My uncle is using Home Instead. The caregiver's name is Gwen. They're competent. They came right away. They helped me when my uncle changed his mind several times and were very kind and courteous and they're professionally able to do what they say they're going to do. He gets them over there from 9:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening. They do everything he needs to do and make sure he's safe without bothering him and being out constantly over him so he doesn't feel uncomfortable. These people called me right away and answered every question that I had. The billing is right on time. I wish it was a lot cheaper, but all of them are expensive. They just automatically take it out because I set it up that way, so it's good. He feels comfortable in his home, and he's happy, although confused. We have no issues with communication at all.

I had to get care for my husband after he had a stroke. We contacted home instead and were provided with a care giver who was excellent. Savannah went above and beyond while helping him along with myself with cleaning up the house etc. highly recommend

Had to get immediate care for my 90 year old uncle. Called Home instead. They made it a fast, thorough, understandable process. The nurse came out , assessed our situation, offered options, guidance and compassion. They also sent the perfect care giver... Savannah is awesome! She's kind, caring, professional and hard working. I couldn't recommend Home instead (Parma) more. Excellent service.

From the moment a Home Instead representative met with our family to explain their services to their no-pressure approach to allowing us to decide if this would be right for our family, to their selection of an in-home care giver that was a great match, our experience has been only positive. Our father's caregiver, Jack, has been the perfect match! He clearly cares about how my dad feels emotionally as well as physically. Jack does more than fulfill a checklist of duties, he has exceeded expectations for being level-headed, communicative and reliable. Knowing he is there to support my dad's independence is a great comfort to our family.

So once again, when it rains it pours and it literally did. In Ohio the Cleveland area on 8/6/2 had a tremendous storm that left down branches power outages, etc. one of my regular staff could not make her shift because a tree fall down in her yard, allowing her not to be able to get through. About 8 PM in the evening my staff member Kaylee got a call to see if she could stay longer and of course she rearranged her personal schedule to accommodate me so that I would have consistent care. She worked from 5 PM (8/6)to 7 AM (8/7) allowing me to get my regular care which I’m very appreciative of since I am bedbound. This demonstrates the love and care that Kaylee and all the staff members at Home Instead have given me throughout this experience. For this I am very grateful. God bless you Kaylee!

Erika, her caregiver, was outstanding in that she was very caring and responsive, had a personable and easygoing approach, was hard-working and dependable, and made suggestions that were very helpful and appropriate. She helped her successfully transition from Rehab to Assisted Living. The agency was responsive to her needs and desired changes.

Valeria from Home Instead did a very good job. She just started today. I just got out of a nursing home last night, so she came right away today. She did very good. She got a lot accomplished in the time allowed to her. She fixed breakfast for me, washed my floors, and fixed my bed. I will be using them every day for about ten to fifteen days.

My caregivers are Gloria and Laura from Home Instead. I've been using them for two years now, five days a week. The service is very good and they just do everything that needs to be done. They're very good helpers. They help me with everything. They get my meds, they make my supper, they scrub the floors in the kitchen and the bathroom, they change the bed and do the washing, and they vacuum. They do everything that I can't do.

I've been using Home Instead for five years now. The service has been fine. It provides cooking, housekeeping, shopping, errands, and things of that nature. Everything has been excellent. I'm using them three times a week. Scheduling has been good. I have not had a problem with access to anyone even if someone is off for some reason. I haven't had any difficulties getting someone rescheduled in the event that someone cannot make the appointment. That would be the only thing I would be concerned about. Everything has been totally satisfactory to me at this point. Carrie, the individual who has been coming here, has been excellent and has been coming here for a long time. I've been totally satisfied. The care has been excellent. I have no complaint.

I'm using Home Instead. The hospital set it up for transportation to get me to and from the doctor. The caregiver waits at the doctors until I was done, that was all, and then take me back home. It's convenient as far as getting to my procedure.

I have had Carrie from Home Instead for six years now, twice a week. I like their service because she has always been very faithful and very good to me. She takes me to my doctor visits and she also helps me with some light housekeeping. She has a very nice personality, never gets angry, and is always very kind.

