and sometimes I don't get my services. I went four days last week without anyone showing up.

I don't have to worry about my parents taking their medicine and my mother's hygiene. My dad has dementia and I know he's getting his medicine done. With any kind of hygiene, I know it's being taken care of. I like the way they match my mother up with my caregiver. My relationship my mother has with them feels more like family now.

The services impact my daily life greatly just in providing information to me and taking some of the burden of off doing laundry and household cleaning. It also helps me in providing companionship for my mother-in-law. I just really like our provider and the gal that comes in to help take care of my mother-in-law. The gal that comes out is very outgoing, very knowledgeable, a hard worker, and very friendly.

They were able to take me places and help me with my mail. I had a caregiver that was excellent. When they took her away things went downhill. Their management is quite poor. I feel like they do not serve the disabled well enough. They may serve elderly well, but not disabled.

Sometimes they lack communications and I didn't have a caregiver one weekend and didn't know about it until they didn't show up. They are there just to sit with her and keep her company and help her up when she needs to.

The caregivers from BrightStar Care are providing companionship, bathing, and helping with Mom's medications and things. They are very nice. Mom is very comfortable with her caregivers. BrightStar Care is very dependable and reasonable.

I have a lady that works for me from BrightStar Care, and I really like her, but the agency in general I'm not very happy with. She is excellent, she does a great job, and she is always on time. Their management leaves a lot to be desired. The scheduling is a little messed up, but they bill real fast. The people they give me when she is off are not good people. They told me that they had a lot of people on the south side of Milwaukee, which is where I live, but I get people from the other side of town, and they're not the kind of people I wanted.
