I’ve been working with Signature for the past 7 months as a bedbound patient, and wow, are their services inconsistent! In the early months, I had several good providers — who quit because, they said, the company’s ever-changing policies made it so difficult to provide good care. Since the staff turnover is so high, there is no continuity of care: PTs and OTs just vanish. Because quality of care varies so much, it’s scary when a new staffer shows up. A new OT refused to follow my doctor’s orders. In doing something we weren’t supposed to do, she caused an injury that will set back my recovery by months. She never returned, but Signature would not communicate with my dictir about it. The next OT both tried to bully me into ignoring the injury (medically dangerous), then pressured my HCA to take over entirely as both PT and OT (which could make her lose her license.

Incompetent and inadequate care“ having them in your house is the worst thing (eventually a fatal mistake) you can do to your loved one majority of them never wash their hands. The SP took her mask off and spoke to the elderly patient face to face when she was alone in the room with the patient and it was caught on the security camera. One nurse suggested “cloth” under pad for patient daily use and I found out it was a hard plastic pad with cloth like plastic material on top. It undermined my high quality mattress and caused skin problem immediately. One LPN gave me a dry thick paste and told me it Is very good for tender skin. I didn’t know it was a drying agent for the skin or I will never use it. The PTs could barely move the patient and put a lot of rubbing on the skin against the bed and hardwood transfer board. Consequently the patient’s skin was ripped off and took more than two weeks to heal because it was misdiagnosed by a panic doctor. Sadly, that was the substandard heath care we received. the first RN abandoned us, the second RN canceled our service on her first visit but she reported it as we initiated the service cancellation. After disappeared for two weeks, the LPN called randomly and said she would like to come. I had to tell her the new RN had canceled our service and she would need a new authorization to start the service. But I never got anything back from her. She also refused to help with the skin issue caused by her thick dry paste. When I called the person in charge to voice my concerns. She told me that she will be happy to refer me to somewhere else before I was able to finish. Then she lied about the fact that she never listened to what I had to say and attacked my incomplete feedback/complaint as “derogatory”/“verbal harassment” to their staff. They changed Medicare $300 for no more than 30 minutes visit but they were doing business without satisfaction. Irresponsible and lacking of accountability has become our healthcare crisis. It was so easy for them to lie or make things up in patient’s chart. Watch out every one!

I received very complete and good care after my husband died and I was in a skilled nursing facility, where I broke my arm; requiring surgery and fixation. I was unable to return to my home because I was a fall risk. I had services of Signature Home Health out of Bellevue, WA and can only compliment them on their visits and treatment I received. I saw a nurse several times, as well as MSW, PT, OT and bath aide. There may have been others. They always set the appointment and called before coming. I would recommend Signature Home Health to others needing care. The interactions with the caregivers was positive except for a possible personality conflict with one, which was resolved. Thank you for the care I received,

Incompetent is the term I have to use. My wife (the patient) had a visit by a PT and an OT, and enjoyed working with both of them. Also both of them called me and filled me in on the visit and made reasonable suggestions about things that could be done to improve our setup. (I had been at work but there is a licensed care giver with my wife when I am not there.) When the Speech Therapist (Rita) visited, she had my wife crying hysterically by telling her she needed to go back into a nursing facility. Rita denied saying this to me but the next day Signature had a Care Conference and made the decision to stop caring for my wife saying she needed to go back to a nursing facility. They didn't even bother to tell me about this decision! They didn't get any input from me. They did not talk to the nursing facility my wife had just come out of. They just called and told our Primary Care they were stopping treatment. A patient's mental state is very important to the recovery process but Signature decided to completely ignore that and made a decision without all of the relevant information. My wife was in a very bad state while in the facility and sending her back would be extremely depressing to her. (The facility was fine, my wife just hated being away from home.) Speech (Rita) had left a list of a dozen things that I was doing wrong. Then talking on the phone, Rita went through that list again. "This is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong....". She made me feel pretty worthless as a husband trying to do my best caring for my wife. So while some of the interaction was fine, overall it was pretty bad.

The RN Kathleen from this agency was not caring, unprofessional and not supportive to the family.