I have an aide that comes once a week from Home Instead. I've been using them for six years now, once a week. What I like about their service is that I don't have to tell the caregiver what to do by now because she already knows what I need done. She goes about doing it and she's very helpful. She's always asked me if there's anything extra I need or anything I need done because I just went through four surgeries. She helped me a lot recuperating from that because there's a lot of things I couldn't do in my apartment. She came and did it for me. There are certain things I want to do or get and I can't reach or I can't get to, she takes care of it for me. She helps with my pet care. She helps with my care. When I was recuperating from those surgeries, I couldn't do any bending over or reaching for things and that was a big help because she would come in and she would put everything within my reach. She is very prompt. She is here at exactly 9:00 in the morning, every Friday. She shows up ready to work. She's the best aide that I've had in my life so far. Pam is all about her job. She's always very caring and very giving. She's awesome. I've never had any problem with them. I call Home Instead and they're very prompt, they take care of what I need taken care of, and I've never had any problem with them at all.

I've been a client and receiving home care through Home Instead for six years now. My caregiver, Dawn, comes twice a week and has been with me for five years. They always take a lot of care in matching me with the right caregiver, so it's a good match for both of us. She does help me with hygiene, some housekeeping chores, and laundry. My husband is also disabled slightly. My husband had some health problems a couple of years ago and I needed a caregiver for overnight and so I called their office to set one up and Betty answered the phone and I explained to her what I needed. She said my husband would have to come down and meet with somebody at the office before she could approve an aide coming up for an overnight shift because he would be the client. Technically, I'm already a client. He just had a detached retina and she wanted the poor guy to come down right away and interview with someone and be assessed and he can't do that. Betty was very hostile about it. My caregiver does my showering. She doesn't do anything like that for my husband. I trust her with anything. When my husband had some serious health problems, she cooked food for him and made extra for us as well. My parents were having some health emergencies as well and Dawn picked up a shift with them to help them because she knew that it hurt my heart that they had to get care and they couldn't find a good caregiver. In order to care for me, she cared for my parents. She defines what a caregiver should be. Everyone should be modeled after Dawn. I cannot say enough good things about her.

5 Stars for the Caregivers! We've been a client of Home Instead for four years now. We really love the caregivers we have found through them. We have one caregiver that works three days a week, so it's an eight-hour shift of preparing meals, help with getting dressed, and companionship. Then we have one caregiver that stays overnight two nights a week. Everything is involved with helping, like if my mom wakes up or is frightened or needs help with the bathroom. It's all personal attention and the needs that go with that. My mom considers Maria a friend and that she's very caring. She's very sweet to my mom. She's very patient. She treats her like I think she would treat her own mom and she's always on time. She never complains. Pretty much the best you could hope for. Cathy is the second caregiver and I would say the same thing about her, very caring, and very patient. My mom has some dementia, so some nights are more difficult and Cathy is a real pro. She looks for special ways to bring special gifts or special movies or things that my mom would enjoy. I can't say anything negative. They're both stars in my mind. It's a hard job and they do it well. I think they're great. We usually initiate any communications with the office about schedule changes or things like that, but they do a good job.

I started with Home Instead over a year ago. When I started out, it was about three times out of the week, but then I cut back because it wasn't necessary for me to have all that service. Then I went down to two days, every Monday and Tuesday, because I'm getting real healthy. My problem is that I was told not to drive to get to any doctor's appointments without help or to the grocery store and all of that. The service they've been providing me was mostly going to doctor's appointments, going down to the basement and doing some washing when needed, taking out the garbage every week, things like that. Laura has been very good to me and I've been good to them. I'm very happy with Home Instead. They've been cooperating with me also. I'm getting good care.

