HOET provided home care hospice services for my husband. From the initial admissions appointment, throughout the almost eight weeks until he passed, they were very supportive, compassionate and respectful. Every person assigned to his care team were amazing. The information provided of what to anticipate with their contact information. Helped me as his caregiver with relative resources to help me adjust to this overwhelming and challenging situation. The entire internal process, delivery of medical equipment and supplies and consistent communication never appeared as a job, task or protocol. It was a sincere demonstration of kindness and compassion while providing the best quality of care throughout a difficult journey of the end of a person’s life. My husband commented many times after the nurses or chaplain had been to visit, how thoughtful and comforting they were. Hospice of East Texas not only demonstrates best quality of services; they have the best heart and spirit that is such an amazing support system at this time in a person/family life. We both felt like they were taking care of him as if he was their brother, dad, grandfather. What an incredible experience and opportunity to those of us who need these services but even more importantly- the excellent objective and accomplishment to have come to fruition. This organization’s applied mission resulting in successful goal are the best of any healthcare provider organization I’ve ever experienced. I have been in healthcare over 25 years. Every person on my husband’s home care team were stellar. I can’t thank you all enough for all the care, support, calls, texts, encouragement and hugs.

Our 84 year old mother was admitted to this facility on Wednesday, March 14 and passed away on Saturday, March 24. All five of mother's children agree with me that the absolute best care was given her. This care was not limited to medical care, but the compassion and love shown our mother will never be forgotten. Our family is so very grateful that mother was able to spend the last days of her life on this earth with the most caring staff imaginable. Without reservation I can recommend this facility to anyone with a loved one needing Hospice care.

My mother, my sister, and my late husband all stayed at Hospice of East Texas, Inc. - Tyler. It was a fantastic hospice. The whole place was very homey. The patients were well cared for. The nurses and CNAs were doing a very good job. There's also a chaplain inside. The rooms were warm and comfortable. There's a place for the families to stay overnight with the patients until they're deceased. There were kitchens and a library, and the grounds were beautiful. There were roses growing outside the windows. There's a memorial garden that you can purchase with your family member's name. They're continually building more rooms, and they're making their patients feel very comfortable in their final days.

Hospice has been wonderful. There’s a huge burden that was relieved because they stepped in and took over. They been very good in meeting all our needs, they’re available to answer any our questions, and give feedback when we needed it.

In May of 1998, our 23-year-old son was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and given about two months to live. We immediately contacted Hospice of East Texas, Tyler, who made it possible for us to remain in our beautiful country home as a family unit and spend our last months together in our familiar and very peaceful, quiet country atmosphere. Hospite provided us in-home caregiver visits and excellent--superb--pain-management care and education. Our son's final two months were pleasant and comfortable; occasional pain breakthrough was also sufficiently handled; pain medication was expertly increased as needed, and whenever needed and enabled our son to continue conversing clearly and engaging in various activities, to enjoy his family and our family dog, a Golden Retriever who rarely left our son's side. We were educated not only on pain management, but also on any anxiety or feelings of oxygen starvation--for which there is, indeed, medication to mitigate that. We would not have known that without Hospice care. They provided virtually everything we needed; toward the end, a hospital bed, oxygen, leg pressure/massage equipment, and sufficient meds to keep our son comfortable and 100% free of pain, anxiety, or fear. We felt as though we had ministering angels given us through Hospice of East Texas, Tyler; they were a Godsend in every way. Our precious son's passing was calm, peaceful and a very spiritual, uplifting experience. Our lifetime of happy memories with our son, though his life was all too short, were preserved and enhanced by the gentle and tender passing that Hospice of East Texas helped us provide our dear and precious son. All these years later, we continue to remember those blessings given us through Hospice of East Texas, Tyler, for which we will be forever grateful.

Someplace is always on top of their care. I am a Paramedic and see a lot of improper care in nursing homes an assisted living. Every time we bring a patient to Hospice, they meet us in the room, speak with the family, and always find an answer. The care they give their patients is the same care they would give their own family. Homeplace is not just dedicated to Hospice care either. They provide respite care to many care givers who need a much needed vacation and also provide pain management care. The staff there definitely deserves a thumbs up and a generous pat on the back. I know where my family will go should we ever need their services.
