It has only been a cpl months we have had Home Instead. There has already been over 5x we have been left out to dry. What makes it even worse nobody calls to let us know we just find out after they time is missed. If we were not in such a bad situation I would fire this company and find somebody else right now. I am the son

My mother used Home Instead's services for four years, from January 2018 through her passing in December 2021. The secret to the success of Home Instead in our experience was two-fold: 1) the careful selection of a caregiver to match my mother's needs and personality, and 2) the ability to expand services as her needs grew. On the first point, Home Instead hit a grand slam in proposing a wonderful woman--B.B.--with a great sense of humor who developed a deep and caring relationship with my mother and indeed with my siblings and me. At first our mother argued that she didn't need any home support--so we convinced her to give the service a try for two four-hour shifts a week, so that if and when she did truly need this support she would have already established a relationship with a caregiver and a caregiver service. She agreed to give them a try, and it wasn't long before she saw that the BB's support was truly value-added, in terms not only of how well they got along, joking and appreciating each other's sense of humor, but also in terms of the home grooming tasks (cutting her nails, doing laundry), light housekeeping, and grocery shopping that BB provided, as well as driving her to appointments and just providing daily companionship. We soon increased the service to three days a week and finally to five days a week. We were so fortunate that BB served as her caregiver for four years, allowing my mother to live independently in her own home, protecting her from the risks of COVID and gradually increasing her level of support to meet my mother's growing needs. I can honestly give my highest recommendation to the Central Dallas Home Instead franchise. We are so grateful to them for the wonderful service they provided to my mother.

They were there in the home to help my in-laws during both of their illness. Would not have been able to stay in their home without the help of the great and caring caregivers.

Home Instead has cared for two of my family members. I was able to contact the agency at any time. They listened to my concerns and understood our needs. The caregivers were well trained, prompt and extremely caring. They insured safety, prepared meals and made sure medications were taken appropriately. We felt we had a good rapport with each caregiver. When our service needs changed the company was responsive and flexible. Home Instead helped our family immensely.

I got a caregiver from Home Instead, and I didn't have a good experience. The first one they had was not able to come. The second wore a strong fragrance and I had to send her away. They sent another one, who was pretty good, and she helped me with my shower that day. I asked if I could have her, but they said no because she has other clients. They sent out four other people, but I did not choose anyone and decided to just stop and give them written notice. Then they sent this girl Gloria, and we hit it off right from the beginning. We had a great time. She's a wonderful worker, and I told them she's very good. When I came back to them, they pulled her away, and said she could only come from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. I said no, and felt that I was being shoved around. I felt like they lied to me, and I just think they're giving home healthcare a bad name.

My stepdad was diagnosed with dementia. It quickly became clear that he needed help if he was to remain at home. Home Instead provided kind, compassionate and competent care givers. The staff was patient, understanding, and wonderful to work with. I recommend them highly.

I think Home Instead is awesome. Like any business, the people who are employed have things come up -- personal business or whatever -- but each and every time something comes up, the company has the staff to cover it. Like tomorrow, my caregiver has to go for certification, so the company found somebody else who can come in, and it’s been flawless. They’ve never kept me hanging, and they are really good. I am glad that I did it. We had some pretty rough patches early on, and in fact, I talked to her about it this morning. What happened was I had a major surgical procedure on my right leg, and I am not weight-bearing for five months, so I am instantly an invalid. I think the caregivers, when they first meet somebody, have a tendency to wonder what the disposition of this person is, how helpless are they, or how independent are they. I remember asking my caregiver this morning whether she thought at one point that I was at a stage of my life where I was going to improve and I said, “I wonder if you think I’m actually going to get better or whether I am going to stay about the same?” I just need her help until I can walk again. I think that was the major thought in the first few days, and so it was a little rocky. I wasn’t sure if she was feeling sorry for me or what, and I didn’t want that. She has been such a great companion. She helps me buy groceries and helps me get up. I’ve asked her to take me to restaurants because I can’t drive, so we go to restaurants, and she is good company. She helps me with all these things. The place is clean, all the dishes are good, everything is sanitary, and the laundry gets done. It is all really good. Even when I first had my surgery and I was really a lot more helpless than I am now, she would help me in the bathing situation, and it was never like a situation where I felt terribly uncomfortable. In fact, she said, “You know this is what I do.” She was really helpful, but she had her own things to do, and, sadly, I have to accept that she was going to go back and do her own thing. This is just a great thing. I just happen to be lucky enough right now that there is no insurance involved and I'm still able to afford this. It is not cheap, but it is not nearly as much as it would be if I actually have to stay in a facility. They are really good. I would recommend them.

My husband is doing great. He is back to where he was before he had the stuff going on with him. It’s like he is healed. Home Instead Senior Care was very good. They were very dependable and very good, and they’ve trained their people well. The caregiver was wonderful, very sweet, and very eager to do everything she could to help to make our life better.

They are the BEST! They have been providing Caregivers for my elderly father for over 6 years now. The owner & staff are so very knowledgable, kind, caring, hardworking & always available! They do a great job trying to pair the best caregiver to match my father's needs & personality. I truly don't know what I would do without them.

We are very pleased with the caregiver from Home Instead. My mom loves to cook. She and the caregiver cook together every day. She also does the cleaning. She seems like an active lady and my mother has always been very active, so they work together just fine. Mom is very happy and content with her which is what's important.