I've been using Home Instead for two years now once a week. Their service is good. The caregiver does the housecleaning. The scheduling is fine. I'm fine with the agency. Their worker is great. She's very polite. She listens to directions. She does extra cleaning if I have something extra dirty. She does everything that I want her to do and is very pleasant to work with. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

Kelly from Home Instead is just super. She takes me anywhere I have to go and she's always there for me. She takes me shopping, she takes me to doctor appointments, and she takes me to the drugstore. It's been a year or more, and she comes three times a week. Kelly is just wonderful. She helps me go Christmas shopping. She makes suggestions that always works. She helps me with anything I need. She does anything around the house that I ask her to, and I try not to ask her to do too much because I think she does more than enough. I wouldn't want to lose her and I wouldn't want anyone else. I have come to trust her totally. I would trust her alone in my house for any amount of time. She has just become vital to me. I couldn't get along without her. She always checks on my meds, makes sure I've taken them. She used to exercise with me when she first started and now we get enough exercise walking around, going from store to store and whatever errands I have to do. She's great. she's always been here when she's supposed to be. Kelly even comes early if I have an earlier doctor's appointment and they can't change it. She's very good that way. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. When my sons first mentioned getting home care, I said no, I don't want any strangers in my house and now I feel just the opposite. I look forward to the day she comes over here. I have my list ready for tomorrow and she's coming with me to see a daughter that never leaves her house. Kelly is going to take us both to lunch. It's so nice that I have Kelly because I have a hard time driving anymore. I live in a gated community and Kelly said she has taken care of other people in this community.

It’s been a comfort to know that my mother-in-law has had company. She was resistant to having care but found a staff she has felt comfortable with. Her caregiver is helpful, communicating with us regularly which is all we could hope for. The office has been good, responding to questions and/or concerns immediately. All staff are professional, kind and helpful. I would have appreciated better updates from social worker/nurse on her health. Home Instead provided what was needed for my mother-in-law, to remain at home and my husband and I, living over 4,000 miles away. Thank you!

We've been using Home Instead for a little over five-and-a-half years now. Every morning, seven days a week, and then Monday through Friday, twice a day, they come out. The service is very good or I wouldn't have kept them for five-and-a-half years. I like it because it's a smaller agency although Home Instead is part of a nationwide company. I know everybody that I need to know there. When I have issues that do come up time to time, one thing that's good about them is that I can pick up the phone and get somebody the majority of the time or email them and get a response very quickly. It's the response and taking care of an issue if need be. Through the years, we've obviously had a few caregivers. We've had one for quite a number of years prior to this. My mom now has severe dementia so her needs have changed from even a year and a half ago, let alone five years ago. Cassandra has been with my mom for more than a year. She's there almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, she has a morning shift and she has the late afternoon shift or early evening shift. My mother has to be fed majority of the time. The other caregivers are more part time, but one thing good about them is that they're all versed on elder care as it relates to dementia, including hospice because they've worked at different entities throughout the years at different assisted living and with hospice patients. My mom is bedbound. Their duties include bathing her and changing her daily, which is a skillset within itself when it comes to somebody that's bedridden. They're very knowledgeable. My mom also has a Foley catheter that they're very versed on, not just emptying it, but also inspecting it daily to make sure that there's no irritation and there's no blood in the catheter. One good thing also is that Cassandra along with all of them take very, very good notes. They have a Home instead book, not just what they're feeding my mother which includes sometimes puree meal. The notes that they take are excellent. When a sibling comes in or if I come in and look at them or a physician or RN or AP comes in, they can easily go back a week or two weeks and look at notes and get a feeling for everything that's going on with her, including frequency of BM and things of that nature. They're not perfect, but one thing I do appreciate is that when a problem does arise, it's taken care of very quickly.

We've been using Home Instead for about a year now. The caregiver comes about 40 hours a week, Monday through Thursday and then on Saturday. The caregiver that my mom has, Patricia, is outstanding, compassionate, and reliable. She communicates well with me and my brother. She's very attentive to my mom and helps her with setting up her medication. My mom has memory loss and she's compassionate about that and really is attentive to her needs regarding dementia. Scheduling was super easy, even when we've adjusted. Billing is communicated well. When I've called with different concerns or questions regarding insurance and all that, they've responded quickly if I didn't get a hold of them right away. I've even had the nurse just check in on a regular basis just to make sure everything's going well. I've been really pleased. I've actually recommended Home Instead to several people just because they've been so helpful to our family. We just feel really fortunate to have Tricia and just somebody who has a great heart for people who are elderly.

