It is very helpful, I only have it once a week for 4 hours and I could use more, and we get along pretty good, and I appreciate what they do. They only come once a week, but most of the people have been pleasant and friendly and everybody has been helpful and good to get along with.

The personal aide has helped me so much with the things I need help with during the day. The PT and OT have been good at helping me get my strength back. The nurse has helped me with my wounds. They have all had a major impact on my day-to-day life. I like that everyone who has come has been personable, kind and seem to be able to work onto the schedule I have. It has been a seamless flow.

I have a very nice caregiver, and her experience and longevity in the field have helped me tremendously. I haven't been with them for too long, so I can't really say what they could do better at this point. The only little issue that I have is that sometimes on the weekends, trying to get someone out to help me is difficult, but they have been working on that.

My caregivers have helped me the most by keeping me from falling. I broke my neck because I fell. There's also things that I can't do, such as lifting heavy things, and they're there to help me. They need to have more communication within the office. If you call and leave a message, they need to make sure that it's gotten to the other person. Sometimes, they don't even pass on the message that you called. That needs to be improved.

It's poor in terms of me not getting consistent care. There's a great negative impact on me when I don't get care. My issue is not with the caregivers, it's with the agency in providing caregivers. The impact of not getting care when I am expecting it is a great impact in a negative way. Another concern is the low pay of the providers. Because they don't pay providers a decent salary, they continue to change from one job to another. They need to improve consistent care and availability of care providers.

Norma is a wonderful caregiver. She is able to pick up a biscuit at Hardee's in the morning to check up on my mom. They have given us one amazing caregiver and we have her on Tuesdays and Thursdays. When we try to get her for other days, they aren't available to give us her.

My sister definitely needs the help. It's a weird situation. The care that she mostly needs is personal care. I don't really expect the aides to do any kind of housekeeping. For example, if I have to go somewhere, and I need them to fold clothes or have the bathroom restocked with towels, part of that is therapy for her because she is responsible for folding hand towels. For things like that, that is also for her because of the OT aspect of it. They are not responsible for much other than taking care of her, keeping her comfortable, safe, and as happy she can be happy. I think everybody that comes here provides great care. A couple of people sigh a little bit when they have to get her up for the 3rd time in the last hour, but I do that myself. Most of them are very attentive and very in tune to where supplies are. They don't have to keep asking me. They know where that stuff is stored, and can get it themselves. Now I am able to get her out of the house to outpatient PT and I couldn't do that unless I had someone here to help me She can sleep in her bed at night and I know as she ha to get up in the middle of the night, there is someone right there to help her get up, take her to the bathroom, and help her get back to bed. Part of our issue is we have contracted for 24 a day coverage. I think in the past 10 days, I have probably covered all or part of the shifts myself. I have covered total shifts or part of a shift half those days. There's a lot of people not showing up. Every once in a while we miss somebody because we live way out in the country, but lately for some reason it seems like we're missing a lot. The quality of care itself is good. There have been a few people that we haven't been satisfied with their work. I have explained that to the agency and asked not to have them back. Some caregivers are really good as far as their attentiveness and learning quickly what she needs and where supplies are. We have been contracting for 24 hours and a lot of times we don't get 24 hours.

I once had a caregiver who just slept through her shift on my recliner. I had the name and date of who I spoke with too. I never had a consistent caregiver, and my daughter's care is very specialized, so I would have to take off of work to train these people.
