History of BAYADA Home Health Care Helping people has been - and will always be - our singular purpose. It is the driving force behind The BAYADA Way, our company philosophy, and the heart of everything we do. The origins of BAYADA Home Health Care date back to 1975, when J. Mark Baiada opened his first office in Philadelphia, PA, with a vision that everyone should be entitled to a safe home life, with comfort, independence, and dignity. Mark always felt a higher sense of purpose toward his clients, and he believed that when you entered someone's home, you entered their lives. Finding like-minded professionals with the same sense of purpose and passion for helping others has been the foundation of our work and the more Mark found, the more the company grew. Four decades later, BAYADA has grown from those humble beginnings to become a national leader in the home care industry, with more than 300 service offices in 21 states and India. Today, BAYADA provides the highest quality care in the home to children and adults of all ages, spanning every level of care—from complex, high-tech care to just being there. Every day in every home, that care is delivered with compassion, excellence, and reliability – our BAYADA core values Accreditation BAYADA Home Health Care voluntarily seeks accreditation from leading independent accrediting agencies. It’s one tangible way we demonstrate our commitment to providing home health care services to clients with the highest professional, ethical, and safety standards. Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) CHAP, the leading accrediting organization for the home health care industry, has publicly certified BAYADA as voluntarily achieving the highest standards of excellence for home-based health care. BAYADA achieved accreditation by demonstrating compliance with CHAP national standards of excellence in the provision of care services. The rigorous CHAP accreditation process involves a thorough examination of the business and service aspects of the entire BAYADA Home Health Care organization — including office and client visits — in order to evaluate service quality, structural strength, organizational effectiveness, and human and financial resources. Our Pittsburgh area office located in North Versailles specializes in adult assistive care services, however, Private Duty Nursing, Pediatrics and Habilitation services are available through our nearby sister offices. BAYADA Pittsburgh works closely with our local ALS, MS and MDA programs, participating in fund raising events and community walks, as well as drives for local homeless and shelter organizations.
