I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father was in The Community Healthcare of Texas House at Huguley before he passed. They were helping out with everything. My dad was well taken care of and the staff was awesome. They were very kind and loving and considerate of our feelings. The hospice house was very nice, very well taken care of, and a nice place. They were great, they took care of all our needs, and they were very respectful, very kind, and very loving people.

I am a past client of this provider

My dad spent his last four days at Lilge. Most of the nurses were kind and attentive, but didn't seem have much depth of medical knowledge. They were just doing what they were told without really understanding why. When I questioned them about their practices, nurses gave canned answers about administering pain meds and why they prohibit food and water and referred to their book explaining the process of dying. The said they do not hasten death, but how is it possible that withholding food and water while administering potentially lethal levels of opioids does not hasten death? When I expressed concern about placing my father on a continuous drip, the doctor, said it was not important now that he never regain consciousness, and tried to shut me down saying its not about us, it's about the patient. My dad died five hours after starting the continuous drip of a "new" analgesic. Verify it is actually your loved one's intention is to die here. Ask to see their advanced directive beforehand.

Professional, caring and helpful. This was a very stressful time for our family and they made it as bearable as possible. The dignity show was a blessing.

I interviewed this provider

My mother was admitted to this Hospice House and I cannot express stronlgy enough what a wonderful, caring and peaceful place it was for her and our family. From the minute she arrived until her death the professional medical treatment, compassion and caring of the staff was beyond measure. It's a stressful and emotional time for a family and they were with us in the process, not just standing by watching. Her needs and comfort were paramount to them and their support of our family was more than anyone could reasonably expect. The facility is warm, spaceous and comfortable. Plenty of seating areas, working kitchen, outdoor space, and dining area. It's obvious the staff there has a calling for hospice care; it's not just a job. We were lost as to what to do after her passing and their knowledgable staff guided us on things we needed to be doing. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs hospice care without reservation.