My mother has had in-home care for almost a year now and I have only good things to say about Home Instead. The administrative staff is always very friendly and responsive to any request I've made. My mother's health care worker, Val has been her care giver from the very beginning, and consistency matters. She is excellent with my mom who has some dementia and is unable to walk. The best thing about Val is she can make my mom laugh, and mom makes her laugh too! She also does her caregiving responsibilities in a very professional way and is always on time. I am very grateful that Home Instead was able to find a good match for my mother the first time around. I highly recommend their services.

In my case, I wanted someone to be with my mother primarily so I could 1-go shopping early one day a week, 2-work on a project in another part of the house without needing to stop and take care of my mom’s needs, and 3-have extra coverage while I was on vacation. My expectations of the caregiver were sometimes to assist mom with bathing and dressing as well as toileting, and to give pre-sorted meds, but also to interact with and engage my mother in activities which she enjoys. She also has needed supervision in ongoing physical therapy exercises. There were a few communication issues at first with the agency in understanding what was expected of each other. There has so far only been 1 time when the caregiver didn’t arrive on time. I haven’t personally interacted with all the caregivers who have taken shifts while I’m on vacation, but interactions that I did have were all satisfactory. The agency has worked diligently to get all the shifts covered that I needed - few hours in morning and few hours in evening.

My husband had a stroke in March and we hired Home Instead to provide support, as I had to return to work in August. We needed basic care-giving, as my husband was able to dress, bath and feed himself but needed some assistance in performing basic exercises and transportation to/from activities. Home Instead provided excellent caregivers and Jeff enjoyed the time he spent with each. We would highly recommend Home Instead to others who are in need of their services.

Dawn treats me like family. Goes above and beyond with her care for me. Always asks if there is anything she can do for me before she leaves! Home Instead is fortunate to have her as a caregiver. While I was at the Oaks of Brecksville for rehabilitation, I used Home Instead for transportation and have been with them after returning home ever since.

Home Instead provides my family the opportunity to be together by providing home care.to my 89 year old mother. We get the breaks we need while my mother receives quality care from caregivers who really care. They are gentle, effective, and reliable. Without Home Instead, my mother would be in a facility, separated from my father to whom she jas been married for 69 years.

Home Instead was a fantastic service! Debbie was my home health aide and was very attentive. She took care of monitoring my prescriptions, made me breakfast and lunch, did all of my family's laundry, and stood watch while I took a nap each day. Her relaxed demeanor and sense of humor (so important!) made each day a joy! I truly look forward to having her return in approximately 4 weeks!

There's no greater gift than to care for and love someone as much as you do. My mother's caregiver, April, has made tears turn to laughter and anxiety to peace. She is attentive to my mom's needs and treats her with love and dignity. Prior to Home Instead I had another agency. There were things that began to concern me: my mom asking if "they" are coming again, a call from the agency telling me my mom wasn't answering the door : while they were at the wrong house, a guarantee of the same caregiver fell through as each day a new categiver was coming. So, I was pretty prepared when I met with Shanon Gielty the coordinator to ask some questions I had never considered as well as share with her my expectations . She listened and reassured me: most importantly, she followed through. She selected April based on my description of my mom and how I imagined a perfect caregiving experience to be. Now, instead of my mom asking "why do they have to come?", she's asking "Where is she? Is she coming today?" I come home to find them laughing, dancing and having so much fun. There are times I honestly think my mom would rather be with April than me. That says a lot because my mom and I have been best friends and "partners in crime" for forever . I presently living with my mom and knowing that she is well cared for I am able to take some needed breaks. In the fall when I return to teaching I know I will feel less stressed knowing my mom is safe and happy.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of experience with home care services, and fortunately we are able to afford to have care in the home versus moving to a nursing facility. All the people are very nice and try to accommodate as best as possible to our requests. I feel the most concerning issue seems to be the limited amount of caregiver pool there is to choose from. I don't know if they have a hard time finding people to work in this field or if the type of person we are requesting is rare. On a positive note, however, they have always had someone to fill the openings, so that has been very much appreciated. Overall the caregivers are competent and compassionate, which is what is expected when trusting someone with your loved one.

I have had such a positive experience with Home Instead Senior Care! With a broken shoulder and broken arm, I was really limited in caring for myself. I found each and everyone of the staff to be sensitive to my situation and willing to help me with everything that I needed.
